Chapter 67 Huo Lan, you will regret this...

Jiang Shiyuan had no idea where she was. Her phone had completely lost signal, and she couldn't search the map.

The island wasn't large, but it was beautiful. Many tall palm trees were still glossy and lush, and the climate was warm like spring. It wasn't the same season as back home, so she could only tell that she had left the country and was somewhere in the tropical low latitudes, but she couldn't tell exactly where.

Their villa was not far from the sea, and through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, they could overlook almost the entire sea. The glow of the setting sun shimmered on the mirror-like sea, leaving a dazzling sight in their eyes.

After arriving on the island, she was taken to this villa, where Huo Lan held her in his arms by the upstairs window and watched the sunset all afternoon.

As dusk settled and the room grew gloomy, he remained seated by the window, holding her in his arms, without uttering a single word.

Aren't you tired?

Jiang Shiyuan felt numb sitting in his arms, but Huo Lan remained unmoved, gazing at the dark blue sea in the distance.

He didn't come to his senses until the lighthouse at sea lit up. He adjusted his position slightly and placed her on the sofa beside him, but still held her in his arms, as if she would disappear if he let go.

Huo Lan lowered his eyes and asked, "Are you hungry?"

Jiang Shiyuan had experienced a turmoil during the day and then spent a long time traveling by car and boat in the afternoon. She simply didn't have the energy to argue with him anymore, so she could only nod.

Dinner was the familiar meal for pregnant women, and seemingly to appease her, he also had someone make her a bowl of mango pomelo sago.

The temperature on the island was not low, and the mango pomelo sago was sweet, sour, and refreshing, but Jiang Shiyuan couldn't eat anything. However, she didn't want Tuantuan to go hungry, so she almost held her breath and swallowed the food.

Jiang Shiyuan put down the spoon in her hand and asked, "When can I leave?"

Huo Lan ate his meal slowly and deliberately, answering evasively, "You've only just arrived and aren't very familiar with the area yet. I'll take you for a walk in a bit; the sea breeze is very pleasant at night."

Jiang Shiyuan grew increasingly agitated, but she still had to suppress her emotions and calmly said, "Huo Lan, what you're doing is wrong. I am an independent individual, not a toy that you can lock up whenever you want!"

"A toy?" Huo Lan raised an eyebrow, chuckling inwardly. "Would you like me to play with that toy tonight?"

Jiang Shiyuan could no longer contain her anger and grabbed a plate from the table, smashing it hard on the ground.

The beautiful, delicate white porcelain plate shattered instantly, and the remaining soup inside splashed everywhere, staining the hem of her skirt.

Huo Lan remained gentle and mild-mannered, not annoyed by Jiang Shiyuan's sudden outburst. Instead, he pulled a napkin from the table, bent down to Jiang Shiyuan, and patiently wiped the hem of her skirt.

"Look, you were the one who brought it up first, yet you're getting angry."

Seeing Huo Lan's calm and composed demeanor, Jiang Shiyuan felt as if she had punched a piece of cotton.

She would rather he wear his anger on his face like he did during the day than see his calm and collected demeanor, as if he had everything under control.

That made him seem hysterical.

"Baby, don't be angry. I misspoke." He gently coaxed her, but never mentioned leaving. He looked down at her belly and spoke to the unborn child, "Tuantuan doesn't want Mommy to be angry either, does he?"

Jiang Shiyuan calmed herself down again and tried to persuade Huo Lan to take her away, "Exams are coming up soon, I can't just stay here playing all the time..."

Suddenly remembering something, she asked, "Weren't you in a meeting today? Didn't they give you any trouble?"

A different look finally appeared in Huo Lan's eyes. He looked up at Jiang Shiyuan, but with a hint of coldness. "You really want me to be made difficult by those people? Do you think that if I lose, I won't be able to keep you?"

Jiang Shiyuan immediately retorted, "No, I just suddenly remembered. Why don't you think I'm concerned about you?"

"Oh? You care about me too?" Huo Lan's lips curled up slightly. "You don't know that I attempted suicide after you left, and you don't know that at our engagement party half a year ago, when I saw that the person wasn't you, I vomited blood and fainted."

Huo Lan tried to describe it in a calm tone, "You don't know anything. What have you ever cared about me for? If I hadn't used every means to keep you, you would still be out there having a good time, completely ignoring my life and death."

“I…” Jiang Shiyuan felt as if a huge stone had been placed on her chest, and she couldn’t say anything at that moment.

Yes, she knew nothing. She thought that being obedient and well-behaved would give him a sense of security, and he would gradually become less obsessive. But she was wrong.

He longed for a lover who would dote on him, but right now, Jiang Shiyuan only wanted to escape and couldn't achieve that.

Even though she wanted to be a good Mrs. Huo, she could never convince herself that she wanted to leave.

Jiang Shiyuan's nose tingled with tears as she said, "Have you ever thought that we're simply not suited to be together?"

Huo Lan smiled, but there was no warmth in her eyes. "I won't allow you to say such things. We were meant to be together. We are a couple destined to be together."

"At today's meeting, in front of all the company's top executives and shareholders, I announced that you are the only wife I have ever recognized, and now the entire Huo family will never look down on you again." A layer of disappointment gradually crept onto Huo Lan's face. "But what about you? You were downstairs meeting with another man, and you almost bumped into him..."

Jiang Shiyuan stood up from the dining table and paced back and forth in the living room, as if this could relieve her inner turmoil.

She thought she was cold and tolerant enough, but she found that if she continued to restrain herself, she would go crazy.

“I’ve already said that I didn’t know Xie Shuning came to the company, and I’ve also said that Jiang Chen can testify to this. If you don’t listen, that’s your problem.”

