Chapter 34 First Steps into the Abyss

Zheng—

The sound of the longsword being drawn rang out, and Jiang Wuyuan barely managed to stop his force, stopping just in front of Ruan Kongyin's right hand.

"Sorry, I was being a little sensitive." Realizing that he had almost hurt Ruan Kongyin, Jiang Wuyuan's eyes darkened slightly, and he quickly put Devouring Star back into the sword box.

“It’s good that you’re so vigilant, don’t take it to heart.” Seeing that Jiang Wuyuan was somewhat remorseful, Ruan Kongyin immediately comforted him, “Besides, you didn’t hurt me, your control is quite exquisite.”

Seeing that Ruan Kongyin really didn't take this matter to heart, Jiang Wuyuan nodded slowly.

"Keep the purification orb with you; we've entered the abyss's range." Ruan Kongyin took out her purification orb from her spatial ring and hung it on her waist, instructing the members of the Dawn Hunters around her.

Jiang Wuyuan also took out a ball and hung it on his body, just like Ruan Kongyin did.

"It's six o'clock in the evening now. Although it's nighttime, we don't have time to waste. We must enter the Abyss immediately to complete the mission," Ruan Kongyin said solemnly. "After completing the mission, come directly here to take the spaceship back to school. Don't linger in the Abyss."

Finally, I wish our Dawn Hunting Team a successful mission and a safe return for everyone.

In the past, the Dawn Hunting Team had suffered sacrifices before. Even though he knew that such things were inevitable, Ruan Kongyin still hoped that all his team members could live safely.

"Yes!" everyone responded in unison.

“Alright, team leaders, take your teams and set off.” Ruan Kongyin nodded to Yan Shengzi and Xi Yu. “My team members will follow me.”

Jiang Wuyuan stood up, straightened his clothes which were a little wrinkled from sleeping all the way, and followed behind Ruan Kongyin.

Outside the spaceship.

Upon entering the abyss for the first time, Jiang Wuyuan felt his heart beating faster.

Just as Jiang Wuyuan had imagined, the place was barren.

Black fog filled the air everywhere, greatly reducing visibility.

But you can still see that the land is barren, with yellow sand everywhere, and even black fog covering the sky, obscuring the sun.

Even though the purification sphere could block most of the dark power, Jiang Wuyuan still felt a little uncomfortable the moment he stepped out of the spaceship.

"Circulate your cultivation technique to keep your Qi and blood flowing to the surface of your body." Ruan Kongyin was already used to this feeling and reminded Jiang Wuyuan and another newcomer, Guo Tianming, "You must always ensure that your Qi and blood are sufficient. Don't be stingy with your stamina potions. I have prepared ten stamina potions and three healing potions for each of you in the supplies I have prepared."

This is the amount that Ruan Kongyin prepared based on the approximate difficulty of the task.

Although he wouldn't take on difficult missions because he needed to mentor new recruits, as one of the top five hunting teams in the Battle Heaven Academy, the missions he accepted wouldn't be easy either.

To ensure everyone's safety to the greatest extent possible, he prepared very generous supplies for the newlyweds.

Jiang Wuyuan activated the Qiankun Technique and quickly eliminated the discomfort.

The Qiankun Technique is a high-level technique that even the bracelet cannot detect. The consumption of isolating the dark aura is less than the amount of blood and qi absorbed after it is activated.

Guo Tianming didn't have such good conditions, but as a genius, he adapted quickly.

"Alright, let's go." Seeing that the two had adjusted their state, Ruan Kongyin ordered, "Those who don't have the means to fly, find someone to take them. Let's get going as quickly as possible."

"yes!"

Jiang Wuyuan summoned his flying sword, leaped up, and landed behind Ruan Kongyin.

Qin Tianan's eyes flickered slightly when he saw Jiang Wuyuan's actions.

I didn't expect this kid to have some skills.

Qin Tianan gave a noncommittal snort, waved his staff, and summoned an ethereal crane.

Cranes are not true living beings; their feathers are even somewhat transparent. Yet, they stand tall and proud, exuding an ethereal aura that is quite beautiful.

Seeing that her teammates were ready, Ruan Kongyin took the lead and flew out.

The others followed closely behind.

"Our mission this time is to clear a small patch of dark sludge, including the magical beasts nearby that have been corrupted by dark power," Ruan Kongyin said as she led the group along the way. "According to clues provided by the military, traces of low-level alien races were left in the vicinity, so we must be careful and not fall behind."

Are they from another race?

A dark glint flashed in Jiang Wuyuan's eyes.

"There's a monster!"

Ruan Kongyin gave a stern reminder.

Jiang Wuyuan also sensed the aura eroded by the dark power, which made the magical beast more frenzied and even irrational than in its normal state.

This is one of the reasons why the abyss is dangerous.

Any monster that has been completely corrupted by the power of darkness will become a mindless killing machine. As long as any creature passes through their territory, a fierce battle will inevitably break out.

Although he sensed it, Jiang Wuyuan did not rush to make a move.

When he's out and about, he can't reveal his strength too quickly.

Moreover, with so many exceptional individuals present, it wasn't his turn to make a move.

So Jiang Wuyuan started paddling around without any qualms.

Qin Tian'an, standing atop a crane, moved with surprising speed. A flash of purple light appeared at the tip of his staff, and rolling lightning struck down, directly hitting the demonic beast in the yellow sand.

"Hiss—" The Crimson Sand Scorpion roared. Although the violent lightning struck it, its hard exoskeleton prevented it from dying immediately.

Qin Tianan's expression darkened.

He had intended to show off his strength to the newcomers, but he underestimated how tough Red Sand Scorpion was.

"Thunder Arrow!"

Feeling his pride wounded, Qin Tianan no longer held back. A sharp arrow formed from terrifying lightning pierced the sky and stabbed straight at the Crimson Sand Scorpion's enormous head.
