After shaking for more than half an hour, a bicycle came speeding towards us.
Wen Wan looked again and again, then called out uncertainly, "Brother?"
Wen Jianguo paused in surprise when he heard the familiar voice. "Little sister, why are you sitting on the ox cart? Didn't I tell you to wait for me in town to pick you up?"
When he got off work, he saw that there was no time left, so he got on his bike and rushed to town without even drinking a sip of water.
"Brother, I told you not to come to pick me up. I can go home by myself." Wen Guan said helplessly.
Looking at the sweat on Wen Jianguo's forehead, Wen Wan felt distressed again. Without thinking too much, she knew that Wen Jianguo must have completed his workload ahead of schedule and came to pick her up specially.
Wen Jianguo smiled innocently and scratched his head. "Little sister, get off the car quickly. I'll take you back on my bike. Your sister-in-law specially made a soft cushion for the back seat."
He mentioned it when he went back in the morning, and when he went back in the afternoon, there was an extra seat cushion on the back of the bicycle.
"Jianguo, you are so nice to Xiaowan. You come all the way to pick her up." Someone said jokingly with a sour tone in his voice.
Wen Jianguo didn't understand the hidden meaning in other people's words at all. He patted his chest and said proudly, "It's my duty to be nice to my little sister."
Wen Wan jumped off the car with a smile on her face, and jumped back onto the bicycle, "Brother, let's go." She was so happy that her heart was bubbling with joy.
After saying that, he waved to Uncle Niu, his face full of happiness, his feet swaying uncontrollably.
The trees on the roadside flashed by, and Wen Wan lowered her eyes to hide her tears.
I remember when I was in school, the older grades would finish school late, and the kids in the younger grades would wait for them in the school guard room.
I often see other classmates being picked up by their parents or grandparents, but the children from their orphanage just go home in groups.
With a squeak, Wen Jianguo smoothly stopped the bicycle and felt no movement behind him. "Little sister, we are home."
Hearing the voice, Wen Wan woke up from his memories, jumped out of the car with a smile, and before he could say anything, Cui Yulan hugged him.
"Xiao Wan, how are you today? I was so worried about you."
Wen Wan shrugged casually, "Mom, I have to go to work tomorrow morning, I'll have to trouble my eldest brother to take me there."
"What trouble is there? It's his duty as the eldest brother." Cui Yulan thought it was all natural.
After hearing Wen Wan say that he would go to work tomorrow, Cui Yulan felt a little reluctant and muttered, "My girl, I will go with you tomorrow. It would be best if we could rent a house near your workplace."
Firstly, she was worried that her daughter was too tired from going out early and coming back late every day, and secondly, she didn't want her eldest son to have to go to work and pick up people at the same time.
"Mom, I found a house." Wen Wan smiled mysteriously and blinked his eyes. "Grandma Guo's family has prepared a room for me. I can move in directly after I pack some clothes."
Cui Yulan's expression suddenly became serious, and she whispered, "Xiao Wan, you and Zhou Haoting are not married, so you can't live together."
"Mom, what are you thinking? Zhou Haoting is going to the army today. Now Grandma Guo is the only one left at home." Wen Wan spoke frankly.
Cui Yulan breathed a sigh of relief and smiled bitterly, "Okay, then I'll go to town every now and then to accompany you and cook for you when I'm free."
In fact, it would be a good idea for my daughter to live with Old Mrs. Guo. They can take care of each other, and she can visit often and keep an eye on them at any time.
