Chapter 5 Death of Xu Ran

Chapter 5 Death of Xu Ran

Xu's mother hugged a girl and cried breathlessly. The two hugged each other tightly and couldn't believe that Xu Ran died like this.

My daughter clearly said last week that she would go home for National Day and that she would take the family out for fun after receiving her pay. How could she die after just one week of not seeing her?

Xu's mother didn't believe it and found it hard to believe.

Xie Hui's mouth froze, and he managed to keep his sanity. "Aunt, we don't want to see this happen either. The diagnosis report clearly states that it's depression. Please accept my condolences..."

Father Xu came over with red eyes and pushed the envelope back. "Young man, you should go back first! My wife is emotionally unstable right now. If you have anything to say, wait until Ranran is buried."

His mental state was much more stable than Xu's mother's, and he was more able to listen.

Seeing this, Xie Hui nodded, and instead of putting the envelope back into his pocket, he forced it into Xu's father's pocket.

"Uncle, Xu Ran was a cheerful and kind person in the company. If we had known that she had depression, we probably shouldn't have left her alone at home last night."

"Please accept my condolences. When the funeral date is confirmed, please give me a time and address..."

Lin Jin could no longer hear the rest of the words. She walked out of the funeral home in a daze and leaned against the door of the security room, staring at a silver daisy bracelet on her wrist in a daze.

“Snap!”

A teardrop left a mark on the cement floor, and she looked up at the sky with a bitter smile.

Xu Ran, you lied after all.

Lin Jin was about to leave when she suddenly noticed from the corner of her eye that the security room was empty. The security guard had gone somewhere unknown, and there was only a whole screen displaying the footage.

She took a step forward and walked into the security room as if possessed by a ghost.

Looking at the smallest screen in the upper right corner and the words "dressing room office" marked on it, she couldn't help but move the mouse and click on the screen.

From the time I saw the news and made the call to rush here, I delayed too long and Xu Ran had already been sent to the crematorium.

The picture was jumping at double speed. In one scene, several staff members wearing sunglasses pushed a stretcher into the dressing room. Someone shouted, and suddenly two undertakers came out to make up the corpse.

The two men had completed the preliminary preparations and were just about to start working when an undertaker suddenly screamed.

Her face was horrified, she dropped her tools and leaned against the wall in fear.

Even though she was not at the scene, Lin Jin could feel through the monitor that the undertaker seemed to have seen a very horrifying scene.

He paused and moved the mouse away from the cross.

Fast forward and stop, Lin Jin frowned and returned to the scene just now, and saw the undertaker suddenly screaming when he lifted the sheet.

What's so surprising about seeing the dead?

Lin Jin turned up the volume and continued watching, and found that the undertaker calmed down after a few seconds, patted his chest and said to the other person with fear.

"I was so scared. How could someone jump off a building and pop their eyes out? They were covered in blood. I thought her eyes had been gouged out."

Another person's voice came from outside the screen, "Right, I feel terrified too. If I hadn't seen that this was a jump from a building as reported by the police, I would have thought that someone had dug out her eyes."

"I thought there was some deep hatred that could dig out someone's eyes alive."

"No!" The first undertaker remembered something. "I also did makeup for someone who committed suicide by jumping off a building last month. Although his eyes were missing, there was no blood dripping down his face. It was obviously as if someone dug them out."

"That's impossible! Didn't the police say it was a suicide? Did you remember it wrong before?"

"I think I remember correctly..."

The two had a disagreement over their eyes and wanted to argue further, but were suddenly interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Are you all right? Your family members are coming soon. Don't let them see such a sad scene."

"Right away."

The two undertakers didn't have time to argue about the eyes and hurriedly found two fake eyes to put on the corpse.

Someone dug out your eyes?

Lin Jin's heart skipped a beat. The scene stopped here and went back to the beginning.

This time I didn't fast forward, but played it in slow motion until I heard the undertaker say Xu Ran's name and age, and then returned to the scene just now.

Watching these few seconds of footage again and again, the expression on the undertaker's face doesn't seem fake; it is a genuine fear that comes from instinct.

I wanted to continue checking for any other information when I suddenly heard a faint sound of electric current outside.

Lin Jin looked outside the door and saw an old man with a walkie-talkie on his shoulder walking towards her.

The security guard pushed the door open and was startled when he saw the person sitting on the chair. "Who are you?"

Lin Jin got up from the stool, holding her chest. "I had hypoglycemia just now. I saw that no one was here, so I came in and sat for a while. I'll leave soon."

The security guard's doubts gradually disappeared, and he asked with concern: "Are you feeling better now?"

Lin Jin curled her lips weakly, "Much better." She took out her phone and glanced at it, "My car is here, thank you for your concern."

The security guard didn't suspect anything, put down the thermos and opened the door, "Let's go!"

Lin Jin covered her chest and walked out of the house. She didn't stop until she had walked a long way in one breath. She opened the photo album and watched the video several times. Suddenly, a huge wave of emotion rose in her heart.

Xu Ran, it seems like he was murdered by someone!

......

Sitting on the bus back to school, Lin Jin couldn't calm down.

The two staff members said that Xu Ran's eyes were gouged out by someone. If that was true, why was the report saying that he fell to his death?

I looked up and glanced at the baffle behind the bus driver, entered the password to connect to the wireless network, and went to the operator store to find the Big Eye APP for download.

The bus was passing through a tunnel and the network was very slow. Lin Jin waited patiently for more than ten minutes before getting off.

As soon as I logged into Dayan, all the news was about Xu Ran committing suicide.

On the hot search list of Da Yan was the police report issued by the Anshi Public Security Bureau a few hours ago.

[Police report: At 23:30 on October 1, 2025, our bureau received a report from the public... The deceased was a 19-year-old female who jumped to her death in the Garden Hui community. There were no signs of crime at the scene, and it was initially determined to be suicide...]

After this notice came the news released by Orange Company. They first forwarded the police report, then posted the report that Xu Ran was diagnosed with depression before his death, and finally expressed their regret for Xu Ran's departure.

Until the last message five minutes ago, Orange Company said that the time of Xu Ran's funeral had been confirmed. Xu's family decided not to bid farewell publicly, but the company would still go to pay their respects.

There are thousands of comments under this message. Except for a few fans of Xu Ran, most of them are artists from the same company as Orange who expressed their condolences.

Everyone found Xu Ran's suicide unbelievable. Some actors who had worked with Xu Ran also spoke out, saying that she was a very good person when she was alive, and that her sudden death was indeed very unexpected.

Once these people spoke up, the heat reached a climax again.

Many people are lamenting that they should take good care of their bodies and not give up their lives easily.

It is not easy to come to this world. After committing suicide, only those around you will be sad.

Lin Jin looked at the message several times with a gloomy look in her eyes, until the heat in her eyes subsided and the bus arrived at the terminal. Then she closed her phone, got off the bus without saying a word, and walked towards the school gate.
