Chapter 133 Still Sleeping?
Just as Song Nan's case was over, Wen Jiu got a rape case. The investigation revealed that the victim was simply delivering documents to the place her superior had asked her to go, but she never expected something like this to happen. It was only afterward that a waiter outside heard something was wrong and went in to check.
The victim lay unconscious in the hospital bed, while the suspect, Gu Xu, and his group of wealthy second-generation heirs continued their extravagant lifestyle.
She even said to the prosecutors, "She dressed up like that herself to come to us, and she took off her clothes voluntarily. What do we call this? We call it consensual."
Tonight, Wen Jiu was originally at the police station consulting with Captain Liu about case details when they received a report that something had happened at Bo Chenxuan. Upon hearing that it was Bo Chenxuan, Wen Jiu immediately called Li Yue, whose gathering was tonight.
Wen Jiu dialed the number and breathed a sigh of relief the moment the call connected.
But there was still no response from the other end, which made her worry again.
"Hey, Yueyue."
As soon as Wen Jiu opened her mouth, the person on the other end started crying.
"Xiaojiu."
When they arrived at the location, a cordon had already been set up around it.
Wen Jiu entered the room with her ID and went straight to Li Yue's room.
But before she could get on the elevator, a familiar name suddenly rang in her ears.
"Little Jiu, my little sister."
Wen Jiu paused in her forward movement and turned her head away.
Even under the cold light, the man maintained his nonchalant demeanor.
"It really is you! I thought I was seeing things," Xie Tinghe walked over. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to pick them up."
"Prosecutor Wen."
Two voices rang out simultaneously.
After Captain Liu finished his on-site investigation, Wen Jiu met his gaze, said "Sorry" to the person in front of her, and walked away.
"You know him?" Old Liu glanced back.
“We had some contact in college,” Wen Jiu replied casually, then asked about the case, “What’s the situation?”
"A group of rich kids went too far. I wonder if that girl can be saved."
After saying that, Lao Liu took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket.
Wen Jiu's heart sank suddenly.
Neither of them spoke again, and they stood silently at the door.
After finishing his cigarette, Old Liu said goodbye: "I'm going to check on the situation."
"Um."
After Lao Liu left, Wen Jiu turned around to go upstairs and saw a man standing not far away.
The cold light fell on his shoulder. He stood tall and straight, with deep and exquisite features. When he wasn't smiling, he had a natural coldness about him. His gaze toward her was indifferent and aloof.
She suddenly felt as if something had stabbed her heart.
Old Liu's words suddenly echoed in my ears: A group of rich kids have gone too far.
Wen Jiu looked at him, feeling that this matter couldn't possibly have anything to do with him, yet she couldn't help but worry.
While she was lost in thought, Zhou Yanchuan walked over. Looking at the person who was about to pass her by, Wen Jiu cracked her knuckles and said, "President Zhou."
The steps forward came to a halt.
He turned his head to look at her.
"May I ask why you're here?"
"Is Prosecutor Wen questioning me about an investigation?"
Wen Jiu pursed her lips: "No."
Zhou Yanchuan lowered his eyes, looking at her trembling eyelashes and her small, pale face, and suddenly curled his lips: "Then I have nothing to say."
After saying that, Zhou Yanchuan didn't glance at her again and walked straight ahead.
Lu Nian, standing to the side, was at a loss for how to react. He stood there blankly for a few seconds before remembering to follow.
But as soon as they reached the corner, the person in front stopped and calmly gave the order: "Have someone follow her."
“But just now,” Lu Nian began, but was stopped by a glance from someone, “Yes.”
Zhou Yanchuan kept replaying the words "President Zhou" in his mind, and chuckled. After all these years, no one is as infuriating as her.
Wen Jiu got out of the elevator and walked straight to the room at the far end of the corner, but when she opened the door, she found that Li Yue was not there.
Only Xiao Rou, her face streaked with tears, was seen running towards her as soon as the girl saw her coming. She wiped her tears with her hands.
"Sister Jiu Jiu, Yue Yue was taken away by a man."
"What man?"
