Chapter 135 Zhou Yanchuan, do you have to talk like that?

Chapter 135 Zhou Yanchuan, do you have to talk like that?

Wen Jiu stood there for a while to catch her breath, then took Xiao Huang downstairs. As they passed the man on the way out, unsurprisingly, the little guy became alert once again.

If I had doubts before, after this test, I already have the answer in my heart.

Wen Jiu took Xiao Huang outside and sent a text message to Lao Liu on her phone.

"The captain said he's still keeping an eye on your Miss Wen, isn't he?" Chu Qi's colleague next to her at the door teased.

He smiled and said, "Miss Wen is beautiful and gentle."

"Yes, but I heard from Sister An that she's planning to move away."

A colleague casually remarked, but the man's expression clearly turned cold. "Move out?"

"They said it's inconvenient to work here."

Chu Qi didn't say anything more, but after a while she turned around and said, "I'm going to the restroom."

As soon as Lu Nian saw the man come out of the residential area, she took out her phone and sent a text message to Zhou Yanchuan.

While waiting for Lao Liu to send the police, Wen Jiu took Xiao Huang to a nearby park.

She played frisbee with it on the lawn for a long time, and when it was panting, she stroked its head and said, "Mommy will go buy you a bottle of water. Wait here for me for a while."

There was a vending machine not far away. After giving instructions, Wen Jiu saw that it was sitting obediently on the lawn, so he got up and walked over.

Shortly after she left, she didn't notice a sausage being thrown out of the bushes.

Wen Jiu took out her phone to scan the QR code, and with a "thud," the mineral water bottle fell out.

She crouched down to pick it up, when suddenly a voice rang in her ear: "Miss Wen."

Wen Jiu froze, her scalp tingling. She tried her best to control her expression as she turned her head.

Upon seeing the man who was only inches away from her, she smiled and asked, "What are you doing here, Captain Chu?"

"I just saw you come out and suddenly remembered something I forgot to tell you."

"What's up?"

Chu Qi looked at that feigned calm face and laughed.

Wen Jiu felt a chill in her heart. This person was more perceptive than she had imagined. His reaction probably meant he had already guessed that she knew.

The two were too close to run away, so she could only pretend to be confused and back away step by step, while her hand reached into her pocket at the same time: "What does Captain Chu mean by this?"

"Didn't Miss Wen already guess?"

Wen Jiu gripped the baton in her pocket, completely unaware that there was a hole under her feet. The next second, the feeling of falling made her heart jump, but before she could fall, her shoulder was caught.

The cool-toned perfume instantly enveloped her; it was a scent she knew all too well.

Chu Qi's expression turned icy as she looked at the man who had suddenly appeared behind the woman: "Who is he?"

"you have boyfriend?"

After asking two questions, the man gave the man no time to react, and his emotions suddenly spiraled out of control.

"You bitch!"

He cursed under his breath, then suddenly pulled a knife from his pocket and swung it at Wen Jiu.

All of this happened in an instant; Wen Jiu didn't even have time to react before the knife fell.

She instinctively reached out her arm to block it, but the pain she expected didn't come. Instead, she felt warm drops on the back of her hand.

Zhou Yanchuan raised his hand to grasp the knife that was being swung at him, his face expressionless. As he raised his leg to kick the man away, the girl in his arms took out a baton from her pocket first and, without hesitation, struck the man's leg directly.

"Ah—" The man curled up on the ground in pain.

Zhou Yanchuan was slightly taken aback. He raised his eyebrows, but instead of looking at the person groaning on the ground, he looked down at the woman in front of him.

Wen Jiu snapped out of her daze and turned around to check on the people behind her, but before she could say anything, she saw a dog lying motionless on the grass not far away.

Her heart sank.

*

Pet hospital.

Zhou Yanchuan stood against the wall, while Wen Jiu stood a few steps away at the door of the ward, her face revealing little emotion.

There was no trace of the person who had just picked up the dog from the ground with red eyes.

When the ward door opened, she went over and asked, "How are you?"

"They arrived in time, and the dog didn't swallow too much, so it's out of danger now."

Wen Jiu suddenly breathed a sigh of relief, and tears belatedly fell down her cheeks.

Since Zhou Yanchuan went abroad, she has rarely shed tears in recent years, but right now she really can't bear the thought of Xiao Huang having another accident.

The feeling of having lost something and then regaining it made her unable to hold back her tears, but when she thought of Zhou Yanchuan still being there, she turned her back, gently stroked her cheek with her hand, and wiped away her tears.

Zhou Yanchuan noticed her movement and frowned.

After Wen Jiu regained her composure, she turned to him and looked at his still bleeding hand: "You should go to the hospital quickly."

He stood still, clearly trying to suppress something, but ultimately couldn't, and asked in a cold tone, "A prosecutor who didn't even know he was being followed for so long?"

Wen Jiu wanted to say that she knew, but she was just used to it, which was why she seemed calm. But she didn't know what he would think if she told him. Would he worry or be indifferent? But Wen Jiu didn't want either of those things to happen.

Seeing the silent person, Zhou Yanchuan's anger burned even more intensely, but looking at the wet eyelashes, he couldn't bear to part with them. After a few seconds of silence, he said, "When Xiao Huang is better, send me a message and I'll take it with me."

"Why?" Wen Jiu raised her head, her tone noticeably changing.

"You can't even guarantee your own safety, how can you take good care of it?"

Wen Jiu paused for a few seconds after being asked the question, then said, "I will do my best to raise him."

"Should we raise it to emergency care?"

Wen Jiu's nose tingled with a little soreness from the question, and her words unconsciously carried a hint of grievance: "Zhou Yanchuan, do you have to talk like that?"

Zhou Yanchuan's eyes flickered slightly, but his words remained indifferent: "How else should I say it, Xiao Jiu?"

He moved closer and gently stroked the reddened corner of her eye with his bloodless hand: "Have you forgotten what you said back then?"

Wen Jiu's eyes were open, and her back stiffened at his sudden approach and the way he called her "Xiao Jiu." Her heart ached at the question, and she couldn't say a word.

Zhou Yanchuan withdrew his hand and, where no one was watching, gently rubbed the dampness on his fingertips.

As if issuing an ultimatum, he said, "I'll come and get it in a few days."

"don't want."

The person who had remained calm in front of him for so long spoke just like he used to.

Zhou Yanchuan's Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he looked at that aloof face and said slowly, "I didn't discuss it with you."
