Chapter 88 Ji Qiubai's Memories

Chapter 88 Ji Qiubai's Memories

"Brother Xiao, do you have any way to save my mother?"

An Ran looked at Xiao Ze with hopeful eyes.

Xiao Ze shook his head and explained regretfully.

"The Yao Chi Yun family's Beauty Sleeping is a secret that is not passed on. I heard that the ingredients used are extremely precious, so this poison rarely leaks out, let alone the antidote."

"What should we do then?"

An Ran suddenly became discouraged. Is there really no way to save her mother? How could she bear to see her mother suffer like this?

"The Patriarch of the Yun Family should have the antidote, but he has been in seclusion for many years, and I don't know when he will come out."

Xiao Ze was also at a loss. If it were their Xiao family, it wouldn't be a problem. But, that’s the Yun family, so that’s a bit difficult. The four major families have lived in peace for many years. It would be fine if the head of the Yun family was away, but unfortunately, he is in seclusion.

"Brother Xiao, can you take me to the Yun family? Don't worry, I won't get you into trouble. I just can't find where the Yun family is."

An Ran suddenly thought of something and excitedly pulled Xiao Ze to beg.

Xiao Ze looked hesitant, but when he saw An Ran looking haggard and pleading, he nodded involuntarily.

Well, I'll just protect her when the time comes.

An Ran cried with joy. She agreed on a departure time with Xiao Ze, asked the nurse to take good care of Lin Qingwan, and hurried back to the Lin family's old house.

She wants to arrange her mother's affairs before leaving.

As An Ran drove to the gate of the Lin family's old house, she saw Ji Qiubai wandering at the gate.

After Ji Qiubai heard that Lin Qingwan was unconscious, he came to the door of the Lin family's old house. He has been here for a while, but has been hesitating and wandering here.

Thinking of what happened back then, his mouth felt slightly bitter. It's all my own fault that I've come to this point.

He heard the sound of a car roaring, looked up, and saw An Ran driving towards him. He made up his mind and reached out to stop An Ran.

An Ran looked at Ji Qiubai with a cold expression. Perhaps he was hit by Xu Yueqing's incident. He had more white hair on his head and looked much older.

"What's up?"

An Ran spoke coldly.

Ji Qiubai said with a wry smile.

"An Ran, you don't have to be so hostile to me."

An Ran had something on her mind and didn't want to argue with him any further, so she spoke.

"If you have nothing else to do, please move aside. I'm busy."

After saying that, she restarted the car and prepared to go back.

"An Ran, I might know something about why your mother got into trouble."

An Ran's heart shuddered when she heard that. She looked at Ji Qiubai with cold eyes, and Ji Qiubai nodded at her.

"Come in."

An Ran took Ji Qiubai all the way to Mr. Lin's study. She explained the situation to Mr. Lin and then asked Ji Qiubai to sit down.

Ji Qiubai looked at everything in the room. He had been here before when he was still the son-in-law of the Lin family, and the study was still the same as before. Unfortunately, things have changed.

"Ji Qiubai, do you know why Qingwan got into trouble?"

Mr. Lin stared at him sharply, trying to read something from his face.

"Yes, I should know."

"Oh, what are your conditions?"

Ji Qiubai smiled bitterly, shook his head slowly, and looked out the window with a distant gaze, as if he wanted to see something through the sky outside the window.

"Since I was an only child in my family, I was spoiled and arrogant, lawless, and a well-known second-generation rich kid. People around me are very annoyed with me. In their eyes, I am a useless dandy who can't get anything done."

An Ran couldn't help feeling a little impatient when she heard Ji Qiubai talking about his childhood. She frowned and said.

"If you are here to reminisce about the past, please go back. We don't have time to listen to your stories."

Ji Qiubai was stunned when he heard this, smiled bitterly, and was about to explain. Mr. Lin interjected.

"It's okay, go ahead!"

So Ji Qiubai continued his story.

"When I was fifteen, I met Qingwan at a dinner party. She was wearing a white princess dress and sitting there playing the piano. She was as noble and elegant as an angel."

A smile appeared on Ji Qiubai's face, recalling the good old days.

"At that time, I had an argument with several rich kids. They all called me a second-generation rich kid and a hopeless person. I was looked down upon by people all around me and my face turned red. At this time, Qingwan stopped playing and walked towards me. She told me to correct my mistakes and learn from them. Talents are born to be useful, and no one is born a bad guy or a fool."

"Her beautiful eyes were filled with kindness and encouragement, but not disdain or contempt. She was like a ray of light in my life, illuminating my world."

"From then on, I changed my ways, became humble and polite, worked hard to learn, and improved myself. Because I had a dream in my heart. I was afraid that I would not be worthy of her in the future."

Old Master Lin nodded. The young Qingwan was very outstanding and kind.

"Finally one day, she became my bride. I was ecstatic. No one knew how happy and blessed I was at that time. Although my mother had some opinions about her because of the child, I also tried my best to protect her."

An Ran looked at Ji Qiubai talking about the past, with a happy glow on his face, and couldn't help but ask.

"If you love her so much, why did you kill my mother?"

Ji Qiubai's expression darkened, and he once again resented the injustice of heaven.

"That year, I came back from a two-month business trip. Qingwan was in a bad mood because she had a dirty fight with my mother at home, so I took her to the resort to relax."

Ji Qiubai clenched his hands tightly, with pain and humiliation on his face.

"After dinner, we walked hand in hand by the lake. The night was beautiful that day, and we were in a good mood. Suddenly, a man floated over from the other side of the lake. Yes, he floated over from the surface of the lake. We all thought we had encountered a ghost and were so scared that we stood there in a daze. The man was very handsome, but his eyes were red and his breathing was rapid."

As he spoke, he glanced at An Ran obscurely and continued.

"He waved his hand and I was thrown to the ground. When I came to my senses, he had already taken Qingwan and flew away. I didn't dare to make a sound, so I could only look for her everywhere in fear. Finally, when it was almost dawn, I found Qingwan unconscious in a remote hut."

When Mr. Lin and An Ran heard this, they showed disbelief on their faces.

"No way, you're lying."

An Ran couldn't help but retort.

Ji Qiubai looked at An Ran with complicated eyes and then spoke.

"Now that things have come to this, there is nothing for me to make up. I found your mother that day and took her back quietly. After she woke up, she didn't remember what happened, so I didn't mention it again. It's not her fault that this happened."

"Then, that night I was on a business trip for two months for company matters. However, I received the news that your mother was pregnant. Everyone thought the child was mine, but I was the only one who knew it wasn't."

"I think this is a good idea. My mother will never embarrass Qingwan because of the child again. I am also looking forward to the birth of the child with joy. I love Qingwan, so even if the child is not mine, I am willing to accept it. After all, no one knows, right?"
