At the seaside

At the seaside

After dinner, they planned to go back to the hotel to rest and go to the beach tomorrow. Tong Yun suggested: "Let's go watch the sunrise tomorrow!"

"What time do we have to get up?" Zhu Changyu asked.

"If we leave around five o'clock, we should be able to see the entire sunrise."

"Five o'clock!" Zhu Changyu exclaimed, "Forget it, I'm already exhausted from today."

"Tong Yun, I'm sorry! I didn't get enough rest yesterday, so I want to have a good sleep today." Xu Yangyang said weakly.

"It's okay." Tong Yun shook her head and looked at Zhu Sui'an. Ruan Ye beside her answered for her first: "She's tired."

Lin Luo saw that Zhu Sui'an's lips were pale and supported her. "Are you okay?"

"Well, I want to watch the sunrise, but my body won't allow it."

"There will be another chance next time." Lin Luo comforted her and also said to Tong Yun: "I will accompany you to watch the sunrise tomorrow."

After she finished speaking, she turned around and glanced at Fu Xingchuan, who was calling Qi Yao outside the hotel. Zhu Sui'an noticed and seemed to guess what she wanted to ask, "It's too early for him to get up, and he has a bad temper when he wakes up. He will be irritable if he is woken up."

Lin Qi recalled the memory of him being late and getting angry, and couldn't help but curl his eyes, "Oh."

In order not to disturb Zhu Sui'an's rest at night, Lin Luo, Tong Yun, and Xu Yangyang stayed in the same room. Xu Yangyang went to bed early after calling her mother, while Tong Yun and Lin Luo hid under the quilt and talked quietly.

With only the flashlight on, they each wore headphones and listened to the songs on Tong Yun's phone. Lin Luo noticed that her playlist was entirely Cantonese songs and asked her softly, "Do you speak Cantonese?"

When she was a child, she went to Foshan with Lin Dayong to discuss business. What impressed her was that people there basically communicated in Cantonese. She thought it was very charming and nice, but she couldn't express that feeling.

"I only know a little." Tong Yun told her, "Actually, my grandmother is from Guangdong, but I was born in Nan'an."

A melodious melody rang in her ears, and Lin Luo asked her, "What's the name of this song?"

"A Girl's Prayer, my mother's favorite song. Do you understand the lyrics?"

This was the first time Tong Yun mentioned her mother. Lin Luo only knew that her mother died shortly after she was born. "I can recognize the word, but I don't know what it means. Can you tell me?"

Tong Yun turned on his phone and saw that the time on the screen had reached half past ten. He said to her, "I'll tell you another day. It's getting late. We have to get up early tomorrow. Let's go to bed!"

"Okay then." Lin Luo lay down obediently, and Tong Yun tucked the quilt in for her.

As the night deepened, the sound of waves crashing against the shore drifted into Lin Qiao's dreams. She saw the sea, and also Lin Dayong, whom she had missed so much. She called out to him, but he didn't seem to hear her. She walked over, calling out, but he retreated, turning and walking back toward the sea.

Lin Luo kept calling him, asking him to come back, but he didn't look back. His figure gradually became blurred and disappeared at the sea level.

"Dad, don't go...don't..."

"Xiaoxiao." Tong Yun gently shook Lin Xiao, and she woke up with a start, her neck covered in sweat. Tong Yun stroked her back, "Did you have a nightmare? It's okay now."

Tong Yun held Lin Luo in his arms to comfort her. It took a while for her to recover completely. She saw that it was already dawn outside the window, with dim light shining in. "What time is it?"

Xu Yangyang was still sleeping. She whispered, "Five o'clock, let's go out."

"good."

After a quick change of clothes and a wash, Lin Luo left the room and reunited with Tong Yun. She went to the car to get her camera. Zhu Changyu had texted her yesterday about how to use it. She set the camera on a tripod on the beach and pointed it at Lin Luo. "Let me take a picture of you first!"

The salty and humid sea breeze blew, and Lin Luo recalled the scene in her dream. She stared at the sea with its back to her for a moment before she reacted. She turned around and made a "yeah" gesture stupidly.

"Start recording." After she finished filming, she ran towards her with a smile, and they walked hand in hand on the beach. Perhaps because the vacation was almost over, there were not many adults on the shore. However, there were a few children about Tang Muchen's age building sand castles.

Lin Qi asked curiously, "Children, it's still dark, why are you still here?"

"We're coming to see the sunrise, how about you?"

"We did too." Lin Qi asked a few more questions, "But where are your parents? Did you run away alone?"

"We're all going to be in first grade soon. We're not little kids anymore, so Mom and Dad won't worry about us!"

Lin Xiao scratched her nose. Was she meddling in other people's business? Were children these days so precocious?

"Old friends, please be careful too!" Tong Yun said softly, pulling Lin Luo away. "When we get back to Nan'an, we'll show the video to Tang Muchen. He probably hasn't seen the sunrise yet, has he?"

"No, he likes to stay in bed." Lin Luo curled her lips and thought of another child who liked to stay in bed. He should still be sleeping now!

They walked to the shore in front of the camera and sat down, chatting about the world and their ideals.

