Chapter 0 Ending Remarks
As of today, this book is finally finished. Looking back on the three months of continuous updating, I basically updated 6,000 words a day in the last two months without stopping. I took three days off during the entire updating process, and twice I still updated two to three thousand words. It’s a bit incredible that I could persist.
This book ends here, which may not please some readers, as I still haven't filled in the gaps surrounding the temple, authority, and confrontation. I'd like to explain that this worldview is quite large, and I'll continue to use the same basic concepts in my upcoming novels, gradually filling in these gaps. The Spiritual Canal will also make a return appearance at that time. I believe I've fully covered the plot of this book.
Regarding this book, I've always been aware of everyone's doubts about the romance line. Frankly speaking, this book was originally planned to have no CP. However, after seeing someone on another platform criticize a book without CP, saying that the heroine was being flirted with by a supporting character, I decided to change to a romance novel because I simply couldn't tolerate such words being used on Lingqu.
I considered Shen, Gu, Yinhe, and even Guan, and even considered gender-changing Liu Zheng, but if she were to gender-change, the gender ratio of the protagonists would be really unbalanced. If Shen were to gender-change, then Shen and the eldest lady would clash.
So in the end I decided on Shen, because he has the most screen time among the male characters, and after careful consideration, I felt that Shen's personality is the most suitable for Lingqu, so I finally decided on him as the male lead.
In the early days, he was very unpopular. I saw many comments scolding him, but I don’t intend to change them or say anything on his behalf.
First of all, I am not very willing to create a perfect male protagonist in this type of article. Secondly, the character of Shen has certain flaws, and these flaws also constitute a part of his life. If this part is changed in pursuit of the perfection of the male protagonist, then he will really be like a fake person.
I've also seen some readers question why Shen Shouli wasn't allowed to achieve godhood within those ten years, worthy of Xu Lingqu. My point is, Lingqu, an already powerful An Lilithian, scoured tens of thousands of civilizations to achieve godhood, and endured 11 years of apocalypse. If Shen Shouli, an ordinary human, could easily achieve godhood within ten years, what would the effort and suffering Lingqu endured be?
I am an author who is extremely partial to my heroines. I feel guilty when people praise my group portraits. Although I don't like to criticize supporting characters, when I list the highlights, it is always xx, Lingqu, xxx, Lingqu, xxxx, and Lingqu again...
To be honest, every word I typed for this book was for my heroine Lingqu.
The only time I felt my defenses were broken while writing this book was when someone, after reading the first three chapters, started a commentary claiming that Lingqu was Xu Chengbi's mistress. That time, I was so upset that I wanted to quit writing the book, but then I realized I couldn't let down the normal readers, so I deleted all of that person's comments and revised the copy, specifically noting that anyone who spreads obscene rumors about the heroine will be blocked and deleted.
Some readers may still remember my copy. I changed it later when I saw that no strange people appeared.
Regarding the name of the Lingqu Canal, I've previously explained why it was given this name: "Born for war, existing for the people's livelihood." I'd like to add that I'm fascinated by ancient Chinese water conservancy projects. I've always felt that these water conservancy structures embody the philosophy of "man conquering nature." Therefore, I initially sought the name of the heroine among these water conservancy projects, ultimately settling on the Lingqu Canal.
In addition, Liu Zheng's name was also carefully considered. Her name comes from the saying, "Flowing (Liu) water does not compete for the lead, but what competes (Zheng) is the endless flow."
Xizhen was originally going to be called Xizhen. In my eyes, Meibao is a dazzling gem, forever radiating pure beauty. It was later misspelled as Xizhen, but I think this name is good, so I've kept it.
There is also a little easter egg which is why the Moye Military Academy is called this name. Because Moye and Gan Jiang are originally two swords, but here we only talk about Moye, but there are two swords on the school emblem, which is actually Yinhe’s hint of another hidden world, Earth.
Having written this, I am really grateful to every reader who has the patience to read this far. As a new author, the creation process of my first book was really rough. For example, I couldn’t fix the update time, and there were a lot of typos... I also saw many problems in myself, and I will try not to make these mistakes in the next book.
By the way, I’d like to give you a small preview here. The next book will be a light-hearted, abstract and cheerful novel. It will still be about popular people but the female characters will not be too strong. Interested readers can come and support it when the time comes.
