Chapter 30 Spend 30
After putting Tang Ximian on the bed, covering him with a quilt, and turning on the bedside lamp, Tang Li sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. Afraid that he would have a fever, he touched his head and looked at Tang Ximian's red cheeks. Although he looked dizzy, he was still muttering to himself that he could drink a lot. Then he smiled softly.
"Yes, yes, yes. Mianmian can drink more than her brother. Go to sleep. You won't feel dizzy when you wake up."
The setting sun in the sky looks like blood, and the afterglow is pouring down.
Si Yankai rushed back as the sun was setting. With trembling fingers, he pressed the familiar string of numbers on the combination lock. With a soft "click", the door opened.
Inside, the light was softly shining. Tang Li, dressed in gray home clothes, sat upright, his slender fingers gently holding the teacup, sipping the fragrant tea. Seeing Si Yankai come in, he nodded slightly.
Seeing Tang Li still leisurely drinking tea here, Si Yankai slowly calmed down. He first glanced downstairs, and after confirming that it was quiet, he breathed a sigh of relief. He turned to look at Tang Li, his voice filled with suppressed anxiety: "What happened to Mianmian?"
Tang Li raised his hand and rubbed his eyebrows, pointed to the empty seat opposite, and motioned Si Yankai to sit down.
After Si Yankai sat down, he spoke in a calm and steady tone: "As I said before, a few drunks were causing trouble. One of them pulled out a dagger, but Mianmian found out and was not hurt. Delish asked the restaurant security to drive him away, and I have already asked someone to deal with it. As for Mianmian being drunk..."
At this point, Tang Li frowned slightly, his eyes full of annoyance, "I was negligent. I didn't expect the alcohol content of the wine Delixi brought was too high. He only drank one glass and he passed out."
Si Yankai clasped his hands tightly, his knuckles turning white. After taking a deep breath, he tried to make his voice sound calmer. "I know you didn't mean it, but I hope you won't let him drink next time. He doesn't know his alcohol tolerance and is prone to getting into trouble. I hope Brother Li will pay more attention to the person who pulled out the dagger."
Tang Li nodded.
"So how is it now? Is Mianmian asleep? Do you have a fever?"
"He just went to bed. I don't think he's seriously injured. He's just very sleepy from the alcohol." Tang Li said softly, his eyes gentle. "Don't blame him. It's my fault for not making proper arrangements. Besides, it was those thugs who provoked him first. Mian Mian acted in self-defense."
Si Yankai said he understood, "I know, Brother Li, I'll go up and see him first."
Pushing open the door, the room was dimly lit. Si Yankai walked to the bed in the faint light and slowly sat on the chair beside the bed.
Looking at Tang Ximian's flushed face, his usually lively eyes were now tightly closed, his long eyelashes casting a small shadow on his eyelids. Si Yankai gently stroked his forehead with his hands, as gentle as if he were treating a rare treasure, and murmured softly: "Baby, don't scare me again in the future... If you hadn't seen him pull out the dagger, I wouldn't dare to think about it. I wouldn't dare to leave you for too long in the future, but I also know that you have to overcome your own shadows and reduce your dependence on me. But I still don't want to let go, baby, if only you could become smaller, I could put you in my pocket, carry you with me all the time, and protect you for the rest of my life..."
"Brother, why haven't you gone to work yet?" Tang Ximian was still damp from the bathroom, and he felt much more sober. When he saw Tang Li and thought about how he got drunk last night, he felt a little timid.
Tang Li put down the remote control and looked back at him, "It's the weekend today, give yourself a day off, come and sit down."
"Oh, what about Si Yankai? Why isn't he in the room?"
Tang Ximian sat down obediently and changed the subject.
Tang Li poured him a glass of warm water. "He must have gone out for a run. He made breakfast in the kitchen. Go have some."
"Then I'm going to eat. Brother, won't you join me?"
"I've eaten, you eat now!"
"Okay!" Tang Ximian had crispy lettuce in his mouth and a delicious soup dumpling in his hand, and he felt that his rumbling stomach had finally come back to life.
