Chapter 1 Spend Time Together 1
In September, the leaves of the sycamore trees have begun to turn yellow.
Si Yankai sat upright on a chair at the new student registration desk, his back straight, his slender fingers casually turning a pen, but his eyes involuntarily drifted towards the familiar figure not far away.
Tang Ximian was talking to a volunteer senior. He was wearing a light blue shirt today, which made his skin look even whiter.
The sunlight shone on him through the gaps in the leaves, dancing on the ends of his soft hair.
Si Yankai narrowed his eyes and recalled the scene when he first met Tang Ximian when he was a child.
They were only six years old at that time, and Tang Ximian had just moved next door.
The little boy was holding a cute teddy bear, standing timidly at the door, with tears in his eyes that were about to fall.
Si Yankai still remembered that when he first met him, he felt a little disgusted with this delicate child, but for some reason, his eyes would always be on him and could never be shifted away.
"Hey, what are you daydreaming about?"
A clear voice interrupted his recollection.
Tang Ximian had walked up to him at some point, holding a stack of new student information in his hand.
Si Yankai raised his eyebrows: "I'm thinking about whether I should pretend not to know you."
"That's perfect," Tang Ximian slammed the information on his desk. "I don't want anyone to know that I know someone who can't even fill out the application form incorrectly."
Si Yankai looked down and found that he had filled in the wrong dormitory building number.
He coughed lightly and corrected the answer as if nothing had happened: "We're going to live together in the end anyway, so what if I fill it in wrong?"
"Who wants to live with you!" Tang Ximian's eyes widened. "I clearly applied for a single room!"
"Oh?" Si Yankai gave a meaningful smile.
"That might disappoint you. There are very few single rooms in the school dormitories, and there aren't enough of them. And...
I just saw the dormitory assignment list, and we're assigned to the same double dormitory.
Seeing Tang Ximian's face fall instantly, Si Yankai was in a good mood.
He slowly gathered up the documents on the table, stood up, and ruffled the man's hair. "Come on, I'll show you our new dorm."
"Don't touch my hair!"
Tang Ximian angrily slapped his hand away, but still followed him obediently.
Si Yankai looked at the intertwined shadows of the two people on the ground, and the corners of his mouth rose unconsciously.
The dormitory is on the sixth floor, which is a bit high but has good lighting.
The two beds were placed side by side, with a large desk in between.
Si Yankai put his luggage by the window and turned around to see Tang Ximian staring at the other bed in a daze.
"What?" He walked over. "Unsatisfied?"
Tang Ximian shook his head and said softly, "It just feels a little unreal. We actually got into the same university and are living in the same dormitory."
Si Yankai looked at his slightly trembling eyelashes and suddenly remembered that rainy night.
Tang Ximian had done very poorly in the college entrance examination mock exam, and was under too much pressure. She was a little emotionally broken and hid alone on the rooftop, crying secretly.
When he found him, it was two or three hours later. He was soaked to the skin, but he still said stubbornly, "I'm fine. Let me rest for a while."
At that moment, his eyes were filled with heartache, and he realized how much pressure Tang Ximian, who had never liked studying before, had endured in order to be admitted to Lingda.
But I didn't consider these.
"Don't think about it. You got in through your own hard work. It really happened."
He reached out and poked Tang Ximian's cheek. "What do you want to eat tonight? It's my treat."
Tang Ximian slapped his hand away, but her eyes lit up: "Really? I want to eat the sweet and sour pork from that place we ate at before! And the grilled lamb chops!"
"Okay," Si Yankai looked at him with a smile, "Let's go."
The afterglow of the setting sun shone through the window, casting a warm golden hue on the figures of the two.
Si Yankai thought that this was probably the best arrangement.
They are still together and in the same school. Although they still express their feelings, but... take it slow. Time waits for no one, except for those who are determined.
