Chapter 6: Winery and Miyano's Sister

Chapter 6: Winery and Miyano's Sister

"There's something wrong. There's definitely something wrong with the way Kurosaki was just now!"

Looking at the orange-haired girl's back as she trotted away, Fūya Rei said in a decisive tone.

"She definitely doesn't look sick enough to need to be hospitalized. Besides, with her ridiculous physique, she shouldn't be able to get sick at all."

Zhu Fujingguang showed a helpless smile: "I thought Zero would be more concerned about the phone call that Ge Xi received."

"Of course I'm concerned about that phone call. Kurosaki must have had that expression on her face, as something urgent must have happened," Furuya Rei confirmed. "Last year, when I heard her brother got in an ambulance after a fight, she had the same expression on her face, even though the person in the ambulance was a delinquent from another school."

As they spoke, the two of them took steps at the same time in perfect tacit understanding, and caught up with the running girl from a distance.

After running a few steps, Furuya Rei suddenly heard his friend's laughter and turned around in confusion: "Hiro?"

"I suddenly remembered the time when I met Utsuki," the cat-eyed boy explained, "Zero, do you remember?"

Furuya Rei nodded. "Of course I remember. That was the first day Dr. Elena and the others accepted Director Ishida's invitation to work at Karakura General Hospital. I went to the hospital to visit you and also went to see Dr. Elena."

"Shouldn't it be the other way around, visiting Dr. Elena and seeing me at the same time?"

"No!"

·

One day in early summer when Zhu Fujingguang was nine years old, he unexpectedly contracted pneumonia and was hospitalized.

The relatives who adopted him were busy with work and did not have time to accompany and take care of him in the hospital every day, but the doctors and nurses were very kind, and he did not feel any inconvenience staying in the hospital alone.

The first encounter with Utsuki Kurosaki was on a gloomy rainy day when he was in the hospital.

One time when he was coming back from the bathroom, he unexpectedly met the eyes of a girl in the ward who looked to be the same age as him.

In fact, that wasn't the first time he'd seen Kurosaki Utsuki. He'd been hospitalized for several days, and every time he went to the bathroom, he'd pass by her room. And almost every time, day or night, he'd see the brightly-haired girl lying in bed with her eyes closed through the half-open door, like a sleeping princess waiting to be awakened by a prince.

He had seen the other person's family once in the corridor - he could tell them by their hair color at a glance without having to communicate or ask - her gentle mother with the same long orange hair, and her energetic brother, the smiles on their faces were as warm and dazzling as their hair color.

However, although it was not the first time I saw her, and I had already remembered her name through the doorplate outside the ward, it was the first time I saw her wake up.

"No one would normally ask a stranger if their parents had passed away the moment they made eye contact, right?"

Recalling the scene that was still fresh in his memory, Zhu Fujingguang smiled helplessly.

Starting from "Have your parents passed away?", to "Is it a murder?", "Who is the culprit?", "Tell me?", "You really don't know?", and "If you continue like this, you may never be happy in your life."

The following words seemed to be asking him questions, and he answered them as calmly as possible. But when he thought back on it, he always felt that the direction she was looking at at that time was somewhere behind him, a place that should have been empty.

However, what surprised him even more was what happened after she asked the question and got the answer.

The girl who always lay weakly in bed suddenly got out of bed, took off her windbreaker on the chair beside her, and then staggered to his side.

"Let's go and catch the criminal," she said.

The look she gave him at that time didn't look at all like that of a girl his age.

Although gentle, it is full of sadness.

"And I still don't understand how she was able to deduce the identity of the criminal who had left the police clueless just by listening to Hiro's few words." Furuya Rei complained.

Rei Furuya, who was also nine years old at the time, appeared after Kurosaki Utsuki said, "Go catch the criminal."

Dr. Elena, whom he had greeted, happened to send him to Morofushi Kagemitsu's ward. As a result, he, who came to visit the patient, and Elena Miyano, who came to the hospital to report for work procedures on the first day, inexplicably became the companions and guardians of this impromptu journey to catch the criminal.

"It was all thanks to Dr. Elena's willingness to help back then," said Morobushi Kagemitsu, his voice breathy from running. "Because she couldn't contact Dean Ishida, whom she'd wanted to ask for help, Utsuki almost ran off to Nagano alone, even though she'd never traveled far before."

"Yeah, I don't know what she's thinking."

Although he said that, Fūya Rei actually had a vague guess in his mind.

Maybe it's empathy, wanting to save something by helping others.

Because shortly after that, they heard the news that Kurosaki Utsuki's mother died unexpectedly on a rainy day for unknown reasons.

