Helian Jue did not interrupt Su Wangqiu, but listened quietly.
"After resting for a few days, I rushed back to the lab."
"As far as I know, Shushu and her research team have been conducting experiments." Su Wangqiu recalled the past, "That year on the anniversary, Shushu brought you back and we talked for a long time."
"I still remember Shushu's expression to this day, her eyes were shining."
"She said this is her pursuit, and she is willing to give her life for it."
"I just want to say sorry to Jue'er and us." Su Wangqiu's tears flowed down her cheeks.
In Helian Jue's memory, Su Wangqiu had always been a man of unyielding integrity; he had never seen him so vulnerable and dejected...
"Grandpa," Helian Jue grasped Su Wangqiu's hand, "Mother will definitely come back safely."
Helian Jue originally didn't intend to say that he had found what his mother had left behind, but seeing his grandfather so sad, he couldn't bear it.
She recounted how she had unintentionally received the fantasy left by her mother.
Su Wangqiu froze on the spot, asking incredulously, "Really...really?"
His Shushu is still alive... really still alive!
Helian Jue comforted his grandfather, "Grandpa, we should wait for Mother to come back together."
"Okay?"
Su Wangqiu's overall mental state has improved considerably, as if she has found the courage to persevere.
“This may all be part of Mother’s plan, and the current progress is within her expectations.” Helian Jue looked at Su Wangqiu. “Mother will definitely be safe.”
Qiao You chimed in, "Grandpa, Aunt Qingyue is so beautiful—like a fairy."
Su Wangqiu glanced at Helian Jue and teased the child, "Doesn't your Aunt Qingyue look like your maternal grandfather?"
Qiao You nodded his little head.
"Because she looks like her maternal grandfather, Aunt Qingyue is beautiful, right?" Su Wangqiu coaxed the child without any qualms.
Qiao You was about to say yes when she suddenly realized what she meant and replied, "Grandma is beautiful, and Grandpa is handsome!"
"Hahahaha, Grandpa can't fool Youyou anymore." Su Wangqiu patted Qiao You, who had a head full of braids.
By dinner time, Su Yinchen and Su Xia had reconciled and seemed to have a better relationship than before.
"Youyou, shall we go play in the pool for a while?" Su Xia suggested. Her tail was dry because she hadn't been in the water much all day.
Qiao You glanced at Helian Jue, nodded to Su Xia, and agreed.
Lan Ruozhi and the others followed to the courtyard. Helian Jue put Xiaoyu into the pool and told Xiaoyu, "Brother will make a phone call. Xiaoyu and Xiaxia have fun."
Qiao You's tail swished loudly in the pool as he shouted, "Okay! Then come back soon, brother!"
Helian Jue smiled and nodded, but before he could turn halfway around, the little fish had already swum several meters away, seemingly not wanting him to come back anytime soon...
Leaving the courtyard, Helian Jue climbed the wooden stairs of the main courtyard step by step until he reached Su Wangqiu's study, where he gently knocked on the door.
"Grandpa, I'm here."
Su Wangqiu's voice came from behind the heavy door, sounding somewhat deep, "Come in."
As expected, it was indeed Helian Jue.
Su Wangqiu was flipping through a thick paper book, and a hint of appreciation appeared in her eyes through her reading glasses. "Sit down."
As soon as Helian Jue sat down, Su Wangqiu went straight to the point, "Youyou isn't a merman, is she?"
Helian Jue was startled, but his expression remained calm as he tried his best to control his emotions. Instead, he asked, "Why do you say that, Grandfather?"
Su Wangqiu stared at Helian Jue, "Your mother left me a letter..."
That evening, Helian Jue and Su Wangqiu had a deep conversation in the study for more than two hours. When they came out, the old man and the young man seemed to have reached some kind of consensus, understanding each other without saying a word.
The pond in the Su family courtyard was very large, and the water was almost like seawater.
Qiao You and Su Xia played until they were panting, and finally the two fish lay on the edge of the pool, panting heavily, receiving food from Lan Ruozhi.
"Where's my brother? Why hasn't he come back yet?" Qiao You asked, taking big bites of a bunch of grapes.
Su Xia leaned closer to Qiao You. "Does Your Highness have any official business to attend to?"
“Possibly.” Qiao You picked what he thought was the biggest and sweetest grape and held it in his hand.
Su Xia's green fishtail and Qiao You's silver-blue fishtail were close together, their tails brushing against each other.
"Youyou, Xiaxia, come and see!" Su Sang and Lin Zhong each carried a huge transparent box.
Qiao You and Su Xia eagerly awaited, their eyes fixed on Su Sang's direction.
"These are the little rabbits we hunted in the back mountain today. Here, you can keep them as pets. What do you think? Do you like them?" Su Sang and Lin Zhong placed the box in front of them.
Qiao You exclaimed, "Wow!"
My hand had already reached in through the side opening, touching the fluffy rabbit's head and then its ears, before reluctantly letting go after a long while.
"I'll have your brother carry it to your bedroom later, then you can look around slowly."
Qiao You quite liked the two little cuties. After thinking for a moment, he asked Su Sang, "Uncle, can they come back to the capital planet with us?"
"It should be fine." Su Sang wasn't sure either. He didn't travel far, especially after his older sister went missing. He spent most of his time with his parents on Yunlai Star. If there was anything important, Su Yinchen would usually go.
Qiao You was struggling with his decision when Helian Jue arrived.
"Brother, can Little Rabbit come back to the capital planet with us?" Qiao You asked, his eyes filled with undisguised affection.
Helian Jue paused for a moment, "Youyou, let's keep them on Yunlai Star. If you like, you can talk to your grandmother more often."
"We need to take the leapfrog channel back, they can't."
