Chapter 21 Countryside Courtyard
An Guodong heard the noise outside and also went out of the yard. When he saw Lin Qingwan hugging an old man and crying bitterly, he immediately had some guesses in his mind.
"Qingwan, stop crying. Who is this?"
An Guodong went forward to comfort them, and he felt very upset when he saw the two of them crying together.
"This is my dad. Dad, let's go inside first."
Lin Qingwan then stopped crying and helped Old Man Lin into the yard.
"Hmph." Old Master Lin snorted coldly, without even looking at An Guodong, he followed his daughter into the yard.
An Guodong quickly invited Lin Huaizhi to come in, and then busied himself pouring tea for the two of them.
Everyone sat down, and Lin Qingwan finally calmed down and took the tea from An Guodong and handed it to Grandpa Lin.
"Dad, have some tea."
Mr. Lin took the teacup and took a sip. A warm current entered my throat and flowed into my body. Suddenly, my body felt warm and all the fatigue of the past few days was swept away.
He couldn't help but take another sip, then he slowly breathed a sigh of relief.
Lin Huaizhi also took a sip, and a look of amazement flashed in his eyes. He sighed in his heart that it was indeed a good tea.
Old Master Lin looked around at the scenery. Although the courtyard was clean and simple, it was extremely simple. The eldest daughter of the Lin family has been trapped in this small courtyard for twenty years.
He couldn't help but look at the man in front of him who lowered his head and dared not speak, and a fierce look flashed in his eyes. It was this seemingly honest and simple man who wasted his daughter's life.
Lin Qingwan looked at An Guodong standing in front of his father with his head down obediently like a child who had done something wrong, and felt both distressed and amused.
"Dad, don't scare him."
"You are still protecting him." Old Master Lin was shocked. Doesn't she hate this man who trapped her in the small mountain village?
"He is my man and the father of my child. Why shouldn't I protect him?"
Mr. Lin suddenly felt a surge of anger in his heart, thinking about how his daughter had suffered so many unexpected disasters. He suppressed it hard again, and almost got internal injuries.
Lin Huaizhi sensitively realized that things might not be as they imagined, and quickly changed the subject.
"Aunt, this tea tastes delicious. Where did you buy it from? I want to buy some too."
Lin Qingwan turned her head and looked at the tall and handsome man in front of her; "Are you Huaizhi?"
"Yes, auntie."
"You've grown up now, that's good, really good." She burst into tears and forced a smile.
"This is made by your sister Ranran when she went to the mountains to pick tea. If you like it, auntie will give you some."
"Well, thank you, aunt." Lin Huaizhi smiled gently.
"Qingwan, why didn't you go home for so many years? Do you know how worried your mother and I are about you?"
In the end, Mr. Lin couldn't bear to see his daughter suffer, so he stopped making things difficult for An Guodong.
"You sit down too." He said to An Guodong.
"Yes." An Guodong was a little embarrassed. He clearly felt that Qingwan's father disliked him.
Lin Qingwan then sat down next to Mr. Lin and spoke.
"Dad, I lost my memory before and I don't know who I am at all."
"What?" Old Master Lin's eyes widened and he gasped for breath after being shocked by Lin Qingwan's words. "How could he lose his memory? What happened in these years?"
Lin Qingwan rubbed his chest soothingly; "Dad, don't worry. I lost my memory and just came back from the hospital yesterday. If you had found me one day earlier, I wouldn't even remember who you were."
Then, she slowly and carefully recounted what happened that year.
"So, Guodong is my savior. He has been taking care of me all these years. Dad, you shouldn't be prejudiced against him. If it weren't for him, my daughter would have long ceased to exist in this world."
After hearing this, Mr. Lin burst into tears and was extremely sad.
"It's all Dad's fault for not judging people well. If you wanted a divorce, you should have done it. Dad shouldn't have persuaded you to go back."
Lin Qingwan also burst into tears, and An Guodong couldn't help but come over and hug her.
