Chapter 93 Spend Time Together
For their honeymoon, Si Yankai and Tang Ximian did not choose a luxury cruise ship or a five-star hotel to travel around the world. Instead, they went on a honeymoon trip completely according to their own ideas.
Under the Tuscan sun, their rented farmhouse has an outdoor stone swimming pool and a garden filled with rosemary and sage.
In the evening, they drove up a small hill and watched the sunset dye the rolling vineyards and ancient castles into magnificent colors like molten gold.
Tang Ximian pointed excitedly into the distance: "Yankai! Look! What a red sunset!"
Si Yankai hugged him from behind and rested his chin on his shoulder. "Yeah, it looks good."
Tang Ximian turned around and looked at Si Yankai. The two of them slowly approached each other and shared a passionate kiss under the gorgeous sunset.
That night was a gorgeous and memorable night.
The journey along Route 66 was full of American casualness and ruggedness. They drove a rented Mustang sports car with the windows rolled down and country music blasted at full volume.
In some obscure Arizona town, they stopped to eat cowboy steaks bigger than their faces;
In the wilderness of Texas, they stopped the car and watched an incredibly magnificent sunset side by side. The sky and the earth were so vast that it seemed as if there were only the two of them.
The motels we stayed in each had their own unique characteristics, some with flashing neon lights, and some full of retro feelings.
Tang Ximian would always explore every room curiously, then throw herself on the large bed, laughing and saying she was tired, but she would also pull Si Yankai to explore the town's night bars.
When the last leg of the journey returned to China and landed in the southwest of the motherland, a familiar sense of intimacy enveloped them.
They stayed in a comfortable homestay, and the rural scenery was right outside the door, and the pace of life slowed down completely.
In the morning, they walked hand in hand on the path, bought many small and exquisite things, and also bought a lot of flowers and fresh mushrooms, preparing to make mushroom soup in the evening; in the afternoon, they drank tea and read books on the terrace of the inn, or did nothing but snuggle and watch the clouds roll by.
In the evening, the two of them, full of energy from the delicious mushroom soup, went out for another walk.
Seeing an old Mosuo woman selling handwoven garlands on the roadside, Si Yankai bought one and placed it on Tang Ximian's head. Wearing the garland, Tang Ximian gazed at the lake, dyed pink and purple by the sunset glow, and suddenly whispered, "Yankai, let's go home." Not to the hotel, but to their home, with its green ivy, its ugly pillow, and its sense of belonging.
Thus, the month-long honeymoon came to an end.
The two returned to their home covered in dust and with a camera full of photos and memories.
The sound of the key turning in the lock seemed particularly familiar. Pushing open the door, a familiar smell hit me.
The fatigue from the long flight seemed to dissipate instantly.
On the balcony, the green radish and mint that Tang Ximian had carefully cared for before leaving were not only alive, but even more lush. It was obvious that Tang Li or his assistant had come to take care of them regularly.
On the sofa, the funny-looking Shiba Inu pillow that Tang Ximian had snatched from his brother was still lying crookedly in its old position.
Everything remains the same as when they left, but is filled with a deeper sense of "belonging".
This is no longer just an apartment where they live together, but the starting point and end point of their long and sweet journey, a home they want to return to no matter how far they go.
Tang Ximian kicked off his shoes, ran inside barefoot, threw himself into the soft sofa, and sighed contentedly: "Home is still the most comfortable!"
Si Yankai put down his luggage with a smile, walked over and leaned over to look at him.
The fatigue from the journey caused some dark circles under his eyes, but his eyes were surprisingly bright, full of peace and happiness.
Tang Ximian reached out, hooked her hands around his neck, pulled him close, and rested their foreheads against each other.
"The honeymoon is officially over, Mr. Si."
Si Yankai kissed the tip of his nose, his voice filled with endless laughter and tenderness: "Yeah. Baby, welcome home."
Outside the window, the city lights gradually light up, like a galaxy on the earth.
And in their cozy home, a warm glow enveloped each other, and the long and stable daily life in the future had just begun.
