Chapter 3 Spend Time Together 3
The air conditioning in the convenience store was turned on very high, and Tang Ximian sighed comfortably as soon as he entered the door.
He ran straight to the freezer and was about to take out a bottle of ice cola when he was stopped by Si Yankai.
"Get the room temperature one."
Si Yankai put the iced cola back and took out a bottle of room temperature cola. "This?"
"That's ok! At least it's not mineral water."
Tang Ximian leaned lazily against the freezer, watching Si Yankai take out two bottles of room-temperature mineral water and a bottle of room-temperature cola. His eyes glanced at the snack rack next to him, and he immediately stood up to take a look.
Si Yankai watched him circling around in front of the shelves like a small animal looking for food.
He remembered that when he was a child, Tang Ximian was like this too, always liking to shuttle between the shelves, stuffing everything he wanted to buy into the shopping cart, and then looking at him eagerly.
"Jelly, give me a pack of cherry blossom flavored or soda flavored potato chips? Take a few packs and try." Tang Ximian muttered as he shopped.
The boss next to him smiled and said, "This is a new flavor we just introduced. My daughter said it's delicious!"
"Really? Then I'll try it."
Si Yankai shook his head helplessly and went over to pick up the snacks that were about to fall.
"You can't eat it all at once, understand?"
"I know, I know. Don't worry."
Tang Ximian was holding a bunch of snacks and smiling happily.
After paying the bill, the two walked side by side on the tree-lined path of the campus. The September breeze was slightly cool.
Tang Ximian tightened his windbreaker, tore open the bag of cherry-flavored potato chips, and suddenly asked, "Hey, Si Yankai, what do you want to do in the future?"
"Inherit the family business and live off the parents." Si Yankai said expressionlessly.
"Ah? Uncle, do you know?"
Tang Ximian's pupils dilated when he heard this, and he even stopped the potato chips in his hand at his mouth.
"You believe that? I'll probably work in finance," Si Yankai said with a smile. "Or maybe I'll work hard and start my own business."
"Right! That's exactly you." Tang Ximian curled her lips, "But aren't you afraid of being bored looking at numbers all day long?"
"Don't you have it?"
"That's right. Mu Jiu and the others all said that they would never be bored as long as I was around!" Tang Ximian raised his head proudly.
"What about you?" Si Yankai asked.
"I want to open an art gallery."
When asked about his future aspirations, Tang Ximian's eyes lit up. "Exhibit the works of emerging artists, giving talented people the opportunity to showcase their work. If possible, I'd also like to create a small space within the museum to display my works from childhood to adulthood. It would be best if I could also display that ugly sculpture I made for you when you were little, so everyone can see it..."
Si Yankai listened quietly and watched him describe his ideal with his hands and feet gesticulating.
The sunlight shone through the gaps in the leaves onto his face, making him look like he was glowing.
"......You must come to support me when the time comes!" Tang Ximian said, turning to look at Si Yankai.
"Okay," Si Yankai said, "I'll invest in you."
"Really?" Tang Ximian looked at him in surprise and presented the potato chips in her hand to him.
"Big Boss, please have some chips."
Si Yankai smiled helplessly and took a piece to eat.
"I'll really invest in you, but there's a condition."
"What conditions?"
"Let me be your first client," Si Yankai said. "I want to buy all your works and keep them as treasures."
Tang Ximian was stunned for a moment, then laughed: "Then you are going bankrupt."
"No." Si Yankai looked at Tang Ximian jokingly, "Master Tang's future works will be worth it."
Tang Ximian felt his heart skip a beat.
He lowered his head, pretending to concentrate on eating potato chips, but he couldn't hide the redness of his ears.
Si Yankai looked at him, his lips slightly raised.
He knew that there were some things that they both knew, and they were just waiting for an opportunity.