"I want to be a teacher like Teacher Ding in the future." Tong Yun picked up a handful of sand. "I also want to go to Tibet to teach. I heard that there are few educational resources there."

As sand fell through her fingers, the word "dedication" came to Lin Qiao's mind. She said earnestly, "Then I wish Teacher Tong's dream will come true. While you enjoy the beautiful mountains and rivers of our motherland, you can also let the children there have the opportunity to see the sea we see today."

"Thank you. Xiaoxiao, what is your dream?"

She had no dreams, "Look, the sun is rising."

A faint blush appeared in the sky, and a red sun was rising slowly. The golden light spread over the entire sea and beach, and the sea surface was sparkling. They were bathing in the warm sunshine, so beautiful that they were speechless.

It wasn't until the sun completely jumped out from the sea that they came back to their senses. Tong Yun turned his head to look to the side, and Lin Luo also felt a little strange. They were sitting quite a distance away from the children, but they could still hear their voices just now, but now that the sun had risen, they were silent.

She turned her head and saw a little girl drowning, struggling in the sea. The group of children scattered, probably looking for adults, and one child stumbled towards them, shouting, "Help! Someone fell into the sea! Save her!"

They ran over. Tong Yun's phone was out of battery, so he left it in the hotel to charge. Lin Luo didn't bring her phone to Huaicheng.

Lin Luo noticed that the little girl was motionless and seemed to have lost consciousness. She quickly took off her sun protection jacket and said to Tong Yun, "I can swim. I'll go save her. You borrow someone's phone to call 911."

Tong Yun pulled her and said worriedly, "You must be careful."

"Don't worry, I'm a good swimmer." She said, then jumped into the sea and swam towards the little girl. She hadn't lied to Tong Yun. Lin Dayong had praised her several times for her swimming ability. She was very relaxed and comfortable in the water, like a fish in water.

But now she was on edge. There was a life in front of her and she couldn't let her guard down.

Lin Luo maintained a smooth swimming style, weaving through the current until she reached the girl and embraced her waist. However, she still underestimated the weight of a girl of about five or six years old. Swimming with her in her arms was extremely difficult, and when she tried to take a breath, she was dragged into the sea and choked on the seawater.

Fortunately, she finally brought the girl ashore. She was wet from head to toe, and her body felt extremely cold when the wind blew. But Lin Luo didn't care. She performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation and artificial respiration on the girl.

During Lin Dayong's first swimming lesson, he taught her how to perform first aid. While doing so, she silently said to herself, "Wake up, wake up quickly! Your parents are waiting for you to come home!"

After doing it a few times, my hands started to feel sore because I had little strength left after swimming.

"It's my turn." Lin Luo looked up and saw Fu Xingchuan walk to the other side and kneel down to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the girl. His movements were very standard and he must have received formal training.

After a while, the girl regained consciousness. Just then, the ambulance and the girl's parents arrived. Lin Qi finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The girl was taken to the ambulance. Her clothes were wet, so Lin Luo put her sun-protection jacket on her. Her parents expressed their gratitude to Lin Luo, "Thank you so much, little girl. Fortunately, our Xiaotong met a brave and kind person like you today. Otherwise, I don't know how I would live in the future..."

The woman was a little agitated, probably still recovering from the shock she'd just received. The man supported her, and Lin Luo said gently, "It's my duty. Xiaotong is still waiting for you! Go quickly."

Lin Luo saw the girl wave at her before the ambulance door closed, and she smiled knowingly.

A gust of wind blew, and she was still wet and shivered. Fu Xingchuan took off his jacket and put it on her. Lin looked at him closely. His face was pale and his eyes were unusually dark. Did he not sleep well? Or was he irritated because he was woken up?

Lin Qi asked him softly, "Why are you here?"

"This sea belongs to you and I can't see it"

As expected, he was in a bad mood after waking up. Lin Luo shut up and followed him back to the hotel.

Fragments of what had just happened kept flashing through her mind, and the girl's mother's words praising her bravery rang in her ears. She wrapped herself tightly in her clothes, walked quickly to Fu Xingchuan and asked, "Am I very brave today?"

Smart, brave, and brave in health.

Her throat was a little sore, and her mouth was still salty. She coughed twice unconsciously, but her heart was sweet and full of anticipation. In the end, Fu Xingchuan said, "That's not bravery, that's recklessness! You think you can swim a little and you jump in the water. Do you know how foolish it is to blindly rescue people?"

He became angrier and angrier as he spoke. Lin Luo looked at him innocently. She clearly meant well, but in the end, she failed to show her bravery and ended up being labeled stupid.

"What's wrong?" Tong Yun and others walked towards them. Zhu Sui'an saw that Fu Xingchuan was angry and pulled him away.

Fu Xingchuan was a little out of control and ignored her as he walked towards the hotel.

Lin Luo stared at his back, clasping her hands. Xu Yangyang checked her for injuries, and Zhu Changyu kept praising her. Even the cold-blooded Ruan Ye chimed in with a compliment.

After returning to the hotel, Lin Luo changed her clothes and sat on the bed. Her eyes were dim, she felt lonely, and the salty taste in her throat had not yet dissipated.

