Chapter 16 Spend Time Together
"Classmates, get out of class is over."
"Xi Mian, please stay for a moment." The teacher at the podium was packing up the lesson plans and suddenly spoke.
Tang Ximian looked up and saw the teacher waving at him. He closed his sketchbook and, as he stood up, accidentally knocked over the pencil holder, sending several pencils tumbling to the floor. He bent down to pick them up, but heard a soft laugh behind him.
"Be careful, little fool."
Without turning around, she knew it was Si Yankai. Tang Ximian turned around and glared at him, then quickly picked up the pencil and put it away before walking towards the podium.
The other two students were already standing there, they were Lin Yutong and Zhang Zixuan from other classes.
"There's a national college art competition coming up soon, and the theme is 'Hope and Redemption.'" The teacher pushed his glasses up. "You three have solid basic skills and a mature style. I'd like to recommend you to participate."
Tang Ximian felt his heart skip a beat. This national competition was no joke. He subconsciously glanced back in Si Yankai's direction. He was sitting in front of his painting supplies, looking at something.
"Time is tight; your work is due next month," the teacher continued. "Please prepare well. Feel free to discuss any ideas you have with me."
By the time he left the classroom, it was already dark. Tang Ximian clutched his sketchbook, his mind a mess. "Hope and Redemption," such an abstract theme, what should he draw?
"What are you daydreaming about?" Someone suddenly patted her shoulder. Tang Ximian was startled and turned around to see Si Yankai's annoying face.
"No, I was thinking about the game."
"Take your time. Didn't you say you would pay it next month? Let's go eat first." Si Yankai held Tang Ximian's bag in one hand and Tang Ximian's hand in the other, and walked slowly towards the cafeteria.
After dinner, Si Yankai went to his professional class, while Tang Ximian returned to the studio alone to conceive his own work.
Hope and redemption?
Perhaps draw the North Star? After all, in ancient times, lost people relied on it to find their way. For those lost in the darkness, this star also represents a hope of life.
Tang Ximian thought for a long time before deciding to write.
"Do you want to draw the starry sky?" The sudden voice startled Tang Ximian, who was concentrating on drawing. He turned around and found it was Zhang Zixuan.

Zhang Zixuan nodded and returned to his seat without saying anything.
Tang Ximian didn't care and continued to devote himself to painting. After painting for several days, he finally finished it.
The next day, when Tang Ximian returned to the studio again, the scene before him stunned him for a moment.
The paint on the canvas was smeared carelessly, the originally delicate brushstrokes were roughly destroyed, and the entire painting almost became a chaotic block of color. His heart sank suddenly, and his fingers trembled slightly. He couldn't believe what he saw.
"How could this happen..." He muttered softly, his mind going blank.
Just then, Zhang Zixuan walked in, holding a painting in his hand and a smug smile on his face. Tang Ximian's eyes fell on the painting in his hand, and his pupils suddenly contracted - the composition, color, and even the details of the painting were almost exactly the same as his destroyed painting, with only a few minor changes.
"Zhang Zixuan, you..." Tang Ximian's voice trembled a little, and his fists were clenched tightly.
Henry Zhang shrugged and said lightly, "What's wrong? This is my work, is there a problem?"
Tang Ximian's chest heaved violently, anger burning in his heart.
