Jiang Qingyan took out a few sacks and sorted the herbs with the aunts. The team leader and Tang Shiyan were responsible for recording the quantity and type of herbs found for each of them in a notebook.
The team leader said: "Don't worry, since the herbs I found for each of you are all recorded in this notebook, when the herbs are sold, the money will be distributed according to the record here."
"I won't give anyone more or less, just the amount you get."
"I'll take Tang Yatou and Jiang Zhiqing to town to sell medicinal herbs later, so you won't think I'm going to embezzle your money."
They cleaned all the herbs and packed them into sacks. There were five big sacks in total. Although they didn't find any precious herbs, these few bags could be sold for thousands of dollars.
It's better than working on the farm every day. If they only rely on those work points, some people really can't even get enough to eat, let alone send their children to school.
After the others packed the herbs, they carried their baskets and continued to go to the back mountain to look for herbs. They had become very familiar with the area over the past few days and could clearly tell what herbs were and what their effects were.
In the future, if someone in the family has a cold or cough, they will know what herbs to pick to treat them.
The captain said, "Girl Tang, come here for a moment. I brought this loan agreement. We've already signed it, and we're just waiting for your signature."
Tang Shiyan took it and looked at it. It was written as she had said before, so she signed it. Of course, the document was copied to the branch secretary, the accountant, the team leader, and Tang Shiyan.
"Uncle Captain, I've checked and signed everything. I'll keep one copy for myself and you can keep one. You can give the other two copies to the branch secretary and the accountant."
"Okay, girl Tang."
The team leader went to Uncle Jiang's house and asked Uncle Jiang to take them to the town. Tang Shiyan and Jiang Qingyan were waiting there.
Jiang Qingyan: "Comrade Tang, you are amazing. If you hadn't come up with this idea, I guess everyone would still be working so hard to earn those few work points to support their families."
"This village will eventually become prosperous because of you. Then you will be a great hero in this village."
"I don't want to be a hero, but I see those cute kids staying at home all day, either working or doing chores."
"It's quite pitiful to see people who don't have money to go to school. If you don't have some knowledge and culture, you won't be able to have a good future."
"So children nowadays must go to school to learn more knowledge instead of staying at home doing housework and farm work all day."
"I learned the names and effects of some medicinal herbs from books, and I found some while collecting firewood in the back mountains."
"That's why I came up with this idea. Let them all find some medicinal herbs to sell. This will allow their children to go to school and their lives to be better. At least they can fill their stomachs."
"Comrade Tang, you're such a kind person. You're always thinking about how to make their lives better and how to send their children to school. You're always thinking about them."
"But some of those aunts just don't know what's good for them. They just pick on you all day long. Some even slander you behind your back."
"I really don't know what's in their heads. Is it feces?"
"You're trying to find ways to help them earn money and live a good life. That's for their own good, and you don't gain anything from it."
"Not only do they not appreciate it, but they also come to pick fights with you or cause trouble all day long."
"Jiang Zhiqing, it's okay. No matter who he is now, if he comes to pick a fight with me again, I will kick him out and not let him participate in any other way to make money in the future."
"Since he doesn't know what's good for him, then let him continue to suffer. It has nothing to do with me anyway."
"Yes, Comrade Tang, people like that deserve to live a hard life like that, the kind where they never have enough to eat."
After a while, the team leader and Uncle Jiang came driving a ox cart, and several people loaded five large bags of medicinal materials onto the ox cart.
Uncle Jiang took them to the town in an ox cart, while Tang Shiyan went back to her home, rode her bicycle, and followed behind the ox cart.
It took more than an hour to reach the town. When they arrived at the door of the herbal medicine shop, Tang Shiyan parked her bicycle and walked into the shop.
Cheng Jianhua was sitting inside eating melon seeds and drinking tea. When he saw Tang Shiyan coming, he immediately stood up and walked over.
"Girl Tang, you're finally here. It's been so long since we last saw you. Your aunt and I missed you so much."
"Uncle Cheng, I'm here, aren't I?"
"I brought a lot of medicinal herbs here today. Don't be too surprised when you see them later."
"Oh, take me to see what medicinal herbs you brought?"
Tang Shiyan took Cheng Jianhua out of the store. When Cheng Jianhua saw several large bags of medicinal herbs on the ox cart, he was stunned.
"Girl Tang, you haven't been here for such a long time. It turns out you prepared so many medicinal herbs."
"Uncle Cheng, I didn't find these herbs myself. I led them all to look for them. I also wanted the people in our village to have better living conditions."
"So that their children can go to school, I told them about the medicinal herbs I found in the back mountain and took them to look for them."
"I didn't expect that a little girl like you would be so thoughtful. When you make money, you think about everyone else. You worry about other families not having enough to eat and their children not being able to go to school."
"If it were someone else, they would just want to make more money and not care about what others do."
"It seems that the people in your village are very lucky to have met such a wonderful girl like you."
