Huo Qing's "clucking" sound wasn't loud.
But the phoenix on the glass lamp trembled in fear.
Bai Qingqing didn't notice any of this. After she was satisfied with the carving, she got up and left.
Go wash your hands.
The glass lamp was still shaking.
A small dagger jumped down from the bookshelf, vaguely carrying the silhouette of a wolf cub. (Friendly reminder: For the dagger that stabbed Yun Zhan, see Chapter 114.)
Then it swiped at the glass lamp with its claw.
The shredded phoenix huddled to one side, whimpering pitifully.
"Be calm in front of your master," the wolf cub instructed in a childish voice, baring its tiny teeth.
"Yes." Fire Phoenix nodded repeatedly.
"My name is Wolf Annihilation, a name given to me by Brother Yi Zhan. It means that I can wipe out the entire wolf clan with one hand, and I am the king of the wolf clan," the wolf cub said proudly.
"That's amazing." Fire Phoenix's eyes were full of envy.
"That's right." The wolf cub became even more proud, his chin practically pointing to the sky.
“I also want a name,” Fire Phoenix said.
"I've already thought of an excellent one for you." The wolf cub paused halfway through his sentence, deliberately keeping everyone in suspense.
"What's your name?" Fire Phoenix asked expectantly.
"Phoenix Extinction, how about that? It means you can wipe out the entire Phoenix Clan with one hand, and be the king of the Phoenix Clan." These words sound domineering, but they are accompanied by the wolf cub's childish voice.
Huo Qing couldn't help but cover his face with his wings.
It's shameful, I can't bear to look.
What kind of nonsense did the knife teach the wolf cubs with that one slash?
Fire Phoenix, however, was very excited and nodded repeatedly: "Great, great, I really like this name, thank you, Brother Wolf Annihilation."
"You're welcome, you're welcome. We're all spirits, and we should support each other in the future." The wolf cub pretended to be the big brother, but his childish voice was really not domineering enough.
"Sister Xue doesn't even do anything about Yi Zhan." Mo Xuan lay lazily in its basin.
"Sister Xue, you don't have time at all." Huo Qing raised her wings, covered her mouth and yawned: "I don't even have enough time to read novels every day."
Mo Xuan paused for a moment, then nodded in agreement.
Ever since Sister Xue got those novels, she's been studying them day and night.
They've all stopped doing their proper jobs.
"Sister Xue is busy, but I am." Ling Yuan lazily shook the branches and leaves, then called out in a drawn-out voice, "Nini..."
The next second, Dao Yizhan appeared in front of Ling Yuan in a flash.
"Brother Teng, didn't we agree not to call you by your nickname anymore?" Dao Yizhan said, sounding aggrieved.
"Look what you've done to the wolf cubs!" Ling Yuan sneered.
"Isn't this great?" Dao Yizhan turned his head and glanced at the wolf cub who was chatting enthusiastically with Huo Feng in the study, and said.
"You call this good?" Huo Qing flapped his wings and raised an eyebrow as he asked.
"The little ones are new here, so giving them a name will help them feel a sense of belonging." Dao Yizhan chuckled smugly. "Look at the names we came up with, aren't they awesome?"
The response to the slash from the sword was a claw from Yunlan.
"What's all this noise for in broad daylight? Can't a person get any sleep?" After hitting the person, Yunlan gracefully hopped back up the tree and continued to squint.
The knife was slashed, but Yunlan pushed it into the ground with a claw, and it took her a long time to pull it out.
Then he went back dejectedly.
Mo Xuan crawled out of the shell, stretched, and said, "Nini is afraid of Sister Xue and Sister Hu. As soon as they come out, Nini immediately loses her temper."
“That’s what they call one thing subduing another.” Huo Qing plopped down on the rock, leaning back slightly, looking like a sprawled-out old man.
"Huo Qing, get back here!" Huo Ling roared from the ground.
"Coming!" Huo Qing jumped up quickly, his face full of flattery, and ran back.
Mo Xuan found a brush from somewhere and started brushing his shell while shaking his head and saying, "Indeed, one thing subdues another."
Being single makes you happy.
Being single for a while is great, but being single all the time is even better.
At least there's no tigress.
Yun Zhan was so engrossed in watching it that he forgot to eat and sleep.
Bai Qingqing felt embarrassed to disturb him since he was working so hard.
He then asked Tian Susu to leave a portion of dinner warm in the kitchen for him to eat when he rested.
During the evening entertainment time, Bai Qingqing continued to tell the story of "Journey to the West".
Because I had gone on a long trip before and had been busy with academy matters since returning, I was only able to talk about the part about the havoc in Heaven.
Just as the children were listening with great interest, Yuexi and Zheng Wuhui arrived together.
"Mother, Lord Zheng." Bai Qingqing stood up to greet him.
"Qingqing, did I disturb you?" Yuexi habitually raised her hand to tuck a strand of hair from Bai Qingqing's forehead and smiled gently.
"No." Bai Qingqing took Yuexi's arm. "I was bored after dinner and was telling them stories."
"This is the list of the first class of cultivators in the academy. It has been drafted. Please take a look and see if there are any problems," Yuexi said, taking out a roster and handing it over.
"If it's drafted by Mother, there's definitely no problem." Bai Qingqing took it, flipped through it casually, and smiled.
"You!" Yuexi affectionately tapped Bai Qingqing's forehead.
"However, why aren't the names of my brothers mentioned?" Bai Qingqing asked.
"Hao'er said that you've already given them enough, so he won't compete with those people for the spots," Yuexi said with a smile.
"My elder brothers are always very considerate of others." Bai Qingqing smiled as well. "Since this is what my elder brothers mean, let's keep it that way."
She will make it up to her brothers when she has some free time later.
She held mountains of gold and silver in her hands, so naturally she would let her family enjoy them first before she could think about the world.
“Miss Bai, the academy has been completed. I have done my best to fulfill your expectations,” Zheng Wu Hui said.
"So fast!" Bai Qingqing was a little surprised.
"Thanks to everyone's help," Zheng Wu Hui said. "The old sect leader, Hall Master Luo, the Yun family, the Tang family, and the Taiji Shenluo clan all gave their all in helping us."
"My academy is truly honored." Bai Qingqing smiled. "Thank you for your hard work, City Lord Zheng."
"Miss Bai's establishment of the academy is a blessing to all cultivators. I feel very honored to be able to help supervise its construction, not to say it's hard work," Zheng Wu Hui said loudly, patting his chest.
He has always been such a carefree person.
"Now that the academy is completed, all that's left is to inscribe its name," Zheng Wu Hui added. "I wonder when Miss Bai will have some free time?"
"Then let's do it tomorrow." Bai Qingqing thought for a moment and asked, "I asked City Lord Zheng to prepare the name cards for all the eligible children in the city. Are they all ready?"
“It’s all ready,” Zheng Wu Hui said, taking out a large box from his storage ring. “It’s all here.”
"I don't need it now. Give it to me after the inscription is written tomorrow." Bai Qingqing did not take it.
"Okay." Zheng Wu Hui didn't ask why, and just obediently put it away.
“Then I’ll come find you first thing tomorrow morning, and we’ll go to Tianyuan City together,” Yuexi said, gently stroking Bai Qingqing’s hair.
"Okay." Bai Qingqing nodded, her eyes crinkling with joy. "Then I'll wait for Mother."