"I don't know him, he's with the group that bullied Qu Ting."
Wen Jiu didn't recognize "Qu Ting" but could roughly guess that this was the bullied model that Lao Liu had mentioned.
My heart tightened, but I tried my best to reassure them: "Don't worry, first tell me if you know where they went?"
"I don't know, but I... I heard them talking about the top floor or something."
After listening, Wen Jiu walked out and dialed Lao Liu's number on her phone.
There should be another group of people on the top floor.
"Miss, you're not allowed here without a membership card—"
Wen Jiu raised her hand to show her ID, and the waiter's face immediately showed difficulty. She coldly rebuked him, and only then did the man hand over the elevator card.
Upon reaching the top floor, Wen Jiu pushed open the door without hesitation.
*
"Boss, Miss Wen has gone to the top floor."
Zhou Yanchuan frowned as he listened to the voice on the phone.
"Where is she going and what is she doing?"
Lu Nianjie was taken aback by the question. He hadn't expected him to care about this. He paused for a few seconds and said, "It seems like he's looking for a friend."
Zhou Yanchuan hung up the phone and got up from the sofa.

The light from the corridor suddenly flooded in, and the people in the room subconsciously looked up. When Gu Xu saw the figure in the doorway, his eyes widened and he cursed under his breath, "What the hell is this woman doing here?"
"Do you know them?" someone asked.
"The prosecutor I mentioned earlier, the one who's been bothering me lately."
Wen Jiu didn't pay attention to Gu Xu's side, but was searching for Li Yue's whereabouts among the unfamiliar faces in the room.
She scanned everyone present but still couldn't find him. Getting anxious, she was about to step back and make another call when a man walked towards her. Before he could speak, a voice suddenly came from behind her: "Excuse me."
Wen Jiu abruptly stopped in her tracks as she reached for her phone.
Before anyone could react, everyone in the room rushed over and surrounded Zhou Yanchuan when they saw him arrive.
Wen Jiu was pushed aside, and just before the door closed, she clearly heard someone ask, "Do you know me?"
Immediately following was that cold yet familiar voice: "Don't know me."
...
Gu Xu noticed the glance Zhou Yanchuan gave the woman at the door when he entered, and immediately started talking: "Don't let her pretty appearance fool you, she's very difficult to deal with, and she won't listen to either soft or hard tactics."
"How so?" someone echoed.
"The other day I asked the prosecutor if she had time to go out and have some fun. Guess what she said?" Gu Xu piqued her curiosity, paused for a few seconds, and then said, "She said she loves going to prison and asked if I wanted to come along?"
The people on the sofa burst into laughter.
Zhou Yanchuan's lips twitched slightly.
Seeing his reaction, Gu Xu became interested and continued, "But this woman is really something else. She looks so innocent, yet she's full of thorns. It's quite refreshing."
He took a deep drag of his cigarette as he spoke, as if lost in some kind of reverie.
Under the light, Zhou Yanchuan's features were clearly defined, and his gaze was melancholy.
A group of people around him were laughing.
"You little brat, do you have a death wish? Even prosecutors want to touch you."
"It's just sleeping with a woman. Believe me or not, I can get her in my bed tonight."
The laughter from all around grew even louder.
"As expected of our young CEO Gu."
This group of people are used to being arrogant and always find new ways to have fun. In their eyes, there is nothing that money can't solve; if there is, it's because the price isn't high enough.
Just as they were getting into their conversation, the person who had been silent all along casually picked up a bottle of wine from the table.
The group fell silent in unison, their eyes following the sound.
Amid their puzzled gazes, a loud crash of shattering glass suddenly echoed from inside the private room.
It was impossible to tell whether it was blood or wine; the crimson liquid dripped slowly down Gu Xu's forehead.
Whether he was stunned or simply didn't realize what was happening, he sat there motionless.
The culprit who had just smashed someone's head remained calm, as if he had merely done a trivial matter. Ignoring the deathly atmosphere in the private room, he picked up a tissue from the table and slowly wiped the wine stains that had splattered on his clothes.
A moment later, he looked up, his tone casual: "Still sleeping?"
