Chapter 39 Lin Qian is not a bad person
Lin Qian couldn't believe it. Zhang Cui actually hit her in front of everyone.
"I hit you?! I want to tear you apart!"
Zhang Cui acted like a madman and was about to pounce on him again.
"Sister-in-law! Sister-in-law! Calm down!"
Su Tang was still holding Mai Sui, who was hiccuping from crying, in his arms. Seeing that the situation was not good, he quickly freed one hand and hugged Zhang Cui's waist tightly.
"Wheat Ear is scared, take care of the child first! Take care of the child first!"
As she shouted, she signaled with her eyes to her sisters-in-law who came running over after hearing the noise to help pull Zhang Cui away.
Zhang Cui was held by Su Tang and others. She struggled for a few times, and looking at Mai Sui, whose face was red from crying in Su Tang's arms, she quickly hugged her and comforted her.
Mai Sui was infected by his mother's crying and cried even louder.
The yard suddenly became chaotic, with all kinds of sounds intertwined.
Lin Qian covered her face, looking at the chaotic scene in front of her and the gazes of the people around her, feeling ashamed.
She stamped her feet, turned and ran away.
Zhang Cui was now holding her precious daughter who had been lost and found again. She was filled with fear and heartache. She couldn't stop crying and was cursing.
Several neighbor sisters-in-law surrounded her to persuade her, but they couldn't help but glance in the direction where Lin Qian disappeared.
Seeing that everyone was comforting Zhang Cui, Su Tang said nothing, but just chased in the direction where Lin Qian was running.
Somehow, at that moment, Su Tang realized that Lin Qian was not as bad as she had imagined.
At least she's not like Hu Lili, who is pure evil.
She knew Lin Qian's proud nature. After suffering such a great injustice, she would probably find a place where no one was around and hide to cry.
Sure enough, Su Tang found her on the bare little hill behind the family compound.
Lin Qian squatted in the shadow of a few crooked poplar trees, with her back to the way she came, her shoulders shrugged, and she cried breathlessly.
"I didn't mean to, I really didn't mean to..."
She cried intermittently to the yellow earth under her feet, her voice also intermittent.
Su Tang walked over and sat down on the clod of dirt next to her.
The evening wind made people's faces dry.
"Mai Sui is fine now. She was just hugging her mother and crying. She was very strong."
Lin Qian suddenly raised her head, and the swollen half of her face was shining red in the afterglow of the setting sun. Her eyes were even redder from crying, like a frightened rabbit.
She looked at Su Tang, her eyes filled with incredible confusion and a hint of cautious hope: "Su... Sister Su Tang? You... you don't hate me?"
"What do I hate you for? I hate you for feeding plums to wheat ears?"
If it weren't for the fact that Lin Qian's panic-stricken look just now didn't seem like she was acting, Su Tang would have really thought that Lin Qian did it on purpose.
"You don't have a bad heart, I can see that, but sometimes you act without thinking and are a little silly."
These words were worse than no comfort and hit Lin Qian's grievances.
She pursed her lips, tears rolling down her cheeks again. "I just saw her gazing longingly at the plums on the tree. She was just being greedy. I didn't think too much about it. I really didn't think too much about it..."
Although it may be said that she had selfish motives in coming to see the child at the beginning, Lin Qian did come because she really liked the child.
The art troupe has been out of work for a long time. The troupe leader said that the higher-ups want to lay them all off and let them find other ways to make a living.
Of course Lin Qian has to consider herself. She has been here for so many years. Only by staying here can she have better development in the future.
So she wanted to come to the staff quarters to see her children, in case there would be other job opportunities in the future?
Today, seeing that Mrs. Zhang Cui was busy, she offered to help look after the wheat ears.
But I didn't expect this to happen, and it almost cost Mai Sui's life.
The slope was quiet for a while, with only the rustling of the poplar leaves in the wind and Lin Qian's suppressed sobs.
After a while, Lin Qian seemed to have made up her mind. She wiped away her tears with her sleeve and said softly with a heavy nasal tone, "Sister Su Tang, I'm sorry."
Su Tang looked at her sideways without saying anything, waiting for her next words.
"I had a problem with you before, but I was wrong."
Lin Qian buried her head even lower, almost touching her knees.
Su Tang knew the situation clearly, but still asked calmly, "Because of Lu Xiao?"
Lin Qian's face suddenly turned redder than the side that was swollen from being hit, and it went all the way to the roots of her ears.
She waved her hands in panic, speaking incoherently: "No, no, no! No! It's... it was at the beginning, when I first met Lu Xiao, I thought he was a very good person, steady, reliable, and convincing in everything he said and did."
"When I first knew you were coming, I did feel a little uncomfortable, so I wanted to go check on you. I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused you and Lu Xiao."
She argued hurriedly, fearing that Su Tang would not believe her, and her fingers turned white from twisting them.
Even if I really had a crush on Lu Xiao, that was a long time ago.
"And what happened next?"
"Since you didn't have that intention anymore, why did you still seem to dislike me later?"
Lin Qian's body visibly stiffened.
She lowered her head, her fingers unconsciously digging into the dry dirt on the ground, and the cracks between her nails were soon filled with brown mud.
Her voice became even smaller, almost carried away by the wind.
"It's Zheng Jinxin, a nurse from your hospital. She's been to me several times..."
After hearing what Lin Qian said, Su Tang finally understood what was going on.
Lin Qian is from the art troupe. She is proud and cares about her reputation. Before she came to the family compound, everyone said that she came from a bad family and that she and Lu Xiao would divorce sooner or later.
So Lin Qian felt that she might still have a chance after the divorce.
I came to demonstrate for her, but it was only that one time, and Lin Qian never came again.
Later, when she said she wanted to see the child, everyone thought that Lin Qian came for Lu Xiao and was not giving up.
Su Tang also thought so, and was a little jealous because Lin Qian was coming.
But now that I think about it, what Lin Qian did was not as excessive as what Hu Lili did.
Hu Lili was blatantly getting close to her face and opening her mouth wide.
And Zheng Jinxin, who was hiding in the dark, was really an expert at using the tactic of killing someone with a borrowed knife.
Compared to these two, Lin Qian can really be considered a good person.
"Zheng Jinxin told me a lot of bad things about you, and I believed them at the time."
Lin Qian felt that she was really blinded by greed and believed whatever others said.
I can't tell right from wrong.
"It's okay. When I first came here, everyone said bad things about me."
Su Tang propped himself up and leaned back.
"If you really feel embarrassed, go and see Mai Sui tomorrow. Sister Zhang Cui is not a bad person, she just got anxious at the moment."
"When she realizes what's going on, she'll think that slap she just gave was too reckless."
After thinking about it, Su Tang said this.
No matter what, hitting people is wrong.
Lin Qian reached out and touched the burning side of her face, then lowered her head.
"I don't blame Sister Zhang Cui. I just didn't know how to feed plums to wheat ears."
The child almost died in her hands. If it were her, she would not only beat people but would even want to kill them.
Hearing Lin Qian say this, Su Tang couldn't help but smile.
"Then you better be more careful in the future and don't let others use you as a tool."
