Chapter 14: Get a Good Night's Sleep
When they walked out of the simple medical tent, it was already dark. A female instructor was waiting outside the door. She took Xu Lingqu out of the woods. The two original competition platforms had been dismantled, and the instructors were distributing training uniforms and tents to the students.
During the time when Xu Lingqu fainted, several instructors supervised the students running back and forth along the river bank, doing only the most basic physical training. It was not until the sun was about to set that the instructors distributed tents and formal training uniforms.
Such simple physical training made the students feel a little at a loss. One by one, they suspected that the instructors had bad intentions. After all, they started with interstellar jumps and asked them to participate in fighting competitions. How come they suddenly became normal now?
Unfortunately, it was not until the end of the training that the students received the training uniforms and tents and accepted the reality that today's training was really over.
"I didn't expect the Moye Military Academy's training grounds to be so pristine." Xu Xizhen spotted Xu Lingqu approaching from a distance and immediately walked over. She had already changed into her formal training uniform, which was light purple, unlike the instructors' dark purple. "They actually let us stay here! I thought they'd let us go back in a stealth vehicle."
Xu Xizhen led Xu Lingqu to the tent he had already set up and asked her to change her clothes first. She draped her coat over the right side of the tent, blocking a gap.
"I heard from Instructor Chen that these tents are all damaged goods, perfect for us to use. Has Moye Military Academy really gotten this broke?" Xu Xizhen complained, watching his sister come out after changing clothes. "The lavender color suits you quite well."
"Are all of them damaged?" Xu Lingqu asked, took off Xu Xizhen's coat and looked at the holes.
"Yes." Xu Xizhen handed her dinner for tonight, two bottles of nutrient solution. "Instructor Kion just announced that today's training is over. From now on, we will have free time. I didn't expect it to be so relaxing."
Several bonfires were lit on the ground, and students, mostly boys and girls, gathered together. Without the tension from training, they chatted animatedly. With green mountains and clear waters and bonfires in line, it felt a bit like a youth documentary.
"Do the instructors also live in tents?" Xu Lingqu bit open the nutrient solution and drank it. It tasted like coconut, and he felt full quickly after drinking it.
Xu Xizhen pointed deep into the woods and said, "There seems to be a wooden house in there. They should be living there."
The two of them found a place to sit down, and as soon as they sat down, more than a dozen pairs of eyes swept over them.
After she fainted and left the stage, Xu Lingqu already had a new title - the God of War of the Command System.
According to a talkative instructor, in his ten years at Moye Military Academy, this was the first time he saw students from the command department defeat students from the combat department in a fight. There were seven of them, and they defeated them consecutively.
The students in the command department straightened their backs a lot for a moment. Who said they were a bunch of weaklings who could think well?
More than a dozen eyes flashed with admiration and curiosity, but at the same time there were also several glances mixed with malice and disdain.
Several boys from the combat direction, sandwiched between Sun Liao, gathered together and talked nonsense.
"She's just weak in the few combat directions she encountered. If I were to meet her... hmph."
"I heard she's the adopted daughter General Xu took home a while ago. Honestly, the registration process for her to enter our school doesn't even match up. Tsk tsk, isn't she relying on her family? Maybe she bribed her opponents..."
A wooden stick with sparks flew over, and several boys jumped up in panic. The one who was hit slapped the flames on his body in embarrassment.
Sun Liao was about to explode, pointed his finger forward and shouted, "You..." When he saw that the person who hit him was Wang Qihu, he suddenly became speechless.
"Is it interesting? Are you making trouble for others? If you are so arrogant, why don't you dare to challenge her on the stage in the broad day? There is a special stamp on the stage for you guys." Wang Qihu was very unhappy.
He was very upset after being defeated by Xu Lingqu in two moves. He was even more upset when he saw people slandering Xu Lingqu behind his back. Because if Xu Lingqu was devalued by them, then what kind of person would he, Wang Qihu, become?!
Wang Qihu glanced at the girl sitting not far away with lingering fear. The bonfire illuminated her, and her originally pale face became rosier. Her short hair was blown by the evening breeze, and her big, bright eyes were staring at the river.
No matter how you looked at her, she looked like a weak, frail girl, powerless. How could she have defeated him in just two moves? Wang Qihu was heartbroken.
A military whistle blew, and Instructor Chen came out of the woods again. Compared to Kion, everyone obviously liked him more because he looked much gentler.
"Curfew is over." Instructor Chen smiled and reminded everyone to go back to their tents and sleep. Most of them were military academy students and knew the rules. They put out the campfire and went back to their tents. Seeing that most people had gone into their tents, he turned around and left with a smile, "Sweet dreams."
Xu Xizhen yawned. She was tired after a busy day. Since there was no instructor to supervise her, she was just about to persuade Xu Lingqu to sleep with her, but Xu Lingqu pulled her away from the tent area.
"Sister...you will be penalized if you leave during curfew without permission." Xu Xizhen was confused, but did not shake off Xu Lingqu's hand.
"You can't sleep here." Xu Lingqu pulled her deeper into the woods. Xu Xizhen was extremely nervous. After all, she thought the instructor knew everything in the cabin in the woods. But the more they walked, the more she realized something was wrong.
There was no cabin, no instructor, where had they all gone?
"The gap in the tent looks like it was caused by vandalism, not wear and tear. The grass on the inner bank of the river is much taller than the grass in the woods, and the mud on the riverbank has the wrong viscosity." In a quiet place, Xu Lingqu explained quietly to Xu Xizhen, "If nothing unexpected happens, something will happen on the other side of the river tonight. If my guess is correct, they'll probably flood the tent area."
The most important thing is that today in that simple medical tent, Dr. Li said that she carried the things out in boxes, which means that there is a fixed medical room and it is far away from here. In addition, the tent that was distributed looked very wrong, so Xu Lingqu could basically conclude that the official trial training venue was not here, but somewhere else.
Tonight's night camp by the river is probably the third warning given to them by Instructors Kaian and Chen.
"Great minds think alike." Suddenly, a figure jumped down from the tree and appeared about two meters away from Xu Lingqu.
In the dim woods, the red hair was still so conspicuous. A branch was pressed against Jin's neck. He shouted angrily at Xu Lingqu who was pointing the branch at him: "Hey! You have a really bad temper!"
