Chapter 101 A passionate kiss filled with affection...
Amidst the rising steam, several snow-white nightgowns lay quietly by the pool.
Ripples spread gently across the water. Just as Baili Xun's boat was about to enter the water, Feng Mian pulled it back. His feet were slippery with water, and he almost slipped and fell. He quickly held Feng Mian tightly beside him, preventing a tumble, and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
"What's wrong?"
"I almost forgot, you also have injuries, you can't soak in water, right?" Feng Mian glanced sideways, her vision was limited because he was holding her in his arms, she could only see her slender and beautiful collarbone and shoulder and neck lines, with only a few small abrasions on them.
She recalled the spot where she applied medicine to Baili Xunzhou when he was unconscious, and gently stroked his lower back. "Your lower back, your side, and the back of your legs..."
Both have large areas of scratches.
She didn't finish her sentence because she felt the person beside her trembling slightly.
When the eyes lose their ability to see, a person's other senses become exceptionally acute. Feng Mian, afraid of touching Baili Xunzhou's wound, didn't place her fingers on his skin, lest she accidentally press on it. But Baili Xunzhou could still feel the warmth of her fingertips, hovering lightly over his skin, a sensation even more alluring than a real touch.
Baili Xunzhou finally couldn't resist and grabbed the hand that was rubbing against his lower back. He said in a slightly hoarse voice, "It's alright, it won't soak for long. Just wipe it clean and then apply the medicine."
Getting injured was commonplace for Baili Xunzhou. Relying on his youth and good physical condition, he never avoided bathing for fear of getting his wounds wet.
“Alright, let’s get this done quickly today.” Feng Mian compromised, supporting Baili Xunzhou’s arm as he slowly stepped into the bath.
Ripples spread across the water, gradually engulfing the handsome, scarred body.
Amidst the clear, gurgling sound of water, Feng Mian heard him let out a soft hiss.
"What's wrong?" Feng Mian hurriedly knelt down by the pool and leaned over to check on him.
The hot steam rose up, suffocating Baili Xunzhou's face. Through the thin layer of mist, Feng Mian saw him slightly furrow his brows, looking as if he had suffered a great injustice.
"The water is so hot, my wounds hurt a bit. Both the new and old wounds are sore and painful..." Even her voice sounded a little sticky.
Feng Mian hurriedly tested the water temperature with her free hand; it was just right, not too hot. "Is the wound too sore to soak like this? Should we get out first?"
"I'll bear with it. Maybe I'll get used to it after soaking for a while." He held Feng Mian's hand tightly, pushed the water aside, and moved closer to her. He looked up, pursed his lips shyly, but the corners of his lips were already upturned because of what he was about to say. "Kiss me, it should make you feel better."
He patiently laid out a couple of sentences before getting straight to the point.
Feng Mian lowered her eyes slightly, her gaze falling on his lips.
When he was unconscious, his lips were deathly pale and cold to the touch, which often woke her up at night. She would always have to go over and touch his breath before she could feel at ease again.
Now, her lips, steamed by the heat, have gained a rosy hue, as if brimming with vitality.
He grabbed her hand and tickled her palm with his fingertips as if urging her to stay. The person soaking in the pool kept her head tilted back, and even though she couldn't see, she closed her eyes, looking like she was asking for a kiss.
Fengmian knelt by the pool, one hand held in his palm, the other resting on his bare shoulder. He slowly leaned down and quickly planted a kiss on his lips.
"Alright." She propped herself up and left, pressing down on his shoulder to stop him from following. "Turn around, I'll help you wash your hair."
Baili Xunzhou's face showed obvious disappointment, and he turned to the side unhappily.
Feng Mian shook their clasped hands, "Loosen your grip?"
Bai Lixunzhou: "You can wash your hair with just one hand."
After he finished speaking, he seemed to remember something and lowered his free hand, saying, "You can borrow it."
"..." Feng Mian was amused by his anger. She slapped his hand down, barely managed to wet the top of his hair with one hand, turned around and hooked the basket containing bath beans over, and then instructed him, "Hold your hands up."
Baili Xunzhou obediently raised his hand that had just been knocked away. A bath bean fell into his palm, and his hand, which was much smaller than his, covered it. He gently massaged it, and gradually the fresh scent of grass and trees wafted out.
My five fingers gently rubbed through my hair, from top to bottom, meticulously and without care.
"Water is getting into my eyes." He suddenly closed his eyes and turned to Feng Mian, his brows furrowing slightly. He seemed to want to raise his hand to rub them, but because he was holding a bath bean, he didn't dare to move.
Water droplets slid down his forehead, a few sliding into his eyes, and a few down the bridge of his nose, obscuring his small mole. His originally sharp and handsome face, now shrouded in mist, gained an added allure.
Feng Mian's hands were also covered in bath soap foam. Without thinking, she leaned down and kissed him, gently pecking away the water droplets on his face.
A splash was heard as the bath bean fell into the water.
One hand wrapped around Feng Mian's waist, while the other hand, which had been firmly holding Feng Mian's hand, suddenly released it and pressed it against Feng Mian's neck. Baili Xunzhou tilted his head back and gave her a kiss. Because he couldn't see anything, his moist lips touched her chin and slowly caressed her lips as he moved to her lips.
Both lips were moist and warm from the mist, soft like melting clouds.
With another loud splash, water sprayed everywhere, and Feng Mian was dragged whole into the pool by him with a slight effort.
