Chapter 206 Xiao Ze's Guilt

Chapter 206 Xiao Ze's Guilt

"Brother Xiao is polite."

Yun Piaomiao smiled slightly and stood up to return the greeting. She looked calm, as if she had no grudge against Xiao Ze for regretting his decision to break off the engagement.

Xiao Wuwei couldn't help but sigh in his heart as he looked at the two equally outstanding young men and women standing opposite each other.

"Zer, your Uncle Yun and I have something to discuss. Please take Miaoer around."

"Yes, father."

Xiao Ze was slightly stunned, but still nodded in agreement.

"Miss Yun, please come this way."

Yun Piaomiao nodded and followed Xiao Ze out of the hall. The two walked slowly side by side in the Xiao family garden.

"Miss Yun, I feel really guilty for breaking off the engagement in public that day, and I have yet to apologize to you in person. I'm sorry, it's my fault that your reputation has been damaged, please forgive me, Miss Yun!"

Xiao Ze looked sincere and bowed deeply to Yun Piaomiao.

"Brother Xiao, you can't do that! You can't do that!"

Yun Piaomiao seemed to be frightened and quickly moved aside.

"I don't blame you. You have no feelings for me. If the two of you are together reluctantly, you will never be happy in the future!"

Seeing Yun Piaomiao being so magnanimous, Xiao Ze's liking for her deepened. He looked at Yun Piaomiao seriously and said.

"Anyway, I'm sorry for you. If you need me in the future, I will definitely help you!"

A strange light flashed in Yun Piaomiao's eyes. She looked up at Xiao Ze and smiled politely.

"Thank you, Senior Brother Xiao! Senior Brother Xiao, you can go and do whatever you want. I will just walk around the garden by myself."

Xiao Ze already felt guilty towards Yun Piaomiao, as she was the most innocent one at that wedding.

Now she is still so considerate and doesn't hold any grudge against what happened in the past, which makes Xiao Ze feel even more guilty.

"Miss Yun, I promised my father that I would treat you well. Think about whether there is any place you want to go. I will go with you."

"Brother Xiao, am I causing you too much trouble?"

Yun Piaomiao had a guilty look on his face, and then he spoke again.

"It's really okay for me, but I can't delay your business."

"Haha, no problem! I'm fine anyway."

A hint of smile appeared on Xiao Ze's usually cold face.

"Really? Thank you so much, Senior Brother Xiao."

Yun Piaomiao smiled sweetly and looked very happy.

"Then Senior Brother Lao Xiao will accompany me to the market. I have never been to the market in Kunlun before."

"Then go! It's Chinese New Year now, so it's quite lively."

The two of them left the Xiao family one after the other and went to the market.

When she arrived at the market, Yun Piaomiao changed her usual dignified and gentle appearance. She looked here and there with curiosity, with a bright smile on her face, and looked like a naive girl.

Xiao Ze followed behind silently, answering Yun Piaomiao's questions from time to time. The atmosphere between the two was very harmonious.

As soon as An Ran entered Kunlun City, she saw Xiao Ze standing alone in front of a stall, and was extremely surprised. She ran over quickly and shouted with a smile on her face.

"Brother Xiao!"

When Xiao Ze heard the familiar voice, he turned around and saw An Ran standing beside him like a green lotus.

Surprise flashed in his eyes, and he was about to speak. But Yun Piaomiao smiled and held a piece of dessert to his mouth.

"Brother Xiao, try it, it's delicious."

An Ran looked at the scene in front of her, the smile on her face froze, and a trace of hurt and loss flashed in her eyes.

She had come to see Xiao Ze with great joy, but she had not expected to encounter such a situation.

Xiao Ze looked at An Ran somewhat awkwardly, then looked at Yun Piaomiao, not knowing how to respond. He opened his mouth to explain, but felt at a loss for words.

Yun Piaomiao seemed to have just noticed An Ran's presence and turned to look at An Ran with surprise.

"Miss An, you're here! Haha, Senior Brother Xiao is just accompanying me for a stroll, please don't misunderstand me!"

Anran stood silently by the side, feeling as if her heart was being pricked by needles. She looked straight at Xiao Ze and couldn't help but let out a sarcastic smile.

"Is this what you mean by something going on at home?"

Xiao Ze noticed An Ran's abnormality and quickly explained.

"Ran'er, don't misunderstand. Miss Yun and Uncle Yun came to visit our home, and I just helped entertain Miss Yun."

"Really? Then you can treat me well, I won't bother you anymore."

An Ran's face was gloomy. She had clearly told him that something was wrong with Yun Piaomiao. It was obvious that he did not take her words to heart.

As An Ran finished her words, her figure rushed away like lightning.

"But..."

When Xiao Ze saw An Ran leave in anger, he knew that she had misunderstood him. I wanted to catch up and explain, but then I looked at Yun Piaomiao who looked innocent beside me.

I can only sigh in my heart and explain it to Ran'er next time. Ran'er has always been reasonable.

"Brother Xiao."

Yun Piaomiao looked at Xiao Ze timidly, with guilt in her beautiful eyes.

"What's wrong with Miss An? She seems angry? Is it because of me? I'm really sorry, I can explain it to her."

Xiao Ze turned around and saw Yun Piaomiao's face full of regret, and couldn't help but slow down his voice.

"You don't need to blame yourself. This has nothing to do with you. It was Ran'er who misunderstood. I'll explain it to her next time."

"Really?"

There was something wet in Yun Piaomiao's big eyes, like an innocent little deer.

When he met her eyes, Xiao Ze's heart softened and his guilt towards her became even stronger. This matter had nothing to do with her, but she was dragged into it again.

"Yeah, that's fine. If you want to go somewhere else, let's continue shopping."

"Thank you, Brother Xiao, you are so kind."

A bright smile appeared on Yun Piaomiao's face again, but a hint of pride flashed in her eyes.

When An Ran saw that Xiao Ze was not opposed to Yun Piaomiao's closeness, she felt as if her heart was being bitten by millions of ants.

She rushed out of Kunlun City, stopped at a conspicuous place, and waited quietly for Xiao Ze's arrival. She felt that Xiao Ze would definitely come after her and explain everything to her.

However, as time passed, Xiao Ze never showed up.

An Ran's body was stiff, she stood straight in the same place, not moving at all.

She opened her eyes wide and stared straight ahead, expecting the familiar figure to suddenly appear in her sight. However, no matter how much she expected, Xiao Ze did not come.

The sun slowly sets in the west, and the sunset glow in the sky is as bright as blood. Anran stared blankly at the gorgeous sky, as if she saw her broken heart.

Finally, she could no longer hold on, the strength in her body dissipated instantly, and she collapsed to the ground powerlessly. She lowered her head, tears flowing uncontrollably from her eyes, drops falling to the ground.

After a long time, Anran wiped the tears from her face with her sleeve and slowly stood up.

She looked back for the last time at Kunlun City which was gradually being engulfed by darkness, and a hint of determination flashed in her eyes.

"Xiao Ze, it's over between us."

She murmured, her voice full of disappointment and despair. After saying that, she turned around and walked resolutely into the distance, leaving behind a lonely and determined back.
