Herka Star.
The identity of the mysterious man remains a mystery, and Adrian grows more anxious every day, but he is still at a loss.
"Boss, we don't need to look for a way to get into the insect planet anymore." Martin ran in excitedly. "His Highness the Crown Prince has already found a way to get into the insect planet and told us not to worry about it."
Adrian nodded slightly. "Continue the search with General Divi."
Martin stopped in his tracks. "Yes!"
"Boss, could General Diwei have already...?"
Adrian fell silent. It wasn't impossible; General Deevie had left White Star a little later than his father and then disappeared without a trace.
For so many years, my father has been searching for it, even now.
"Probably not." After a moment of silence, Adrian said these four words, both to Martin and to himself.
Five days later, they found the man who had sent the child to deliver the message.
"Boss, we have news about General Diwei!"
Upon hearing this, Adrian breathed a sigh of relief.
Where?
Martin's expression turned somewhat grim. "Insect...Insect Star."
"General Diwei is on the insect planet?" Adrian's voice rose, suddenly becoming louder, sounding quite incredulous.
On an insectoid planet? Then General Diwei...
Adrian couldn't believe it. The Insect Planet had become a living hell. Was General Diwei...?
Martin swallowed hard. "General Deeway must have been subjected to the experiment."
"After General Diwei left Yuanxing, he boarded a supply ship bound for the Insect Planet from Baixing."
Upon hearing this, Adrian was almost certain that General Divi was in grave danger.
"The man who delivered the letter to the old house is named Hu Chao." Martin used his personal computer to show Adrian the photo.
"Hu Chao was a student sponsored by General Diwei twenty years ago, and the two have maintained correspondence ever since."
"General Diwei instructed Hu Chao to place the things she brought back at the entrance of the old house."
Martin explained the situation in a few words: the mysterious messenger had been found, but what should they do next?
"What did Helian Jue say?" Adrian asked after a long silence.
"His Highness the Crown Prince said that we need to wait for the right time."
Adrian's rationality told him that this matter could not be rushed, but he couldn't help feeling anxious on an emotional level.
"Have someone keep an eye on the channels through which Hu Chao receives the photos, and see if they can get in touch with General Diwei."
Martin took out his personal computer and began recording. "Yes."
The finger tapping the computer screen froze, as if it had seen some unbelievable information.
"General, the Alliance has issued a call to action across the entire galaxy, welcoming all life forms to relocate to the Alliance. Upon settling in the Alliance, all will receive a one-time payment of 300,000 interstellar coins and permanent accommodation, along with monthly nutrient supplements." Upon seeing this message, Martin had only one thought: the Alliance's move was truly insidious.
For ordinary people or creatures living on impoverished planets of the Empire, 300,000 interstellar coins means they can lie down freely for 30 years, or even spend the rest of their lives lying down if they are frugal.
In the interstellar era, with the increase in population and the increase in the upper limit of lifespan, people's expectations for life have gradually decreased. They no longer have the same desire to live as before, and instead, a lot of feelings of boredom have arisen.
This call from the alliance perfectly catered to a group of people who wanted to lie down and do nothing for the rest of their lives.
“They’re getting anxious,” Adrian said. The defection of Xinle and Bion has left them without a reference point for their experiments. Although there was a lot of data left behind, the experimental process itself contained a part of the randomness.
The method recorded worked for Xinle, but applying it to other merfolk might not be successful.
As the alliance's actions become increasingly aggressive, they are bound to attract attention, or perhaps have already attracted attention. Before these matters are exposed, they are trying to make a quick buck.
Adrian has a very thorough understanding of the psychology of the league's top leaders, and by offering excellent benefits, he can attract as many people as possible.
As a former member of the Alliance, Adrian had a premonition.
The highest leader of the alliance is called the commander-in-chief, and long ago, the position of commander-in-chief was elected by a vote of all the people of the alliance.
The voting process was fair, open, and just, which is why many outstanding leaders emerged in the history of the alliance. However, over time, the decisive power of the people's vote was gradually weakened until it disappeared.
As far back as Adrian can remember, the election for the new commander-in-chief has not involved a public vote; instead, it has been conducted by a vote of officials within the league.
According to my father, the so-called internal election of officials was just a formality, and the position of commander-in-chief had already been reserved.
The voting process was merely a formality. At first, officials could have friendly discussions and suggest candidates; then, once the candidates were finalized, a vote was held among them; and finally, without most officials' knowledge, the commander-in-chief was already chosen.
The current leader of the alliance has been in office for nearly forty years. It was from the time he took office that some dissenting alliance officials were persecuted and forced to leave.
The top officials of the Alliance are almost entirely controlled by a few major financial groups, while Dax Weren, who was pushed into the position of commander, is backed by the largest pharmaceutical group in the Alliance and also the largest in the intergalactic world, which firmly holds the lifeline of the largest pharmaceutical industry in the entire intergalactic world.
However, in recent years, the Ruixin Group from the Empire has gradually risen and is showing signs of gaining the upper hand.
Dax Wayne wields immense power in the league, practically having the final say. His father fled to White Star due to persecution, and he was followed by a group of loyal followers.
