Chen Kuang naturally expected Xiuxin to try to unite with Xiuzhu.
With Chen Kuang's current reputation in the Pure Land, his discussion with Xiuzhu on the cultivation of mind and nature will soon spread throughout the entire Galan Temple.
Naturally, it will also reach Xiuxin's ears.
The different opinions between the two were also intentional by Chen Kuang... However, in fact, the one who debated with him that day was not that evil second personality, but Xiuzhu himself.
The young monk's understanding and wisdom can truly be called innate Buddha nature. Chen Kuang originally wanted to discuss with the second personality and then use the verses of Shenxiu and Huineng to shock the monks of the Galan Temple and achieve his own goal.
Unexpectedly, Chen Kuang only gave him a little guidance, and Xiuzhu immediately came up with a similar idea on his own.
This saved Chen Kuang a lot of effort.
The body is a bodhi tree, the mind is like a bright mirror. Wipe it frequently to avoid any dust.
There is no Bodhi tree, nor is there a mirror stand. Originally, there is nothing, so where can there be any dust?
These two sentences were both said by eminent monks. Chen Kuang did not think that either was right or wrong, but the realm of the latter was obviously much higher, and it was already the difference between Hinayana and Mahayana.
The former is only focused on self-cultivation, while the latter regards itself as nothing, with no barriers between itself and all things in nature, and even merges into one. This is a true great compassion and great mercy.
However, in Cangyuan, the Pure Land has not yet been subdivided in this way.
Because there really is a Buddha in this world, and one can truly become a Buddha...
Therefore, the philosophy of most monks is that they must first complete their own practice, possess great supernatural powers and great wisdom, and then they can save all living beings.
It is actually difficult to tell which of these two sentences is better.
Chen Kuang's purpose was not to become famous through this - he was already famous enough by becoming a Buddhist disciple in such a high-profile way by practicing Buddhism with his hair uncut.
His real purpose was to make Xiuxin realize that he was in cahoots with those three demons.
And at the same time, it hinted to him what these three demons were thinking.
Chen Kuang was brought back with the strong support of three great Zen masters. To a large extent, his thoughts can represent what the three great Zen masters are thinking at the moment.
What's more, after the Zen discussion ended that day, everyone in the Galan Temple knew that the three great Zen masters highly appreciated Chen Kuang's views, and criticized Xiuzhu's ideas as being too idealistic, selfish and arrogant.
But as a Buddhist, Xiuxin naturally understood the true meaning immediately.
What Chen Kuang explained was actually what happened in the Pure Land during this period of time.
Why was there a sudden seven-day extravagant feast to allow the monks to escape from worldly thoughts?
It is definitely not the three great Zen masters who openly took the lead in breaking the rules, causing the monks to break the precepts and disturb their Buddhist hearts!
Why is that?
Chen Kuang said in this discussion on Zen that one must refine the mind in the world and complete the cleansing of the soul in order to reach a higher level of realm!
When Chen Kuang was discussing Zen at that time, he still used the example of Lion Heart.
Look, the Buddha's Lion Heart, the Xuanxuan Realm, the semi-saint who is about to enter the realm of enlightenment, his understanding is high enough, right? Is his realm strong enough?
As a result, once he entered the mortal world, he did not die at the hands of a master, but his heart was broken by a two-year-old child.
What a thought-provoking example.
Lionheart has been practicing in the Pure Land since he was a child, and he underestimated the ugliness and turbidity of people's hearts in the secular world, which led to the tragedy.
Nowadays, the Pure Land is closed most of the time and isolated from the outside world. Although all the monks are bathed in the pure Buddha light, they have the deepest understanding of Buddhism.
But if you have never entered the world of mortals, you naturally cannot empathize with all living beings, so how can you save all living beings?
Once you come into contact with this corrupt world, you will probably be the first to be polluted.
Therefore, the three great Zen masters who had already seen this decided to test the Pure Land disciples by letting them "temper their minds in the worldly affairs."
Now this seven-day vegetarian banquet is just a small test.
Those monks who broke their vows afterwards were actually not sincere enough in their devotion to Buddhism and their character was insufficient, so they were defeated by this small test and immediately became captives of desire.
This just proves that the great Zen master's actions were correct and full of wisdom!
The three great Zen masters naturally accepted this explanation.
For a moment, the monks, who had already aroused some dissatisfaction and suspicion, suddenly realized and understood the great Zen master's good intentions.
It turns out that the great Zen master was testing us!
However, with Xiuxin's intelligence, how could she not know the danger involved?
If this is just the beginning...the entire Pure Land will only become more and more indulgent, and this will happen with the connivance of the great Zen master.
This is a terrible thing.
It is euphemistically called a test, but if there are no external rules to restrain those monks whose practice is not yet complete, it will definitely turn into a disaster in the end.
Law means rules.
Restraining oneself and admonishing desires are exactly what Buddhism requires. Practice requires not only inner yearning, but also external guidance.
If left unchecked, the consequences will be disastrous.
Even after entering the secular world, there are still secular rules that restrict the behavior of wandering monks.
But the Pure Land is different.
The Pure Land is a place with few secular rules, and all constraints are based on the Dharma.
Now, once you do something that goes against Buddhism, it means everything is out of control.
Xiuxin thought that there was no reason for the three great Zen masters not to know this, but why did they still do this?
Infinite doubts naturally arose in his heart.
this……
This is basically shaking the foundation of the entire Pure Land!
Therefore, Xiuxin was so anxious to find Xiuzhu, a person whose ideas coincided with his own but were completely different from those of Chen Kuang and the great Zen master, and to form an alliance with him.
After listening to Xiuxin's thoughts, Xiuzhu nodded and smiled:
"I see. I understand."
Xiu Xin quickly said, "Junior Brother Xiu Zhu, you are the most intelligent person in the past hundred years. You naturally understand the horror of this. At this point, the only ones who can oppose the three great Zen masters are you and me."
Xiuzhu nodded again: "I know, what are you going to do, brother?"
Xiuxin pursed her lips, as if she had made up her mind, and said:
"Let's go find the great Zen master and tell him that this is absolutely not feasible!"
Xiuzhu stared at him for a while, then shook his head: "No."
Xiu Xin was stunned and said, "Junior brother, you don't dare? It doesn't matter. When the time comes, just say it was my idea. The great Zen Master has always doted on you and will definitely not blame you..."
"I mean."
Xiuzhu laughed and said, "How can we, with our eloquence, persuade three great Zen masters with profound Buddhist teachings? If they insist on doing what they want, how can we help them alone?"
Xiuxin suddenly had a bad feeling: "So what do you mean?"
Xiuzhu said leisurely, "If the three great Zen masters suddenly pass away, the Pure Land will naturally be decided by you and me."
