Chapter 85 Little Fish: Is the portrait carved on the eaves me?

It was already late when we arrived at Yunlai Star.

During dinner, everyone chatted while eating, with Qiao You acting as Helian Jue's spokesperson most of the time.

In matters of daily life, Helian Jue was a man of few words. If Lan Ruozhi or Su Wangqiu asked him a question, Helian Jue would only respond with two sentences, no more than twenty words.

Qiao You is much more endearing; he can break a single sentence into three, while older people simply enjoy lively conversations.

That evening, Helian Jue led Qiao You towards the bedroom.

Apart from the main courtyard, the entire Su family estate has five side courtyards. Helian Jue lives in Su Shu's Qing Courtyard.

As Qiao You approached, he couldn't take it all in; the patterns were truly exquisite!

Holding Qiao You in her brother's arms, she didn't need to watch where she was going, making it easier for her to look around.

As Qiao You reached the corner, his gaze fell upon the eaves of the roof, and wondered how the pattern there could be so similar...

"Brother, wait a minute," Qiao You said quickly, "Let's go take a look over there."

Helian Jue looked down at Qiao You, whose attention was entirely focused on the carvings under the eaves.

"What's wrong?" Following Qiao You's directions, Helian Jue took a few steps back.

Qiao You stared at the pattern for a long time until her eyes started to hurt. "Brother, do you think that's me?"

Did Qiao You's words relate to Xiaoyu?

"The third one from the right, the little mermaid in the bottom left corner."

Helian Jue found the location Youyou had mentioned, and upon looking at it, he immediately discovered the problem.

It really looks like a small fish! There's at least a 70% chance.

"This... how could this be..." Helian Jue was also shocked. What exactly happened?

Qiao You vaguely felt that his arrival in interstellar space was not accidental, but very likely a premeditated plan... and was he part of it?

“Brother, look at these carvings together,” Qiao You continued. The carvings, when viewed together, resembled a scene painting.

Helian Jue walked a long way along the corridor of the Qingyuan Courtyard. The carvings depicted the mysterious underwater world, with various fish, seaweed, corals, caves... and even an underwater palace...

The little mermaid statue that looks like it's swimming appeared more than twenty times in total.

Helian Jue and Qiao You were both extremely shocked, and neither of them spoke.

It wasn't until they returned to their bedroom that Qiao You said, "Brother, that underwater palace is my home."

Helian Jue looked at Qiao You, whose little fish eyes, like his own, were full of confusion.

"Brother, did ancient Earth ever exist?" Qiao You asked, "But why can't we find any information about it on the quantum computer?"

Helian Jue didn't know the answer to Xiaoyu's question either. After a pause, he quickly came up with a solution: "Let's go to the other courtyards tomorrow and see if there are any similar carvings."

Qiao You nodded in agreement, "Okay!"

Helian Jue stroked the little fish's tail. "Go to sleep, baby?"

Qiao You nestled into Helian Jue's arms, wanting to sleep in his arms.

Half an hour later, Qiao You was fast asleep.

However, Helian Jue couldn't fall asleep, which was truly unbelievable.

What is the connection between his mother, Youyou, and Youyou's parents?

Now, what about the ancestors of the Su family? Were they enemies or friends with the mermaids of ancient Earth?

I had heard my grandparents mention before that the Su family's ancestral home in Yunlai Star was left by their ancestors and passed down from generation to generation. Although it has to be completely renovated every five years, the furnishings and style of the house have not changed at all...

The carvings on the house have not been changed. Helian Jue rarely returned to the Su family, and when he did, it was always in a hurry, so he never paid attention to the carvings under the eaves...

So his little fish didn't come here by accident. After all this is over, will the little fish... leave?

Thinking about this, Helian Jue's heart was filled with turmoil for a long time. He absolutely could not accept Xiaoyu's departure.

Because of his pre-sleep speculation, Helian Jue didn't sleep much all night.

As the first rays of sunlight streamed through the window into the room, Helian Jue got up, left a small note for Xiaoyu, and began wandering from courtyard to courtyard, trying to verify whether the entire Su residence was decorated with such carvings...

Helian Jue walked quickly, and in just over an hour, he visited three courtyards, all of which contained the statues, and there were also many other mermaid statues, which, judging from their appearance, were not small fish.

Su Sang was used to getting up early and taking a walk in the woods behind the house. From a distance, she saw her nephew circling around looking at the carvings on the eaves.

"Jue'er, what are you looking at?" Su Sang walked over to Helian Jue.

Helian Jue paused, then asked Su Sang, "Uncle, have these carvings always been there?"

Su Sang glanced at Helian Jue, somewhat puzzled as to why her nephew would suddenly ask this. "Yes, this house is the root of our Su family, and it must be passed down from generation to generation."

"When we get old, you and Yinchen must remember this."

"No matter what happens, we must protect this house," Su Sang said earnestly.

Helian Jue nodded in agreement, "Uncle, what is the meaning of these carvings under the eaves?"

Su Sang took a few steps forward, getting closer to the sculptures. "These sculptures... have always been here."

“Your maternal grandparents doted on you. When you were little, you and Yinchen were playful and used these pillars as targets, which made your parents so angry that they were about to punish you with sticks.”

"If it weren't for my older sister stopping you, you two would have definitely gotten a beating." Su Sang joked with a smile, her voice filled with longing and sadness when she mentioned Su Shu, "When Mom and Dad get angry, only... my older sister can stop them."

"If my elder sister had listened to our parents and hadn't married Helian Cheng... would things have been different?"
