Chapter 1: The sound of a splash into the water (2 / 2)

“Cry, cry, cry…” Wen Dafu glanced into the room and shouted in a low voice, “You have this skill, what were you doing on the spot?”

"I... I told Chen Jianbing everything at that time." Cui Yulan's eyes were red. Thinking of the scene at that time, she gritted her teeth and cursed, "It's all Liu Xiaoling's fault for hugging Jianbing so tightly."

"Dad, Mom, I just sent Doctor Duan back home. Is my little sister awake?" Wen Jianguo asked as soon as he entered the room.

Cui Yulan lowered her head and wiped away her tears. "Not yet. I'll go to the kitchen to see how the meal is going."

After saying that, he walked quickly into the kitchen.

Tian Xiaocao, who was cutting sweet potato fries in the kitchen, saw Cui Yulan's red and swollen eyes and said, "Mom, I steamed a bowl of egg custard for my little sister."

"Xiao Cao, you're still pregnant, so make an extra bowl for yourself." Cui Yulan sniffed and stepped forward to grab the kitchen knife, "I'll cut it, you go light the fire."

Tian Xiaocao did not insist and obediently went to light the fire and cook. Her husband had been busy outside all day, so she had to prepare the meal quickly.

Inside the main room.

"Dad, did you ask Mom how my little sister fell in there?" Wen Jianguo asked with a frown.

Wen Dafu shook his head. "Your mother and the others were washing clothes. When they heard the noise, Xiaowan and the others had already fallen in."

"Cough cough..." Wen Guan in the room deliberately coughed twice to make a sound.

Wen Dafu stood up happily outside the room, walked to the door and stopped, "Yulan, Yulan...my daughter is awake."

Wen Wan supported himself on the bed and stood up, "Dad, Mom, Brother."

"My daughter, it's all my fault." Cui Yulan couldn't help but tear up, and stepped forward to hug Wen Wan into her arms, "It's all my fault that I can't swim and couldn't save you."

Wen Guan's body stiffened. It had been a long time since anyone had hugged her so affectionately.

She raised her hand and patted Cui Yulan on the back, "Mom, I don't blame you, don't blame yourself." Others have deliberate schemes, and the original body cannot defend against them.

"My daughter, how do you feel now? Are you feeling unwell anywhere?" Cui Yulan asked worriedly.

"It's okay, I'll be fine after a rest." Wen Wan pretended to be relaxed.

Hearing this, Cui Yulan and the other three breathed a sigh of relief. Their daughters had been delicate and docile since they were little, and this afternoon was too thrilling.

"My daughter, weren't you sewing clothes at home today? Why did you go to the river?" Cui Yulan spoke cautiously.

Wen Wan's brows sank, "Dad, Mom, Liu Xiaoling asked me out today. She said she had something to tell me about Chen Jianbing. She deliberately pushed me into this." Wen Wan emphasized the last sentence.

"Xiao Wan, Liu Xiaoling said that you didn't stand firmly, and when she tried to pull you up, she fell in with you."

Wen Jianguo frowned. Now his younger sister and Liu Xiaoling's statements were completely different.

Cui Yulan was furious and slapped Wen Jianguo on the back twice. "My daughter wouldn't lie. It must be Liu Xiaoling who wanted to harm my daughter."

"Mom, I didn't say I didn't trust my little sister." Wen Jianguo grimaced in pain. His mother was too harsh.

Wen Dafu suppressed his anger and asked, "Girl, how do you want to deal with this matter?" On his way back, he heard the villagers' discussions and felt something was wrong.

"Dad, we need to discuss this matter." A hint of coldness flashed in Wen Wan's eyes. She hadn't suffered such a big loss in many years.
