Chapter 2: Late Return 2

Chapter 2: Late Return 2

I don’t know how I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was dawn outside the window.

Fu Yin's eyelids felt sore, perhaps because he had cried, and his eye bags were extremely swollen.

She slowly got up from the bed, put on her slippers and walked straight to the window, pulled open the curtains and pushed the window open.

It had been raining lightly last night, and the air was filled with a damp smell. She took a deep breath and looked up at the gray sky, thinking back to what happened at the party yesterday.

The recording was only half complete, which was not enough to prove that Luo had embezzled state funds. She had to find other ways to obtain evidence.

Fu Yinqing closed his eyes, breathed in the fresh air outside, and was already thinking of a strategy in his head.

I stood by the window for a long time, watching the sky outside slowly turn from gray to bright, and the sun slowly rise from the east.

There was a knock on the door, and the nurse came in with a medicine cart. Seeing that Fu Yin was awake, she smiled and asked, "Do you feel better now that you're awake?"

The nurse spoke gently as she took the medicine from the medicine cart and handed her a cup of hot water: "Take this medicine after you wash up. You must take it on an empty stomach."

"Can I be discharged from the hospital?" Fu Yin turned around slowly, blinked his eyelashes slightly, and asked in a low voice while his eyes fell on her.

The nurse frowned slightly and shook her head in embarrassment: "Your boyfriend told me yesterday that you can't be discharged unless the doctor says so."

"He is not my boyfriend, I don't know him." Fu Yin subconsciously defended himself.

At this moment, the sound of a man's footsteps reached her ears, and a dark gray figure vaguely appeared in her peripheral vision.

Her heart trembled and she deliberately avoided his sight.

"Really? But he looked so anxious yesterday..."

Before the nurse could finish her words, the man's cold voice interrupted her: "Yin Yin."

The air suddenly froze. Seeing this, the nurse immediately put down the medicine and pushed the medicine cart out of the ward, leaving only two people standing by the bed, one in front and one behind.

Fu Yin turned around, with his back to Lin Xu, and did not respond to his shouts at all.

If you really cared about her, why did you leave in such a hurry?

Why come back after leaving?

Just like back then, there was no explanation, and no intention of explaining.

Did he think that he had no temper and could ignore her emotions just because she liked him?

Fu Yin was shouting in his heart, but he didn't say anything in the end.

If there is no answer to the question you wanted to ask five years ago and you come back five years later, then there is no point.

"Mom asked when you'd be home. She missed you."

Lin Xu took a few steps forward, put the breakfast he brought on the table, raised his hand slightly to touch her, but hesitated the moment he raised his hand.

He took two steps back to keep his distance, his voice still gentle, just like the big brother who doted on him five years ago: "I asked the doctor, you can be discharged this afternoon, I'll take you home."

"I have to go back to the TV station this afternoon. I don't have time to go back during this period. I won't attend your wedding."

Fu Yin had been paying attention to his movements out of the corner of her eye. Seeing that he seemed to be hesitant to speak and was intentionally keeping a distance from her, she felt a chill in her heart.

"Then when are you free? At least come home for dinner."

Lin Xu frowned slightly, and when he saw her red and swollen eyes, he clenched his fists inadvertently, his expression full of heartache.

"I don't have time, please ask my brother to say hello to my sister-in-law for me."

Although she was kicked out, she would never forget the kindness of being raised over the years, nor would she lose her manners.

Lin Xu's thin lips tightened, and he suddenly chuckled: "Yin Yin, after five years of not seeing you, are you so alienated from me?"

It could be heard that he wanted to ease the atmosphere, but Fu Yin didn't want to give him face and said coldly: "The Lin family taught me to be polite to elders."

Fu Yin walked around him to wash up. After coming out, he swallowed the medicine and drank the water in the cup.

She didn't deliberately chase Lin Xu away, but sat on the bed, took off her shoes and climbed back up.

She leaned against the pillow, her face pale, staring at Lin Xu's busy back. The young man who used to be so handsome and cheerful has now become a mature and steady leader in the venture capital industry. It turns out that time really flies so fast.

"Xian Ji Sheng Jian Bao (Fried Buns) and hot milk."

Lin Xu opened the lunch box and placed it on the bedside table. He had covered the milk all the way here, fearing that she would not like it if it got cold.

He rolled up his sleeves, lowered his head and carefully peeled the tea eggs and placed them in the food box. In the thermos was the millet porridge that had just been cooked that morning.

"I have something to do at the company, so I'll be leaving soon."

"Have you changed your phone number? I couldn't get through to you this morning."

Lin Xu's gentle voice echoed in the silent ward. Fu Yin's face was very pale. She had just blocked him yesterday.

I didn't think about contacting her for five years, but now that I'm back, I know I should contact her.

Fu Yin felt a slight sourness in her nose. She turned her head and saw the breakfast on the table. It still tasted like her favorite. Her heart felt like it was hit by something and it ached in waves.

Recalling that when she was a student, she would follow him around and call him brother, and she could get what she wanted by acting coquettishly. She thought it would be the same this time.

Just act coquettishly and you can get him.

wishful thinking.

Lin Xu left and the ward returned to peace.

Fu Yin still ate breakfast. He couldn't let himself starve to death.