"Lin Luo," Zhu Sui'an knocked on the door and came in, looking around to see if anyone was in the room. Tong Yun had left her camera on the beach, and Xu Yangyang had gone with her to get it, leaving her alone in the room.

"I have something to tell you."

Lin Luo looked at her without saying a word. After Zhu Sui'an sat down next to her, he began to say, "I think Fu Xingchuan seems to like you."

What?

As if she guessed that Lin Qi was suspicious of her hearing, she repeated, "I said Fu Xingchuan likes you."

Lin Qi was stunned for a moment, then said to her in a hoarse voice, "Don't talk nonsense."

"I'm not talking nonsense." Zhu Sui'an took out her evidence. "Do you know why he's angry?"

Lin Luo shook her head.

"Because he's worried about you, afraid that something might happen to you!"

"I've never seen him treat other girls like this before. He's such a bad grump when he wakes up. Yesterday, I heard Zhu Changyu say you were going to watch the sunrise, and today he got up early too. I heard he even set several alarms, waking up Zhu Changyu and Ruan Ye."

She laughed out loud as she spoke. Lin Luo was confused. Did he really like her? Or maybe he just wanted to watch the sunrise?

"Maybe he just wants to watch the sunrise, don't talk nonsense." Lin Luo didn't dare to believe her words easily, because she was afraid that she would be disappointed if it was not true.

"If you don't believe me, go test him yourself!"

Zhu Sui'an narrowed his eyes and asked her, "But what do you think of him? Do you like him?"

She didn't dare to say she liked it, but she also didn't dislike it. "I don't know."

"Anyway, think about it carefully!" Zhu Sui'an said proudly, "Our Fu Xingchuan is good at everything. You won't suffer any loss even if you are with him."

Together! Lin Luo never thought about it.

"What are you talking about?" Tong Yun and Xu Yangyang came back. Xu Yangyang took out her camera to share the sunrise with Zhu Sui'an. They gathered together to watch, and Lin Luo was in a daze for a long time.

It was in the afternoon when they went to the beach again. Xu Yangyang splashed water on her and she came to her senses.

Zhu Sui'an sat on the shore, playing in the water by herself. Ruan Ye, disliking their childishness, sat beside her for some peace and quiet. Zhu Changyu and Xu Yangyang were engaged in a fight, a fight to the death. The water was splashing high, and Lin Luo spotted Fu Xingchuan through the curtain of water.

He also changed his clothes and wore a blue and white floral shirt with two buttons undone and sunglasses hanging in the middle.

Zhu Sui'an looked him over, unable to hide his smile, "You still have the nerve to call others peacocks? Aren't you one of them too?"

Ruan Ye didn't hear clearly and asked: "What?"

"Nothing." Zhu Sui'an shut up and watched Xu Yangyang and Zhu Changyu fighting in full swing.

Before Lin Luo could even get a chance to speak to him, Xu Yangyang dragged her into the fray. Tong Yun was already being attacked from both sides, and when Lin Luo arrived, they all attacked Zhu Changyu, splashing him into the sea. "How can this be? This is a personal fight, and you're bullying me."

Xu Yangyang stuck out her tongue at him, "Lululu, if you're capable, find someone to team up with!"

"Fu Xingchuan, come and help me."

"Oh my god! So handsome!" Xu Yangyang became infatuated with him for a second.

Lin Luo's heart was pounding, but it soon turned into splashes of water in front of her eyes. A melee began, and they had fun playing in the water and fighting.

Zhu Changyu was the first to collapse on the beach due to exhaustion. Tong Yun and Xu Yangyang walked over and sat down. Lin Qiao was still not satisfied and kicked the water with her feet. Her reflection was cast in the sea. It was Fu Xingchuan walking over.

"I had a bad attitude this morning. Maybe I got up too early. I'm sorry." He said seriously.

"It's okay." Lin Luo looked at her feet and asked him nonchalantly, "Why did you get up so early?"

“Look at the scenery.”

Remembering that he liked to read poetry, Lin asked him: "Do you think of poetry when you see beautiful scenery? Which line can you recall in this scene?"

Fu Xingchuan looked around. It was sunset, the glow gentle, the heat receding, and the beach had mostly cleared. Across the street, a row of friends sat chatting. Lin Luo stood beside him. He said to her slowly, "Your long summer will never fade."

It seemed that Zhu Sui'an was right, he really liked her. Lin Luo's heart was filled with waves, more turbulent than the waves lapping under her feet.

"Xiaoxiao, Fu Xingchuan, come here quickly, let's take a photo as a souvenir!" Xu Yangyang shouted to them.

"Okay." She responded with a bright smile.

"You stand in the middle. You've done a great job today." Xu Yangyang said to her as she approached.

Finally, to Lin Luo's left is Tong Yun, next to Tong Yun are Zhu Changyu and Xu Yangyang, to her right is Fu Xingchuan, next to Fu Xingchuan are Zhu Sui'an and Ruan Ye.

They posed and shouted in unison, "Long live youth," before the driver pressed the shutter.

Long live youth!

May we always be young and passionate!
