Chapter 48 Love at First Sight

Chapter 48 Love at First Sight

After placing Xiao Huang at Zhou Yanchuan's door, Wen Jiu lowered her voice and spoke to it.

"Xiao Huang, I'm going away for a while. You'll stay with him for the next few days. I'll pick you up when I get back."

The puppy tilted its head from side to side, seemingly trying to understand what the girl meant.

"I'm leaving."

Wen Jiu waved to the little guy in the cage, while also sticking a sticky note on it.

"Woo~" The little guy, who had been quiet the whole time from being taken out of the house to being placed here, started pawing at the cage when he saw the girl leave.

It made "humming" sounds.

Wen Jiu turned around as soon as she heard the sound, and felt a pang of pain in her heart when she met those bright black eyes in the cage.

A puppy that has been abandoned will surely think that she doesn't want it anymore.

“I don’t mean I don’t want you,” she turned back, squatted down and whispered, “I’m going to participate in a competition. I’ll be back in a few days and then I’ll bring you home.”

She gently stroked its head.

Before leaving, I was still worried that the little one would be scared, so I finally rang the doorbell.

She only felt at ease after watching Zhou Yanchuan carry the little guy home from the stairwell.

*

Zhou Yanchuan looked down at the note in his hand.

"I'm going to a training camp for about a week, and I'd like you to look after Xiao Huang for me. Thank you."

He gave a slight twitch of his lips.

That's as if they don't know each other.

Moreover, from yesterday until now, they haven't replied to messages or answered phone calls.

Thinking about these things, a hint of restlessness appeared between his dark eyebrows and eyes.

When Wen Jiu arrived at the agreed location, many students from other schools were already standing in the square. Just as she was wondering where to go, a female voice rang in her ears.

"Wen Jiu."

She looked in the direction of the voice and saw the teacher who was in charge of taking them to the training camp.

"Teacher Lin," Wen Jiu walked over and greeted her politely.

Lin Ran looked at the well-behaved girl in front of her and reached out to touch the top of her head. "Why did you come so early? Aren't you cold?"

Wen Jiu shook her head.

The woman smiled at her and said, "We'll get on the bus when our students arrive in a little while."

"good."

As the two were talking, a tall figure walked over, pulling a suitcase.

Lin Ran looked puzzled. Judging from the school uniform, it was an experimental one. What was she doing here?

Before she could ask "classmate", she noticed that the boy's gaze was fixed on the girl next to her.

Immediately afterwards, a clear, deep voice rang in my ears: "Long time no see."

Lin Ran's intuition as a teacher told her that the way the boy looked at the girl next to her was unusual.

An alarm bell rang in my mind.

but.

She turned her head and glanced at the girl.

The girl had innocent and pure eyes, and when the boy came up to greet her, she simply smiled politely.

I immediately felt much more at ease.

Lu Jingci kept his eyes down, looking at the person in front of him. It had been almost a year since he last saw her. The girl had grown taller than she had in junior high school, but her face was smaller, about the size of a palm, which made her eyes look even bigger.

She was wearing her school uniform as always, standing there, looking pure and beautiful.

He hadn't planned to participate in the competition, but the thought that she might come made him decide to come.

I never expected that he would actually run into it.

While queuing to board the bus, Lu Jingci could see the girl diagonally to his side, as the two schools, No. 1 Middle School and Experimental Middle School, were next to each other.

"Still watching?" A voice came from behind him. Lu Jingci turned around and met Shen Che's meaningful gaze: "How long have you been watching?"

He raised the corners of his lips slightly, but didn't say anything.

For a moment, Shen Che was dazed. Before he knew about the girl, he had always thought that Lu Jingci was not interested in anything except studying.

"This girl looks so well-behaved," Shen Che, standing behind, couldn't help but look at the girl to the side.

From his angle, all you can see is a pure and beautiful profile.

"How did you two meet? Were you in the same class?" he couldn't help but ask curiously.

When Lu Jingci asked this question, the scene of their first meeting flashed through his mind.

That day after school, he came downstairs as usual.

When I reached the corner between the first and second floors, I saw a small figure squatting in the stairwell picking up pieces of paper, one of which was blown up by the wind.

She hurriedly stood up and chased after it, but the wind kept blowing.

The hand that was stretched out in the air almost touched the paper each time.

He couldn't see the girl's face clearly, but he noticed that her slender white neck was getting redder and redder.

Lu Jingci stood there for two seconds, then walked down the stairs. Just then, the wind stopped, and the paper slowly drifted down to his feet.

As he bent down to pick it up and was about to hand it to the girl, he glanced at the paper and saw the blue-background ID photo.

As he stood there in a daze, a gentle female voice rang in his ears.

"classmate."

He looked up and was caught off guard by a pair of clean, clear eyes.

Outside the window, lush greenery abounds, and dappled sunlight falls on her beautiful eyes. The girl, dressed in a blue and white school uniform, has a delicate and lively appearance.

She pointed to the piece of paper in his hand.

Realizing his lapse in composure, Lu Jingci said "sorry" and handed over the paper.

“It’s alright,” the girl said, reaching out to take it, and adding, “Thank you.”

Just when he thought she was about to leave, she suddenly smiled, and Lu Jingci's eyelashes trembled involuntarily, his cheeks suddenly burning.

"You," he was about to speak when the person suddenly ran past him.

A delicate fragrance wafted on the breeze, along with a sweet, soft voice—

"Zhou Yanchuan."

*

Lu Jingci pulled his thoughts away from his memories, a hint of bitterness flashing in his eyes. "Yes, in the same class."

"How many years were you in the same class?"

"Two years."

"Two years?" Shen Che was surprised. "You haven't confessed for two years."

"Does she look like someone who would date young?"

Hearing this, Shen Che laughed: "So you think you're the kind of person who would have a crush on someone?"

He didn't even dare to let the people at school know that the seemingly aloof academic genius in public had a crush on a girl from junior high to high school.

*

"elder brother."

As soon as Zhou Yanchuan sat down, Su Shun rushed over in a fluster and whispered, "I think I really do know."

"What do you know?" Zhou Yanchuan replied lazily, without even raising his eyes.

"There's another boy who's involved with the class monitor, and that guy seems more like someone the class monitor would have a crush on."

The person who was about to lie down on the table to sleep stopped, leaned back in the chair, and gestured with their eyes for them to continue.

“Yesterday when I went out to eat, a friend’s girlfriend said that she was in the same class as the class monitor in middle school.”

"Then what?"

"Then she said that there was a boy who was very close to the class monitor at the time."

"who?"

“Who?” Su Shun’s mind suddenly went blank. After thinking for a while, he slapped his forehead and said, “Lu Jingci.”

“Lu Jingci,” Zhou Yanchuan felt as if he had heard the name somewhere before.

At that moment, the person next to him suddenly said, "He's a pretty awesome guy."