However, when the news was heard, the girl had already identified the culprit of the Zhufu family tragedy in person. She also used a real performance that did not seem like acting at all, making the criminal who lost his daughter believe that the soul of his deceased daughter was really crying beside him. As a result, he gave up resistance and quibbling and honestly turned himself in to the police station. After recovering from his illness, he left the hospital without even leaving any contact information for the Zhufu brothers to express their gratitude.

It was two weeks later when we met again at school.

And for two years after that, they never saw a smile on her face.

"That direction should be the hospital," Furuya Rei slowed down his pace, a little doubt in his heart, "Could it be that what Kurosaki just said is true?"

But his guess was quickly overturned by the girl's sudden stop. He watched from a distance as she took out her cell phone, put it to her ear, and made a gesture to answer the call.

His friend beside him glanced at him and gave him a look of "as expected".

"Ge Xi didn't operate the screen." Zhu Fujingguang confirmed.

She wasn't really making a phone call, she was just using the gesture of making a phone call to hide her true purpose.

They had seen this situation several times before, always after some case or accident - but they had never pointed it out to the parties involved.

Furuya Rei frowned slightly: "That means something troublesome has indeed happened."

·

Kurosaki Utsuki sighed sadly.

After getting used to living in Mika's city where human souls could be seen everywhere, Sora's already not-so-small number of souls actually seemed a little insufficient - she meant when she needed information.

Fortunately, there was a whole body at the hospital entrance. When she went out, she subconsciously avoided work and did not bury the soul. Now she might be able to get some useful eyewitness information.

In order to avoid being regarded as a weirdo talking to herself, she took out her cell phone, pretended to be making a call, and walked towards the place where her hopes were.

In fact, she didn't know the details of the case yet. The brief phone call from Ishida Ryugen revealed limited information. What she could infer on the way here was that the other party, as an unrelated person to the Miyano family, was able to receive the news in time, most likely because the case happened near the hospital.

Her speculation was soon confirmed, and the person she inquired about the situation gave a positive answer.

"As for that little girl with brown hair, I remember that the two sisters often came to the hospital together. I think they are the daughters of some doctor."

It was not known whether the old man died of illness in this hospital or had worked here and left some obsession, but the soul of the old man slowly narrated to Kurosaki Utsuki.

"Just now they were walking hand in hand towards the hospital, but suddenly a car stopped on the side of the road, and two men in black clothes got out, pushed the elder sister aside, and took the younger sister away."

Kurosaki Utsuki raised her head and looked around.

There are surveillance cameras on the roads nearby. Even if the kidnapper's face is not captured in the picture, the license plate number should be found. That is the job of the police, and what she should ask is information that ordinary people cannot obtain.

"Did those men in black say anything? Not just to my sister, but also to each other, or anything special?"

The person opposite thought for a moment before slowly stating what he had noticed: "The driver of the car is a young man with white hair."

White hair? Or silver hair? Bleached hair? Or a foreigner?

"Anything else?"

"No, those men were well-trained, like professional criminals. There was no communication the entire time. All I remember is that they were all wearing black clothes."

This was an organized, premeditated, and skilled kidnapping. It was done by professional kidnappers, seeking ransom, or...

"I understand. Thank you." Kurosaki Utaha nodded and prepared to leave. "Don't be attached to this world anymore. Become a Buddha soon."

The person opposite him didn't respond: "Little sister, are you a detective?"

"No." She waved her hand, leaving the other person with a slender back that she thought was handsome. "I'm just a Death God agent passing by."

Then, she would go to the Miyano couple to inquire about the situation, then find a safe place to store her body, and then go out as a spirit of death to see if she could find any clues...

But a familiar voice suddenly sounded not far behind him.

"What do you mean by Death God Agent? Wasn't the original phrase "Passing Kamen Rider"? "

Kurosaki Utsuki turned her head suddenly and saw a speechless look on his face as Furuya Rei walked towards her quickly, followed closely by Morifushi Kagemitsu, his upturned cat eyes full of worry.

...Tsk.

"Ge Xi, what happened?" asked the cat-eyed boy, "Is there anything we can help with?"

"I don't think so." Kurosaki Utsuki curled her lips, and before Furuya Rei could speak unhappily, she quickly added, "But even if I say that, you won't let it go, right?"

Especially for Rei Furuya, if he knew that the daughter of his favorite Miyano family was kidnapped, he would definitely not sit idly by and wait for the police to investigate.

...Of course she is the same.

"Follow me, and we'll talk as we walk." She raised her chin towards the boys. "Just a reminder, if you're ever in danger, just shout 'Save me, Utah-sama', and I'll show up handsomely and defeat the enemy. Remember?"
