Chapter 58: Discovery of Abnormality
The grandfather and grandson soon arrived at Mr. Jiang's home, and as usual, Jiang Shenxing went to the door to lead them in. As soon as I entered the door, I saw Mr. Jiang lying comfortably on the rocking chair in the small yard, squinting his eyes to bask in the sun.
"Hello, Grandpa Jiang."
An Ran's clear voice sounded, and she called out "Mr. Jiang" with a smile.
When Mr. Jiang heard An Ran's voice, he immediately opened his eyes and sat up. An Ran went forward and helped him sit steadily, then observed his expression from close up.
Old Jiang was still very thin, but in good spirits. He no longer looked as old as before, and he smiled kindly at An Ran.
"Ran Ran, why haven't you come to see Grandpa Jiang for so long?"
Mr. Jiang said in a wronged tone.
"Haha, Grandpa Jiang. I'm here now."
An Ran placed her hand on Mr. Jiang's pulse and used her spiritual sense to sense Mr. Jiang's current physical condition. After she withdrew her hand, Jiang Shenxing asked with a somewhat nervous look.
"How is it? Is your Grandpa Jiang recovering well?"
Mr. Lin and Mr. Jiang also looked at her intently.
An Ran chuckled and spoke in a relaxed tone.
"The toxins have been cleared, and all we need to do next is to take good care of ourselves."
She took out a small bottle from her bag and handed it to Jiang Shenxing.
"Uncle Jiang, this is the Yang Yuan Pill. Although Grandpa Jiang's poison has been resolved, the toxin still caused great damage to his body. This medicine can repair the damage to the body very well. Take one pill a day, and you will be almost there in a month."
Then she took out a piece of paper from her bag and handed it to Jiang Shenxing.
"Oh, this is the medicinal food I prepared for Grandpa Jiang based on his physical condition. If you keep eating it, it will be very helpful to your body."
Jiang Shenxing held the medicine bottle and recipe and nodded heavily.
"Of course, thank you so much."
An Ran smiled at him and said nothing more.
Old Master Lin was a little jealous, because his daughter Ranran had never specially prepared medicinal food for him. She was really biased. So, he frowned and spoke with grievance.
"Of course, grandpa hasn't eaten the medicinal food you prepared specially for me yet."
"hehe."
An Ran was a little amused and helpless when she heard this.
"Grandpa, you are in good health and don't need to take medicinal food."
When Mr. Lin heard An Ran's words, he immediately looked at Mr. Jiang with pride.
"Old Jiang, did you hear that? Ranran said I'm in good health. Since you're ill, I won't argue with you."
Mr. Jiang ignored Mr. Lin and looked at An Ran with a pitiful face.
"Of course, your grandpa bullied me."
Mr. Lin was speechless...
"You...you still have some dignity. Look at your face full of wrinkles. How can you pretend to be so pitiful?"
Mr. Jiang still didn't say anything and still looked pitiful.
"Of course, look at your grandpa, he even makes personal attacks."
"You... I didn't expect that you, old man Jiang, are still an old lotus."
An Ran looked at the two old men who were making a fuss with some amusement. She approached Jiang Shenxing and spoke softly.
"Uncle Jiang, you should pay more attention to Grandpa Jiang's diet and daily life in the future."
Jiang Shenxing nodded and spoke.
"We have already made some progress. We have already strengthened our defenses here."
I understood it and didn't ask any more questions. There are many things that she cannot participate in.
She stood aside and watched the two old men bickering like children, finding it very interesting. She didn't say anything, just watched with great interest.
"Mr. Lin, have some tea. Miss An, have some tea."
The young nanny who was in charge of taking care of Mr. Jiang brought out a few cups of tea, smiled and invited Mr. Lin to drink the tea safely, and then brought another cup and placed it in front of Mr. Jiang.
An Ran smiled and thanked him, then picked up the teacup and took a sip. Suddenly, she smelled a faint scent in the air. She fixed her eyes on Mr. Jiang's cup of tea which was still steaming.
She suddenly smiled and spoke with a curious tone.
"Grandpa Jiang, your teacup is so unique, can you let me see it?"
Mr. Jiang gently stroked the teacup and sighed, his eyes full of nostalgia.
"Hey, this is my wife's dowry. I fell in love with this cup at first sight, but I was too embarrassed to ask her for it. She is very smart and she saw that I liked this cup a long time ago. So she gave it to me. This cup has been with me for decades, and now when I see this cup, it's like seeing her."
An Ran never thought that a teacup could contain such long-lasting emotions and longings.
"Ran Ran, if you like it, take it and have a look. But Grandpa Jiang is reluctant to give it to you."
Mr. Jiang withdrew his thoughts and looked at An Ran with a smile on his face.
"Grandpa Jiang, how could I take someone's love away?"
An Ran picked up the teacup with a smile and looked at it carefully for a long while. No wonder, even people as cautious as Uncle Jiang didn’t find where the poison was.
This cup has been soaked in poison. Every time you use this cup to make tea, the high temperature of the tea will stimulate the toxins in the cup.
No wonder she felt that there was something wrong with the poison in Grandpa Jiang at that time. It turned out that it was accumulated bit by bit.
The babysitter, who had not left yet, saw Anran holding the cup and looking at it carefully, and a slightly nervous look appeared in her eyes.
An Ran calmly put the teacup back and said to Mr. Jiang with a smile.
"This cup is very unique. You can't find a cup with such exquisite workmanship now."
Mr. Jiang looked somewhat pleased with himself. He smiled and looked at Mr. Lin.
"Ran Ran has a good eye and knows that this is a good thing."
Then his expression was filled with memories of the past.
"Your grandmother Jiang was also a lady from a famous family. If she hadn't encountered that catastrophe, she would not have married me. This cup was passed down from her ancestors. I heard that her ancestors served as officials in the palace. Therefore, a lot of her dowry came from the palace."
He looked at An Ran again and smiled kindly.
"As a girl, what kind of teacup do you like? Grandpa Jiang will take you to pick something good later."
At first, An Ran was listening carefully to Mr. Jiang's story about the past, but when she heard that Mr. Jiang wanted to give her something good, she quickly waved her hand.
"No, no, Grandpa Jiang. That's the thought Grandma Jiang left for you. I can't have it."
It was then that Mr. Lin took over the conversation and spoke.
"Of course, just accept the things your Grandpa Jiang gave you. Don't be polite to this old guy. You don't know that he has so many good things. Pick out a good one later and make him feel sorry for it."
"Haha, it's just some stuff, it's okay."
Mr. Jiang waved his hand casually, picked up the teacup and was about to drink.
An Ran quickly stepped forward to stop him.
"Grandpa Jiang, your tea is getting cold. Let me change it for you."
From the corner of her eye, she clearly saw the babysitter, who was pretending to be busy in the living room but peeking over here, secretly clenching her hands. An Ran sneered and took the cup from Mr. Jiang.
Seeing this, the little nanny hurriedly ran out of the house and reached out to take the cup from Anran's hand.
"Miss An, give it to me. I'll go change the tea."
An Ran turned aside and looked at her with a smile.
"You seem very nervous."
The babysitter immediately calmed down and said to An Ran with a smile.
"Miss An, you are joking. Serving tea and water is my job. How can I trouble you to do it yourself?"
"Oh, thank you very much. Then could you please pour a cup of tea for Grandpa Jiang?"
Anran smiled sweetly, handed the cup to the babysitter, and sat back in her seat.
Old Master Jiang, Old Master Lin, and Jiang Shenxing were all shrewd men. When they saw An Ran's unusual behavior, they didn't say anything, but looked at each other thoughtfully.
