Chapter 15: Opening the Floodgates
"You can shout a little louder, just enough to get everyone up." Xu Lingqu took the branch, turned it around in his hand, and smashed it backwards, with a scream of pain.
"I thought you didn't notice there was a tail following you." Jin laughed, revealing a fang. Xu Lingqu was more interesting than he expected.
Xu Lingqu didn't have to use much force. Tang Muwen covered his thigh, picked up the branch, and walked out from the shadows. He lowered his eyebrows and didn't dare to look Xu Lingqu in the eye. "Sorry, I'm just curious. I didn't mean to follow you..."
"Tsk, who knows whether you did it intentionally or not." Xu Lingqu didn't say anything, but Jin was the first to stand up for him. He tilted his head and shouted towards the top of a tree: "Chen Shouli, you're sitting high up, you must be able to see it..."
Before he finished speaking, another figure jumped down from the tree, Shen Shouli landed easily, patted his clothes, glanced at the other three people except Jin, and said nothing.

Shen Shouli corrected: “It was you who insisted on following me.”

Jin stood in front of her.
"Are you going to wake everyone up now?"
"Get out of the way." Xu Xizhen didn't understand why this person was trying to stop him. "When human lives are at stake, how can I not go?"
"Every one of them is our competitor now. Firstly, we don't know if tonight's event will actually happen. Secondly, this is just a test, just like warping and combat." Jin stood still, speaking seriously for once. "If you rashly wake everyone up now, it would be too easy for the instructor to come up with a temporary solution, but you'll only cause them more trouble. If nothing happens, the others will resent you for not letting them rest properly."
"Because of what you said, I should just watch them in danger without knowing it?" Xu Xizhen narrowed his eyes, and the atmosphere between the two of them suddenly became tense.
Tang Muwen then said, "Maybe we can just tell them that if they are willing to believe our letter, they can just go to sleep if they don't want to."
"That would just play into the instructors' trap." Shen Shouli also stood up at this time, "If they cancel the plan at the last minute, it would be a waste of their trust in us, and if they don't, they'll have a good night's sleep. From now on, we won't be credible to anyone."
Both sides insisted on their own opinions, and now an external force was needed to break the deadlock. Four pairs of eyes stared at Xu Lingqu, but she just turned around and continued walking into the woods.
"If tonight was a test, then our every move was within the instructors' expectations." Xu Lingqu identified the route the female instructor had taken in the darkness. "If flooding the tent was part of their plan, then they also have a means of rescue."
She remembered that there were several small wooden houses next to the temporary medical tent. After listening to what Xu Xizhen said, she originally thought that was where the instructors lived. Now thinking about it, it looked more like a storage place.
Xu Xizhen and Tang Muwen followed decisively, and Jin and Shen Shouli followed after hesitating for a moment.
"You mean to say that our current trajectory of action is within the instructors' expectations, and they think we will use things to save people?" Jin took two steps at a time and stood behind Xu Lingqu. Xu Xizhen glared at him unhappily.

Several people took the life-saving items and began to place them outside.
Suddenly there was a sound like muffled thunder.
Xu Lingqu's heart skipped a beat; they were still a step too slow: "The instructor has opened the floodgates to release the water."