At noon, Fu Yin received a call from the TV station, got up, packed his things, changed his clothes, and went through the discharge procedures.

I took a taxi from the hospital back to the TV station.

Fu Yin took the elevator back to the Finance Group. She walked hurriedly and everyone in the group surrounded her when they saw her coming back.

"Sister Fu Yin, something big has happened!"

"Luo Shengkun sued us, claiming we broke into a private dinner and stole trade secrets. He even sent us a court subpoena!"

The person who spoke was Jiang Tao, who usually went with her on outings, but he didn't go to yesterday's banquet.

Fu Yin's eyes darkened slightly. She had expected that Luo Shengkun would not let her go easily, but she did not expect it would come so soon.

"I know, I can handle it."

"The people above are furious when they find out about this. They're all waiting for you in the conference room. This is really bad."

Jiang Tao sighed deeply and couldn't help but worry for her.

Fu Yin pursed her lips, her face remaining calm and composed. "Okay, I'm not worried at all, so don't worry too."

"Go back and do your job. I'll take care of it."

Fu Yin comforted the other members of the group and quickly walked towards the meeting room.

In the conference room, the general manager and deputy general manager of the TV station, including the director of the financial channel, were all present.

When she opened the door, several people looked at her.

Fu Yin felt the pressure coming and walked straight forward in her high heels.

"Xiao Fu, please sit down."

Financial Director Lan Tian waved and called out to her.

Fu Yin nodded slightly, pulled out a chair and sat down.

"The subpoena arrived this morning. Why didn't you answer my call? The TV station is in turmoil. The internet is flooded with reports that our Global Star TV station is violating industry regulations and acting as a spy to steal trade secrets."

"Several big Vs forwarded it, it's clear they came prepared." The general manager slammed the table angrily, his face looking very ugly.

The deputy general manager beside him took his hand and said soothingly, "Boss Xu, you can't say that. We are also seeking truth from facts. That Luo Shengkun is notorious and is completely turning the tables."

"He just wants to use this incident to direct the blame towards us so that we can lose our composure."

"News must be factual, but if we ruin our own reputation, who will believe the news we publish?"

The two argued, and Lan Tian winked at her, indicating that she should admit her mistake quickly.

How could Fu Yin not see that the director was trying to protect herself, but she was worthy of what she had done and had nothing to hide.

Since Luo Shengkun wanted to go all out, it would be unkind of her to not accompany him through this drama.

"Mr. Xu, I did disguise myself as a waiter and entered the banquet. Speaking of confidential information, I did take some photos. Luo Shengkun was so angry that he issued a subpoena because he was sure I had something."

Fu Yin's eyelashes trembled slightly, and his tone was gentle but powerful, not lacking in momentum at all.

Before she came, she had already thought that Luo Shengkun would use this trick to muddy the waters. In addition, the financial weekly had previously reported on his extravagant private life, which made people wonder where he got so much money to squander?

The image of thriftiness that she had previously established online collapsed. After his defenses were broken, he secretly hired someone to teach her a lesson, which almost resulted in a loss of life.

But she was lucky. This time he embezzled public funds allocated by the state, and he could never clear himself of the charges.

"Fu Yin, what do you mean by that? You didn't really take any confidential documents from the Luo family, did you?"

"Xiao Fu, didn't I ask you to get some evidence? Why did you get yourself involved?" Lan Tian widened his eyes, and suddenly he was worried that the fire would burn himself.

Fu Yin smiled and said, "I'll execute him according to normal procedures. This evidence collection isn't over yet, and I'm not willing to let it go."

Lan Tian frowned and his expression changed instantly after hearing Fu Yin's words.

The two senior executives rubbed their chins and thought for a long time. No matter what, they had to push Fu Yin out even for the benefit of the TV station.

After coming out of the conference room, Fu Yin returned to his workstation, but before he could even sit down, Lan Tian called him to the office.

The team member was full of curiosity and quickly hugged her arm and leaned close to her ear to ask: "Sister Fu Yin, can you survive this time?"

"I survived last time, which means I'm lucky and I won't die."

"But there's still half a year left before she can be promoted..." The team member's tone was full of regret, and he felt uneasy for her.

Fu Yin laughed: "Don't worry, I will be fine."

As soon as they entered the office, Lan Tian asked her to close the door.

Lan Tian walked up to her with a smile on his face: "This matter is not that simple. I asked you to collect evidence before because I wanted to give you a chance."

"I know the situation is complicated now. It has nothing to do with you. I did it all by myself."

Fu Yin guessed what he wanted to say and spat it out in a cold tone.

Lan Tian narrowed his eyes and laughed. He leaned closer to her and slowly put his hand on her shoulder.

After a while, the man's hand gradually moved down to her waist. His voice was low and somewhat bewitching: "In fact, if you give in, I can help you suppress this matter and ensure that you will not be affected."

The author has something to say:

It’s too late, it’s too late. Help! I really got so lost in writing that I actually wrote “the sun rises from the west.” Hahahaha, I’m so stupid! (I changed it secretly!)

Small Theater:

Lin Xu: Wife, open the door, I am your husband!

Fu Yin: Who are you? I don’t know you! (ps: Who told you to make me angry?)
