Chapter 75 Spend Time Together
Tang Ximian made up his mind, turned around and walked towards the car, dragging his painting box.
The car door closed behind him with a "swish", isolating the cold air outside.
The bustle in the car was overwhelming, and the students were excitedly discussing their destination.
Tang Ximian found his seat, next to the window.
He put the painting box at his feet and the other things on the luggage rack above, sat down and turned his face to the window.
Si Yankai was still standing not far from the car, his figure upright, like a quiet tree in the cool rain.
He raised his hand slightly towards the car window.
Tang Ximian also quickly raised his hand and waved, his nose feeling a little sore.
The bus started slowly, and Si Yankai's figure became smaller and smaller in the rearview mirror, finally disappearing around the corner.
"Oh..." A long sigh filled with deep sorrow slipped out of Tang Ximian's mouth uncontrollably.
He felt as if all his bones had been pulled out of him. He leaned listlessly against the back of his chair, looking at the familiar campus scenery rapidly receding outside the window, his eyes empty.
A month, 31 days! And he might not even be back on time! How can I get through this? Si Yankai, that workaholic, developed a stomach ailment during the winter break when I didn't keep an eye on him.
Now that no one is watching him for a month, will he forget to eat again and get a stomachache?
The library was so cold, would he be so foolish as to wear so little again? And… thoughts popped up one after another like bubbles, immersing him in a sour water called "missing".
Obviously, in everyone's eyes, Si Yankai is a mature and excellent adult who can take good care of himself, but during this time in Tang Ximian, he seems to have become a child who can't take care of himself.
"Hey, what's wrong with our great talent Tang? He's already brewing melancholy artistic emotions before we even get to the destination?"
A freshly opened bag of potato chips was handed over from the seat next to me. It was Yu Shu who had been sitting next to me reading for a while.
Tang Ximian glanced at him weakly, not even able to muster the energy to argue: "What the hell are you planning... I'm just feeling homesick, understand?"
"I know, I know! It's just a temporary separation from your boyfriend!"
Yu Shu understood everything and stuffed the bag of potato chips directly into Tang Ximian's arms. "Come on, turn your sorrow into appetite! There's always someone better out there, no...it's 'a brief separation is for a better reunion'! Eat some potato chips, replenish your energy, and instantly reduce your sadness by 50%!"
The rich tomato smell of potato chips penetrated my nose.
Tang Ximian hesitated for a moment, but still couldn't resist the temptation. He reached out and grabbed a handful and stuffed it into his mouth, chewing it with a loud crunching sound, as if he was chewing away the depression in his heart.
"What the hell is this reunion?" he asked vaguely, but his tone was obviously not as depressed as before.
"Don't worry about it, it's just a buzzword on the Internet."
Yu Shu smiled and took out his phone immediately after seeing his mood improve. "Don't worry, brother. It's only been a month. Just draw some more, watch some dramas and play some games. It will pass in the blink of an eye! Come on, let me recommend something good to you. It will definitely make you forget the pain of missing me!"
He thrust his phone screen in front of Tang Ximian's eyes like he was presenting a treasure. "This tower-pushing game is super popular lately! It's so easy to get started, and so addictive! The thrill of getting a pentakill is even better than painting a masterpiece! I'll take you flying!"
The colorful game interface on the screen made Tang Ximian a little dizzy.
He used to like playing games, but he plays less after he started dating, and if he does, it's only two-player games.
After all, being with your boyfriend is really fun.
At this moment, looking at Yu Shu's excited face, listening to the excited conversations of the classmates around me, feeling the slight bumps of the bus heading towards an unknown distance... the heavy sadness in my heart seemed to be really diluted a little by the greasiness of the potato chips and the noise of Yu Shu.
Maybe... a little distraction would be nice? At least I wouldn't have to keep thinking about that guy far away on campus.
He took Yu Shu's phone and saw a little man waving a weapon on the screen.
"How... do we play this?" He frowned and asked with a bit of curiosity.
"It's simple! Look, do it like this... like this... then just rush up and do it!" Yu Shu immediately turned into a passionate coach and began to explain with saliva flying.
The bus was driving smoothly on the highway, and the scenery outside the window gradually became unfamiliar.
Tang Ximian clumsily controlled the little character in the game. Under Yu Shu's shouting commands, he rushed forward again and again, and was beaten back to the fountain to be resurrected again and again.
The taste of potato chips still lingered in his mouth, and in his ears were Yu Shu's exaggerated shouts of "Oh no, he's dead again!" and "Beautiful! This wave is good!", as well as the laughter and playfulness of other students in the car.
The emptiness in my heart seemed to be filled a little bit by these noisy and vivid sounds.
He looked down at the little man on the phone screen that had turned gray again, and subconsciously touched the small plastic bag containing medicine in his pocket.
What is Si Yankai doing now? He should be thinking about me too, right?
A slightly sweet and sour warm current quietly flows through my heart, diluting the brief noise brought by the game.
A month seems really... a bit long.
