Chapter 18 Spend 18
Tang Ximian stood in the studio, his brush gently moving across the canvas, delicate strokes outlining a soft light. The light was not dazzling, but seemed to be slowly pouring down from a distant place, with a warm temperature that seemed to dispel all the haze.
His eyes were focused, but his thoughts involuntarily drifted back to that night - a night he would never forget.
That year, something happened and I had big psychological problems. Also, because my family was desperately trying to save the company that was framed, no one noticed that I was doing something wrong and just thought I was just unhappy for a while.
By the time they realized what had happened, came to their senses, and noticed me, I could no longer speak. I felt as if I had fallen into deep despair and helplessness. I felt darkness all around me, and even breathing became difficult. I woke up from nightmares every day and night, gasping for breath, and couldn't sleep.
But one night, Si Yankai appeared. He seemed to have heard my scream that woke me up, and he came over wearing thin pajamas, holding a small flashlight in his hand.
The light from the flashlight was not bright, even a little weak, but in Tang Ximian's eyes, it was as if the light of the whole world gathered there. Si Yankai didn't say anything, just stood quietly beside me, accompanying me night after night. Slowly, I seemed to see the light again, and suddenly realized that I was not alone.
Although they had been apart for a while, they had grown up together after all. Although they were always bickering and neither of them would give in, Tang Ximian knew in his heart that Si Yankai had long been the most important person in his life. That beam of light was not just a flashlight in Si Yankai's hand, but also the hope and reliance in his heart.
After the painting was completed, Tang Ximian looked at it quietly, with an indescribable emotion welling up in his heart.
He knew that he might have become too dependent on Si Yankai, but he had no regrets, because that beam of light had already become an indispensable part of his life.
Perhaps, one day, when I face what happened back then, I will be able to truly move on and walk up to him.
He sighed softly and whispered to himself: "Si Yankai, you annoying guy...but why can't I leave you?"
The door of the studio was gently pushed open, and Si Yankai walked in with a cup of hot milk tea in his hand.
He glanced at Tang Ximian's painting and was stunned, but forced himself to look away. He pretended to know nothing and said in his usual banter, "Oh, it's a good painting, but the light is too dim. Do you want me to lend you your flashlight to look at it again?"
Tang Ximian rolled his eyes, but couldn't help but raise the corner of his mouth: "Don't give me that, my light is unique, I don't want the light of your broken flashlight."
Si Yankai smiled and handed him the coffee: "Okay, okay, as long as you are happy. Just give it to the teacher directly, so that no villains will cause trouble again."
Tang Ximian took the coffee, took a sip, and then his eyes fell on the canvas again. He whispered, "No, because... I have you."
Si Yankai was stunned for a moment, then smiled and ruffled his hair: "When did you learn to say such cheesy words?"
Tang Ximian did not answer, but just quietly looked at the beam of light in the painting, his heart at peace. He knew that no matter what the future held, that beam of light would always illuminate his path.
