Chapter 21 Spend Time Together

Chapter 21 Spend Time Together

Looking at the obvious bruises under Si Yankai's eyes, Tang Ximian felt sad, and also blamed herself for not exercising regularly and getting sick so often.

After gently covering Si Yankai with the quilt, Tang Ximian tiptoed to another room to wash up, and then walked downstairs quietly.

"Xiaomian, you woke up so early? How are you? Are you still having a fever?" Ye Shuyun, who was having breakfast, put down her spoon as soon as she saw Tang Ximian, pulled Tang Ximian over, touched his head, and nodded. "It seems that you don't have a fever anymore."

"Uncle, it's okay. I feel refreshed now. It's just that Si Yankai took care of me all night and fell asleep because he was tired." Tang Ximian touched his nose embarrassedly.

"Let Xiao Si have a good sleep. Remember to thank him. Come and have breakfast first. I made you some light porridge."

Mo Ziyan nodded in agreement.

Tang Ximian was puzzled, "Why are you the only one here? Where are the other two?"

"No, I heard their voices in the middle of the night. They probably went to bed in the early morning." Mo Ziyan couldn't stop eating the crab roe buns.

"Have breakfast first. Your stomach is still not feeling well. We can talk later after eating."

When the sun was about to set, Si Yankai slowly woke up. When he walked downstairs, he didn't see a single person.

Hearing faint noises coming from the kitchen, he turned into the kitchen and saw Tang Ximian wearing an apron and standing in front of the stove with a nervous look on her face. Si Yankai stood there in a daze.

Tang Ximian didn't usually cook, rarely even entering the kitchen. Yet, she was determined to do something to take care of her lover. She frantically cut the vegetables, imitating the way her mother cooked soup in her memory. She nearly cut her hand several times, and when she finally put the food in the pot, she gasped from the splattered oil.

I don’t know how long it took me to finally get this soup that looks so bad.

When Tang Ximian saw Si Yankai coming in, his attention was immediately diverted.

"Si Yankai, are you awake? I'm telling you that I actually managed to make a pot of soup by myself! I'm finally not a kitchen killer anymore!" Tang Ximian was so proud that he even forgot that he was still holding a soup spoon in his hand, and kept gesturing with his hands.

Si Yankai smiled gently, walked into the kitchen, and patted his head. "Baby, you're amazing. You can even make soup by yourself. Why do you want to make soup by yourself? What about the others?"

Tang Ximian hurriedly explained, "My uncle went to visit a good friend and won't be back tonight. My aunt took a leave of absence for something at home. Mu Jiu and the others went back to their school to participate in a competition. It's just the two of us having dinner. I thought of making some soup... Although it doesn't look very good, it should taste okay. You can try it." As he said that, he filled a bowl and handed it over.

Si Yankai took it and took a sip. His taste buds were struck by the unsophisticated cooking skills, but he was happy with it. He hugged Tang Ximian into his arms, rested his chin on the top of his head, and sighed: "It tastes very good. Thank you for your hard work, my baby."

"Really? I also think it should be...not...not bad." Tang Ximian was hugged blankly, and her face turned red all of a sudden.

“I actually fried corn, carrots and pork, but when I was halfway through, the corn turned black and had a burnt smell.

To avoid wasting food, I stopped cooking.”

"It's okay, you're already great. Let me do the cooking. How about stir-frying some vegetables and then cooking your favorite boiled beef?" Si Yankai glanced at the ingredients in the refrigerator and arranged tonight's dishes.

Tang Ximian had a full stomach from eating so much that he was half lying on the soft sofa in front of the glass window, watching the snowflakes slowly falling.

After a while, a big hand reached out, pulled him up and wrapped him in a quilt.

Si Yankai held him in his arms through the quilt, nestling in the warm bed with him, enjoying this quiet yet reassuring moment.