"Qingwan, don't be sad. You are weak and can't be too sad. Father-in-law is old and can't be too emotional."
The two gradually stopped crying, and Old Man Lin gritted his teeth and said, "When you got into trouble, I suspected that Ji Qiubai had something to do with it, but that guy did it so cleanly that we never had any evidence. He insisted that you went out and disappeared on your own."
Then he looked as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.
Lin Qingwan was smart and saw Mr. Lin’s concerns at a glance, so she spoke frankly.
"Dad, just tell me what you have to say. I'm not that fragile."
Old Master Lin then sighed helplessly, "The second year after your accident, that guy remarried and brought a one-year-old son. Your brother found out that his new wife was the woman you saw in the hospital. He promised us to get rid of the child at that time just as a temporary measure to stabilize us."
"Qingwan, Dad hasn't avenged you all these years. Do you blame Dad?"
Over the years, my family has been busy with company matters. All his time was spent looking for Lin Qingwan, and he had no time to pay attention to that family.
"Dad, what are you talking about? How could I blame you? I'm fine now, really fine. You haven't seen Ranran, how beautiful and outstanding she is. And Ning'er, that boy is naughty, but very sensible and obedient. Guodong is also very good to me, Dad, I'm very happy now. As for those people who have nothing to do with us, we just need to ignore them."
Lin Qingwan leaned gently on Mr. Lin's shoulder with a satisfied look on her face.
Mr. Lin had been working hard for days and had not had a good rest. Today, he finally found his daughter and was very emotional. Now that he has calmed down, he can't help but look tired.
An Guodong was observant and he noticed that Mr. Lin did not look very well. So he advised: "Father-in-law has been tired all day, go to the room and rest for a while."
"Yes, Dad and Huaizhi go to their rooms to rest. Dad, I'll take you to Ranran's room. Huaizhi, your uncle will take you to your cousin's room."
Lin Qingwan also noticed that her father looked unwell, so she quickly helped him into the house.
Several people entered the house, into the living room in the middle, with a simple sofa and coffee table against the wall. There are two rooms on each side. The house is not decorated much, it is very simple.
As Lin Qingwan walked into An Ran's room, the room was fresh and clean, with a faint pleasant fragrance. Old Master Lin's eyelids felt heavier and heavier, and as soon as Lin Qingwan took care of him and laid him down, he fell into a deep sleep.
Here, Lin Huaizhi followed An Guodong into An Ning's room. The room is simple and clean, and there is a soothing and relaxing fragrance in the air. He couldn't help but lie down on the bed and fell asleep peacefully.
After a sweet sleep, Lin Huaizhi woke up from his dream. I just felt refreshed and extremely comfortable all over. He was secretly amazed. He had never slept so relaxedly before. It has been a long time since I felt so energetic. No one is immune to sub-health in the city.
He got up easily and left the room.
Lin Qingwan, who was busy at work, saw him coming out and said with a gentle smile, "Huaizhi is awake, did you sleep well?"
Lin Huaizhi was in a trance and saw the gentle aunt deep in his memory again.
"Auntie, I slept very well and comfortably."
"That's good. Go check if Grandpa is awake. It will be time for dinner soon."
Lin Huaizhi nodded and responded when he heard this. I went to the room where my grandfather slept and gently pushed open the door. Grandpa was sleeping peacefully on the bed in the room. Perhaps it was the noise he made when he entered the room that caused Mr. Lin to slowly open his eyes.
"Grandpa, are you awake? Did you sleep well?"
Lin Huaizhi went over and helped him get up and put on his clothes. Old Man Lin stretched his limbs and took a deep breath.
"Phew... It was such a comfortable sleep. I haven't slept so comfortably in all these years."
Mr. Lin refused his grandson's help, he felt he was able to do it again.
The two of them left the house together, and Lin Qingwan came over to greet them; "Dad, Huaizhi, it's time to eat."
