Chapter 57 You're a Disaster
The four of them came to the snack street again.
After the last incident, the area around the snack street has undergone tremendous changes.
Policemen patrolling here can be seen everywhere. There is a police car parked on the street not far away. Several special police officers with wooden weapons are standing next to the car, watching the pedestrians with their eyes like hawks.
Cameras are installed in all the dark alleys, and all corners are brightly lit, so there are no dark corners anywhere.
Every snack stand with a store has a bright red button hanging on the door. This button is connected to the Internet, and the police will respond quickly once it is pressed.
The restaurant that was previously smashed has been repaired, but it is not open for business and there is a sign hanging saying it is being transferred.
Jiang Le, Hua Yi and Ming Sui were a little nervous when they entered the snack stand.
Even though they appear to be fine on the surface, their physical reactions cannot deceive others. Shadows are everywhere, and they want to tremble as soon as they see the alley.
However, after walking a few steps, they saw police officers everywhere, and they mustered up their courage and decided to face and overcome their fear, and walked into the snack street with high spirits.
It was almost nine o'clock and most of the food stalls were closing. The four of them came out relatively late, and every time they asked a stall owner, the owner waved his hand and refused, saying they were closed.
A group of people gradually walked to the end of the snack street, where there were still two stalls that had been confiscated, and one of the stall owners was still flipping the wok.
Two different snacks, the four of them discussed what they wanted to eat.
There was no one in front of a stall. On the stall were several nine-square grids with strings of cooked oden inside.
The other stall was a fried noodle stall. There was only one customer in front of the stall, but there seemed to be no food left. The four people saw the boss throw all the fried noodles into the pot and stir-fry them.
Well, I have no choice but to eat oden.
The owner of the oden stall was a woman. She was wearing a pair of woolen gloves and fiddling with her cell phone, listening to an embarrassing skit on the musical notes with the volume turned up loud.
When the woman saw the guest coming, she quickly stood up and put her phone aside, "What would you like to eat?"
Hua Yi and the other two looked at the menu hanging next to the stall. It had prices and several flavors of wontons.
The three of them ordered what they needed and turned to look at Lin Jin who was standing behind them. "Jin Jin, what do you want to eat?"
Lin Jin sniffed her nose. It was still a little blocked, so she simply ordered a bowl of wontons.
"I want mini wontons, please make them spicy!"
The woman turned on the gas and lifted the plastic wrap covering the wontons, "Do you want a large or small portion?" She looked up casually and suddenly caught a glimpse of Lin Jin's face. She paused.
"Are you Lin Jin?"
Without waiting for Lin Jin to speak, the woman immediately put down the wontons, turned on the overhead light, and held the thread end to shine the light on Lin Jin's face.
Seeing that it was really that disgusting face, she instantly frowned and her expression became hideous.
"I really didn't check the almanac before going out. I actually met you, a disaster star, today. Get lost. I don't want to do business with you. How dare you come to me?"
The three roommates heard the stall owner call out Lin Jin's name accurately and thought they knew her. They were about to ask what was going on, but the next second they heard some obscene words coming out of the woman's mouth.
The three men were furious and immediately cursed back at the woman.
"Hey! Do you have any shame? What do you mean by a disaster star? Can you please speak properly?"
"Who are you telling to get out? If you don't want to do business, then don't do business. It's like you own this street. What can you do to me if I don't want to get out? What's wrong with me standing here and not leaving?"
"Why are you so foul-mouthed? My friend is fine and he didn't provoke you, why are you cursing at him? You are the same age as us, why are you so low-class?"
The sudden light hit Lin Jin's face, and her eyes closed immediately.
She raised the back of her hand to block the light and heard the angry curse. The familiar voice suddenly reminded her of someone in her memory.
When she opened her eyes, she saw the woman's eyes spitting fire, with her hands on her hips, staring at her, as if she was going to pounce on her and eat her the next moment.
Lin Jin put her hand down and said calmly, "Liu Xiaocao?"
Liu Xiaocao sneered, "Why? You, a disaster star, actually still remember me. I thought you had died in some corner after not seeing you for three years, but you are still alive."
Ming Sui rolled up her sleeves and walked over, standing in front of Liu Xiaocao and looking down at her, "I say, what's wrong with your brain? You cursed my friend for no reason, you must be crazy! I tell you, everything you said will rebound upon you."
Liu Xiaocao's gaze moved between the four people. Seeing that several of them stood up for Lin Jin, she spat on the stone slab at her feet.
"Bah! I was wrong. You know how to make friends. I advise you not to be with Lin Jin, or you'll die at any time. Murderer, bah!"
Jiang Le couldn't bear it anymore, and even Hua Yi almost rushed up to hit someone.
The two men ignored Mingsui, stood in front of Liu Xiaocao, pointed at her nose and cursed her.
"What murderer? Tell me again what murderer? You're going to keep talking, aren't you? Do you want me to call the police? Do you have any evidence that my friend is a murderer? If not, I'll sue you for slander."
Hua Yi quickly took out her phone and consulted a lawyer, "Lawyer Luo, I want to ask you what crime it is to defame someone without reason..."
Lin Jin stepped forward and held down Hua Yi who was on the phone, and dragged away Jiang Le and Ming Sui who were angry.
"Forget it, don't bother with her, let's go."
Lin Jin stood in the shadows. The three of them couldn't see her expression clearly, but they could feel that she was in a very low mood.
Hua Yi hung up the phone, and Jiang Le left Liu Xiaocao angrily.
Mingsui even pulled down her sleeves and waved her fist at Liu Xiaocao.
"I'm telling you, if you dare to slander my friend again, don't blame me for being rude. I happen to be practicing boxing recently, and I don't mind if we go to the police station to reason."
Liu Xiaocao simply disdained Ming Sui's threats, rolled her eyes and said, "I'm so scared, come on if you have the guts, I wonder if you'll destroy my stall first, or if you'll get into trouble first."
"I'm here to advise you, Lin Jin is not a good person, and being with her will not end well. You may still be laughing now, but I'll see how you cry when something goes wrong."
"Ah! You still want to slander Auntie, right?" Mingsui clenched her fists and was about to step forward but Auntie Lin quickly held her back.
She shook her head at Ming Sui and turned a deaf ear to Liu Xiaocao's scolding, "Don't go, let's go!"
Lin Jin turned and left. Seeing this, the three men glared at Liu Xiaocao and quickly followed her.
The four of them quickly walked out of the snack street and went back without even tasting a bite of food, feeling very angry.
After they left, the person who had been waiting at another stall for more than ten minutes finally got the fried noodles he had been craving for.
Song Qing rummaged through his body and pulled out a few crumpled one-dollar bills, which added up to eight dollars for a small portion of fried noodles. He handed it to the boss, tore open the chopstick packaging, and sat down at the table at the fried noodles stall to swallow them in big gulps.
After taking the first bite of fried noodles, he felt that his starving stomach finally stopped protesting.
He asked the boss for a cup of hot water, drank it in one gulp and immediately burst into tears.
What is this! It's so delicious.