Huo Lan casually tossed the stained white napkin back onto the table, stepped forward, grabbed Jiang Shiyuan's arm, and led her toward the study.

He coldly opened the last drawer of the cabinet, took out a thick file bag, and poured out all the photos of her and Xie Shuning from that year abroad.

The angles of the photos are not fixed; some are from surveillance footage, and some are close-up shots taken secretly.

Scenes of Xie Shuning taking her out to play, stroking her hair, buying her clothes and jewelry... There's even a photo inside the villa, which, from the angle of the shot, looks like they're kissing intimately.

Jiang Shiyuan suddenly felt dizzy, not because Huo Lan knew about her affair with Xie Shuning, but because even the first glance she thought she had escaped Huo Lan's control hadn't freed her from his grasp.

Jiang Shiyuan's tears fell like a broken string. "You had already sent people to monitor me back then? Then why didn't you come to find me and take me away?"

“If I had found you back then, I would never have let these things happen between you and Xie Shuning!” Huo Lan said through gritted teeth. “These photos were sent to me anonymously not long ago. They wanted to see me go crazy and make me make the wrong decision in my anger, but they didn’t expect that I was prepared and had already got hold of that person’s dirt.”

Huo Lan grabbed Jiang Shiyuan by the back of the neck and pulled her up in front of him, their breaths almost touching.

"Do you know how heartbroken I was when I saw these photos? But I believed you because you told me before that you hadn't betrayed me in the past three years, so I secretly hid everything. But what about you?"

“Now I have to believe the authenticity of these photos, Jiang Shiyuan. Have you been with him all along?”

He suddenly released his hold on her, forcing her to press down on the table to steady herself.

Huo Lan's icy gaze swept over her entire body, his eyes filled with the embers of anger, as if all the strength had been drained from her.

"During the year he kept you in the villa, you two must have done it countless times, right?"

His voice wasn't loud, but it sounded extremely harsh to Jiang Shiyuan.

She didn't refute or explain; she simply said, "I hate you."

Huo Lan chuckled lightly, "Hate is good. Hate is a more intense emotion than love. Since you don't want to love me, then hate me. It will also prove that I am special in your life."

As soon as Huo Lan finished speaking, he tried to pull Jiang Shiyuan into his arms, but Jiang Shiyuan was completely enraged and struggled violently, with more strength than ever before.

But she still couldn't resist Huo Lan's strength. He pressed her into his arms and held the back of her head so she could hear his own heart pounding wildly.

“My dear, whether you’ve been with him or not, I don’t care anymore. As long as you’re mine now, you’ll always be mine, and I will always love you.”

He began to weave a fantastical fairy tale for himself: "So, stay here obediently, take good care of yourself during childbirth, and we will be happy."

His breath grew increasingly hot, and the hand supporting the back of Jiang Shiyuan's head exerted a little more force, forcing her to lift her head to receive his disordered breathing.

Huo Lan lightly touched her lips with a dragonfly's touch, then began his assault, picking her up and placing her on the desk, tearing at her skirt.

Jiang Shiyuan continued to struggle violently, taking advantage of his momentary lapse in attention to bite down hard on his neck, barely loosening her grip. Her sharp teeth quickly sank into his soft skin, a metallic taste filling her mouth, but Huo Lan still held her tightly, refusing to let go.

After she calmed down a bit and opened her mouth, he raised his head from in front of her and looked at her crimson lips stained with his blood.

"So beautiful." He pressed his fingertip against her soft lips. "My Shiyuan is so charming no matter what she looks like."

Jiang Shiyuan looked at him lifelessly and said coldly, "Huo Lan, you will regret this."

"I won't regret it. I never do anything I'll regret." Huo Lan leaned down and kissed her lips again, gently sucking on them, feeling the taste and warmth of each other's blood. "I'll be very, very gentle. I won't hurt Tuantuan, and you'll feel very comfortable too."

"Give it to me, my sweet baby..." He pressed his forehead against hers, his tone growing softer and softer, "Please coax me, and I won't be angry anymore."

After saying that, he bent his knees and squeezed Jiang Shiyuan's legs apart, letting her straddle him. Once they were in the right position, he lifted her up and carried her back to the bedroom.

"The study isn't good, the table is too hard." He carried her step by step through the corridor, feeling Jiang Shiyuan gradually give up struggling, and a sense of satisfaction welled up in his heart again. "Our good baby needs to be comfortable tonight, okay? I'll be your toy, you can play with me however you want."

In the end, he kept asking and slowly caressing her, afraid of tiring her out and hurting the baby in her womb. After quenching his thirst, he stopped bothering her.

"Shiyuan, it's so quiet here." The bedroom window wasn't completely closed, and you could almost feel the damp sea breeze and the sound of the tides rising and falling. "Here, I'm not afraid you'll run away again, and I don't have to worry about anyone taking you from me."

Huo Lan gradually relaxed and fell asleep, but Jiang Shiyuan's movement of leaving his embrace still woke him up instantly.

He quickly opened his eyes and saw Jiang Shiyuan running out of the bedroom in her bathrobe.

He rushed over without even putting on his shoes, only to find Jiang Shiyuan already sitting on the railing of the second-floor corridor, with a spacious living room below, more than three meters high.

"Huo Lan, do you know how I made Xie Shuning let me go when he tried to force himself on me that year? It's not just you who hurts yourself, I do too."

Jiang Shiyuan touched her lower abdomen, feeling somewhat reluctant, but then her expression turned utterly cold. "It was from upstairs, a leap."

Huo Lan couldn't even hold onto the hem of her clothes, and watched as she plummeted downwards like a butterfly with broken wings...
