It was not difficult to announce this matter. Moreover, after the three great Zen masters sent Chen Kuang to the Zen room, they instructed the monks to handle this matter, and the process had been completed long ago.
Today is actually just a formality to announce the great Zen master's decision.
Chen Kuang was led by Xiuzhu to the square in front of the main hall of the Galan Temple.
The Mahavira Hall is the main hall of the temple where the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha is enshrined. It covers an area of one thousand acres. The Buddha statue enshrined in the temple is so large that it is almost terrifying. If you look up, it is even difficult to see its entire appearance.
Even with its kind and downcast eyes, the huge Buddha statue exudes a terrifying sense of oppression, which makes one's heart beat faster, feel fear, and dare not look directly at it.
Anything that can be presided over in the Main Hall must be a major event in the entire Pure Land. Since the establishment of the Galan Temple, there have been less than one hand’s worth of such events.
However, since it is the reincarnation of Buddha, it naturally needs to be witnessed by the Buddha, so the location is set in the square in front of the main hall to show importance and respect.
At this moment, nearly a thousand monks had gathered in the square.
Among them were not only the Zhengzhu disciples of Galan Temple, but also disciples from other temples who came to watch the ceremony.
Although the Pure Land is dominated by the Galan Temple, the disciples of other temples are also quite powerful. However, those who are qualified to come and watch the ceremony must be the most outstanding ones.
They received the notice yesterday and immediately rushed to the Galan Temple to witness the return of the third Buddhist disciple of this generation, not daring to be negligent at all.
After all, this is a major event for the entire Pure Land.
And they also want to see what kind of person is the reincarnation of the "Lion Heart", the Buddhist disciple who once dominated the world and was hailed as the one with the greatest possibility of achieving enlightenment?
All the gazes, whether scrutinizing or curious, finally fell on the moon-white monk robe that followed Xiuzhu.
Then, the moment they saw the long black hair, they all became shocked and confused.
Chen Kuang narrowed his eyes and glanced at the group of bald heads meditating in front of him, but what he was thinking in his heart was whether the three demons would come out of the meditation room.
Judging from Xiuzhu's words, although they occupied the bodies of three great Zen masters, there should also be great side effects.
Their spiritual consciousness can no longer leave the meditation room, and just maintaining the appearance of their physical bodies is already the limit.
In fact, Chen Kuang even had some doubts... The reason why he could see the true appearance of the three demons that day might not be due to his passive "Seeing Through Fire".
Instead, they deliberately revealed their original forms in order to test Chen Kuang's reaction.
If Chen Kuang showed signs of shock, he might not be able to leave the meditation room.
If these three demons don't come out of the meditation room even in such a situation, it means that their condition is worse than imagined, and Chen Kuang's strategy must change accordingly.
But unfortunately, the three highly respected Zen masters finally walked out slowly with the support of three little monks.
"Snap! Snap!"
The rotten blood holes on both sides of the leader's head were still dripping with sticky black blood, and many unidentified objects were wriggling in them.
There seemed to be more countless tiny pale arms extending from the missing eye sockets.
And without a mouth, Bu Yan seemed too normal...but his eyes, which were always kind and smiling, were like an abyss, impenetrable.
Just like that, under the watchful eyes of everyone, the three of them walked step by step to the front of the hall.
Chen Kuang tried his best not to look at the dirty bloodstains on the ground, but the scene before him was so devastating that it destroyed his sanity.
The sun was shining brightly in the square. A group of monks gathered under the golden statue of Buddha with pious faces. Incense smoke curled up, and it was extremely sacred. However, the three monks leading the group looked horrible, neither human nor ghost.
Chen Kuang took a deep breath and walked to the side of the three great Zen masters.
The Zen Master Buwen sighed and said:
"Forty years ago, Lionheart, the Buddhist disciple with the greatest potential to achieve the fourth stage of sainthood, went out for training and disappeared. This is a pity for the entire Pure Land."
"For the past forty years, I have repeatedly sent people to retrieve the Lionheart Relic, but to no avail."
"But fortunately, Lionheart had a deep affinity with Buddhism, and forty years later, he returned to the Pure Land with his wisdom. This is truly a blessing for our Buddhist community."
Bu Wen walked up to Chen Kuang and patted his shoulder.
“Snap!”
A pool of pus and blood was dripping in front of Chen Kuang's feet, and countless maggots in it suddenly rolled around, as if boiling.
Chen Kuang maintained a faint smile and said, "Master, you are so kind. It is my honor to receive the wisdom of Senior Lionheart."
Bu Wen laughed:
"Humility and self-control are also your wisdom."
"Since that's the case, since you haven't yet taken the tonsure and don't have a Dharma name of your own, it wouldn't be appropriate to use a secular name within the Pure Land. For now, you'll inherit the Dharma name 'Lionheart' and choose another one when you're ordained."
What else could Chen Kuang say? He could only put his hands together:
"Thank you, Zen Master."
Bu Wen nodded with satisfaction, looked at the thousands of monks, and said:
"Today, another disciple of the Pure Land Buddha has been born. The Buddha is delighted. Disciples from all temples should suspend their studies for seven days to rejoice and praise him. Within the Pure Land, vegetarian feasts should not be interrupted. Monks and laymen alike, all congratulate the Buddha's disciple."
When these words were spoken, the monks below were stunned.
Because in the past, inviting back Buddhist disciples was not so extravagant. At most, the Galan Temple would hold a vegetarian banquet for one day to celebrate.
And now, Kanbuwen actually wants the entire Pure Land to hold a banquet for seven whole days!
During these seven days, the daily chanting of scriptures must be stopped... This is simply unheard of and can be called indulgence!