Before Feng Mian could even utter a cry of surprise, she was pushed against the edge of the pool, her back, which should have hit the hard edge, pressed against a soft palm. Baili Xunzhou followed, nuzzling his wet, fluffy head against her shoulder, almost sighing as he murmured, "I missed you so much..."
"I haven't seen you for a long time. I finally got to see you, but then I couldn't see you again."
Feng Mian paused her raised hand, then gently patted the back of his head. "It will get better. Once your eyes are healed, I'll be in front of you every day, until you're sick of seeing me."
Baili Xunzhou chuckled softly, his warm breath tickling Feng Mian's neck.
He said in an almost tender tone, "I'm lucky, actually. I injured my head and only lost my sight, not my memory, and I didn't forget you..."
"If I open my eyes and see you, but don't remember you, then these eyes are of little use to me."
Feng Mian narrowed his eyes. "Did you peek at some storybook? What are you thinking about?"
"I'll tell you a secret, but don't tell Mother." Baili Xunzhou lifted his wet head and whispered in Feng Mian's ear, "Father keeps a lot of erotic novels in his study. When I was little, he scared me by saying they were forbidden books that would blind me and ruin my brain..."
"Did you go to see it secretly?" Feng Mian tugged at his ear.
"Actually, I'm not interested in his books at all. What's with all that lovey-dovey stuff? It's not as interesting as practicing martial arts. But..." Baili Xunzhou and Feng Mian touched heads. "After I confessed my feelings to you that day, I was worried about what would happen if I upset you in the future. So I secretly stole the books from the study."
"I knew it, you later..." Feng Mian blushed, as if she had just thought of something, "It seems you really took it to heart?"
"Yes, I've benefited greatly." Baili Xunzhou smiled and raised his hand, gently touching Feng Mian's cheek. His wet palm pressed against her cheek, and his slender fingers traced her features intimately and gently.
"Your face is so hot, are you blushing? Never mind, you don't need to answer me. I can't see you now anyway, so even if you say no, I have no way of confirming."
“You know, when I was trapped underground in the mine, I thought of many things…” He paused, his tone slightly lowered, “Many people who died by my blade. Their features were blurred, their bloodied bodies surging up, reaching out from all directions, cursing, scratching, as if trying to drag me into the abyss with them…”
"I've always known that I've committed too many atrocities, and sooner or later I'll be punished..."
"You did it for the people." Feng Mian interrupted hastily, raising her hand to cover the back of his hand, trying to transfer all the warmth of her palm to him, "The lives you saved are far more precious than anything else..."
"See, I knew you would come to save me." Baili Xunzhou chuckled. "I was thinking your name in my heart when you appeared and chased them all away."
The rising steam seeped into his empty eyes, making his dark pupils appear as if they had been washed clean, giving him a pitiful and endearing look.
He held Feng Mian tightly in his arms, "I'm so lucky, aren't I?"
Passionate, fiery kisses fell haphazardly, bringing a slight itch, and finally imprinted firmly on the sealed lips.
Feng Mian hugged him back, feeling dizzy. She felt she must have been overwhelmed by the heat to indulge his whims. Her palm touched the uneven scars on his skin, her movements so gentle that she was afraid of hurting him, and she pulled away as soon as she touched him.
So be it. He's blind and already feeling uneasy. Let him do whatever he wants...
Broken thoughts shattered in the deep kiss, leaving only a sense of utter despair.
Their long, wet, jet-black hair intertwined in the water, as dense as seaweed.
The air was as thick as flowing honey, and the clear, gurgling sound of water masked the rising and falling, enchanting breaths.
Liu Ying, who was waiting in the side room, yawned. "It's been more than an hour. Why haven't the princess and the prince come out yet? The medicine has gone cold. We'll have to brew it again later."
"Why don't you go ask?" Wu Liu peeled a fruit and ate it.
"I won't go. If I cause any trouble..." Liu Ying blushed, her brows furrowing in worry, "Wouldn't the young master hold a grudge against me?"
"It seems she's coming out." Wu Liu's ears twitched; she vaguely heard the princess calling her name. She quickly pushed open the door and went out, responding, "Princess?"
From inside the room came Feng Mian's order: "Go and invite Ah Xue over."
Wu Liu and Liu Ying, who followed behind her, looked at each other in bewilderment.
After a stick of incense had burned, Liu Jixue sat upright at the table, her gaze sweeping over Baili Xunzhou, whose hair was still wet, from top to bottom. She then did the same to Feng Mian, her eyes full of disapproval.
Unable to see Liu Jixue's expression, Baili Xunzhou remained calm and composed, a smile playing on his lips as he asked, "How are you? You should be alright, right? I don't feel anything. In fact, after taking a bath, I feel much more refreshed."
"Was that because you were taking a bath?" Liu Jixue resisted the urge to roll her eyes at him. She couldn't give a blind man a dirty look; she'd wait until he regained his sight.
“Of course you don’t feel anything,” Liu Jixue said with the composure of a doctor, her tone restrained. “The edges of the wound are swollen from being soaked in water; you’ve probably been numb for a long time.”
"A bath is fine, but please be more moderate next time. Even an ordinary person's skin would wrinkle after soaking in a hot bath for so long." In the end, she couldn't help but glare at Baili Xunzhou.
Feng Mian silently turned her head away, wishing she could disappear into a crack in the ground, her face flushed as she forced herself to remain calm.
