Maybe it was because Dafeng's performance was too good, so I felt a lot of pressure when writing this book, especially since I had never written about this subject before. As we all know, writing requires experience. If you step out of your comfort zone, the experience of the masters will be useless, so the risk of failure is very high.

Yuewen initially wanted me to write fantasy novels, but I did not agree. It’s not that I had to step out of my comfort zone and do something stupid, but I left all my inspiration, accumulation, and creative passion for fantasy novels to Dafeng.

The lack of creative energy is very painful. It is impossible to write high-quality content. If I want to write a fantasy novel, I need several years of experience.

Of course, I can also write another Dafeng, and even many details can be better than Dafeng, but it is bound to lack inspiration. It is better to change the subject and adjust it.

I think this is also the reason why many authors keep jumping out of their comfort zone. There is no big reason, they are just sick of writing about a certain topic.

Life is long, and I will write many books in the future. I can’t just stick to fantasy novels. I also have to write about other subjects and adjust myself.

There will inevitably be ups and downs during this period, which is a normal phenomenon.

When Ling Jing was first published, many people were not optimistic about it, including readers and colleagues. But in fact, its popularity was very good and it almost broke the record.

But there is nothing to be proud of. Publishing is just the beginning. There is still a long way to go. This is just the first step in a long journey. Don’t get too arrogant. If you get too arrogant, you will die. So I have never mentioned the performance of the new book.

I used to be complacent about my achievements, but after writing Dafeng, I felt awe for writing. Only when you stand at a certain height can you know your limits and understand how difficult writing is.

Another thing is, I don’t have any drafts saved. I haven’t had any saved for a long time.

Many readers didn’t believe it and said, “How could a little fat guy like you not have any manuscripts after taking a break for half a year?”

In fact, during the past six months, I was resting, working on outlines and worldviews, and not writing anything.

I only started writing the beginning in January, but it was later rejected by Yuewen. I revised it for a month. What do you think I have left?

By the time the book was published, I only had 20,000 or 30,000 words in hand, and I kept revising as I wrote because I was new to it. I had no time to write the subsequent plots.

It will be put on the shelves today. I have just written half a chapter. Well, I won’t sleep tonight anyway, so I will post as much as I write and work hard until dawn.
