Chapter 182 Going Mad

Chapter 182 Going Mad

Pairs of eyes, like searchlights, eagerly peered into the room, trying to catch any clue.

However, all they saw was Song Zhiwei standing quietly at the door, her expression calm and her clothes neat.

The room was clean and tidy. Apart from Chen Yun sitting on the sofa wrapped in a bathrobe, there were no other men in sight, and there was no chaotic scene as I had imagined.

The crowd looked at each other, and for a moment no one dared to speak.

Song Zhiwei still wore that faint smile on her face, her tone as natural as a casual greeting: "Is there something you all need? It's so late, why are you all gathered at the door? Have you run into some trouble?"

Wasn't it supposed to have some exciting scenes?

"Miss Chen... what are you doing here?"

Someone couldn't help but cautiously ask, their tone tinged with a mixture of probing and surprise.

Song Zhiwei stood at the door, her eyes smiling, her expression calm, as if the chaos before her was not worth her even a second glance.

She replied softly, "We're old friends. We just happened to run into each other and chatted about some personal matters. Are you here to see her?"

"Huh? No, no, no, we're just passing by! We really are just passing by!"

The man waved his hands repeatedly, his face filled with panic and embarrassment, wishing he could find a crack in the ground to crawl into and escape this sudden hellish situation.

Song Zhiwei nodded gently, her tone gentle yet authoritative: "I haven't finished talking with her yet. If you have nothing else to say, I'll close the door."

As soon as she finished speaking, her eyes turned cold, her wrist tightened, and she slammed the door shut with a loud bang.

The sound was crisp and clean, as if drawing a line, isolating outside curiosity and prying eyes.

A few seconds of silence fell outside the door, and a deathly stillness spread through the corridor.

Immediately afterwards, a low murmur arose like the buzzing of mosquitoes. Some shook their heads, some sighed, and some chuckled. Eventually, they all dispersed, leaving only an empty corridor and an awkward atmosphere that had not yet dissipated.

The house is finally quiet.

Song Zhiwei breathed a sigh of relief, her shoulders relaxed slightly, and she turned to walk towards the bathroom with light steps, as if trying to shake off the tension from before.

But just as she reached out to push open the bathroom door, her wrist was suddenly grabbed by a force.

She turned around and met Chen Yun's red eyes.

"Now, it's our turn to settle accounts."

Chen Yun gritted her teeth, her voice low and hoarse, filled with long-suppressed resentment and malice.

Song Zhiwei stared at her, her gaze unwavering, yet her eyes seemed to be covered in frost, so cold that no one dared to look directly at her.

She slowly raised her hand, her movements swift and decisive, and slapped him hard across the face.

This was something she had been holding back for far too long.

The slap was crisp and hard, the sound of it echoing loudly in the quiet room.

The air seemed to vibrate with the sound of that slap.

Chen Yun's face tilted to the side, and a burning pain spread from her cheek to her earlobe, causing her to gasp and tears to well up in her eyes instantly.

She suddenly raised her hand, her nails sharp, and went straight for Song Zhiwei's hair, as if she wanted to tear her face apart.

But Song Zhiwei was prepared. She dodged and grabbed Song Zhiwei's wrist with such force that she almost crushed the bone.

Immediately afterwards, she used the force to pull Chen Yun hard onto the bed.

The mattress jolted violently, and Chen Yun's back slammed against the edge of the bed, letting out a muffled groan of pain.

Before she could react, Song Zhiwei had already pounced on her.

One kick, two kicks, three kicks...

She showed no mercy.

Every step she took was imbued with the emotions she had suppressed for many days—the grievances of being ignored, the torment of sleepless nights, the humiliation of being treated coldly, and the repeated words that pierced her heart: "You are not good enough for him."

It's not that she's not gentle.

Even gentleness can be selective, depending on who you're being gentle with.

She has no obligation to continue to tolerate someone who repeatedly tramples on her bottom line and challenges her dignity.

"You were being sarcastic in the elevator, deliberately using that bracelet to mislead me, and now you dare to scheme against my boyfriend? Chen Yun, do you really think I'm easy to bully?"

Song Zhiwei's voice was frighteningly calm, each word like a knife cutting into Chen Yun's heart.

Chen Yun never expected that Song Zhiwei, who was usually gentle and timid, speaking with a hint of shyness, like a delicate little flower being held in someone's palm, could unleash such tremendous strength.

Her eyes widened in terror and anger. She struggled desperately to break free, but Song Zhiwei held her head down firmly with one hand, pinning her to the bed and rendering her immobile.

"You bitch! Let go of me right now! What are you doing? Are you crazy?!"

Chen Yun screamed with all her might, her nails scratching wildly in the air, but she couldn't even touch the hem of Song Zhiwei's clothes.

Just as she was struggling frantically, she suddenly heard the sound of a key turning at the door.

Mo Huaizhi pushed open the door and entered, his gaze sweeping across the room, only to be met with this scene.

He stopped abruptly, frozen in place, his pupils contracting slightly, clearly speechless from the shock of what he saw.

He stood there stunned for a full two seconds before managing a dry laugh, his voice weak: "Zhiwei, where... is Tingzhou?"

Upon hearing this, Song Zhiwei instantly pictured the silent and aloof figure in the bathroom. Her heart tightened, and she finally released her grip on Chen Yun's hand.

Chen Yun was panting heavily, her face covered in messy tears and handprints. She was about to struggle to her feet and lunge at Song Zhiwei when she was stopped by a strong arm.

Mo Huai stepped forward, standing between the two, his expression solemn and his voice steady: "Chen Yun, that's enough. You should know the consequences of what you did today."

Chen Yun slowly raised her head, her eyes fixed on him, her gaze like a poisoned blade, surging with hatred that almost spilled from her eyes.

She bit her lower lip so hard it almost bled, but she didn't say a word. Her eyes, however, were filled with resentment, bitterness, and shattered pride.

Song Zhiwei rushed into the bathroom, her steps hurried, her heels making a messy sound on the tiles.

She almost stumbled to Sheng Tingzhou's side, half-kneeling on the cold floor tiles, quickly cupping his face in her hands, her fingertips trembling as she stroked his burning forehead and purplish lips.

Her voice was strained, hoarse with the urge to cry: "Tingzhou, are you still feeling unwell? How are you feeling right now? Don't be afraid, I'll take you to the hospital right away!"

Every inch of Sheng Tingzhou's skin felt like it was being stung by countless venomous scorpions, the stinging pain spreading deep into his bone marrow.

His chest heaved violently, as if it were being burned by fire, and each breath felt like swallowing razor blades.

His lips moved, and a series of hoarse sounds came from his throat. Finally, he blinked with difficulty and nodded very slightly but clearly.

Song Zhiwei immediately turned around and shouted loudly towards the door, "Brother Huaizhi! Can you come and help? Quick! Tingzhou is in bad shape, he can't hold on!"

"Oh, okay."

Upon hearing the shout, Mo Huaizhi immediately dropped what he was holding and rushed into the bathroom.

He immediately saw Sheng Tingzhou curled up on the ground, his face purple, his breathing rapid and disordered, cold sweat streaming down his forehead, and his collar soaked with sweat.

His expression changed drastically, and his brows furrowed tightly: "What kind of medicine is this? How could this happen? This reaction... is much more severe than last time!"
