Chapter 17 Things will definitely go smoothly.

Chapter 17 Things will definitely go smoothly.

With today's filming wrapped up, Shen Yuheng decided to stay in the lab to practice his experimental procedures.

"Look at you, you don't look like a movie star at all! With your performance, who would believe you're a professionally trained actor?" What Shen Yuheng was thinking in the moment before he made a mistake during that afternoon's scene might have fooled others, but it couldn't fool Wei Yu. "You panicked just because she was there watching you?"

Judging from Shen Yuheng's performance today, Wei Yu is somewhat worried. Jiang Xinglan has too much influence on Shen Yuheng, and it can even affect his professional abilities.

However, Jiang Xinglan remained indifferent and aloof, showing no concern whatsoever for Shen Yuheng.

As soon as filming ended, he left without even saying goodbye.

Wei Yu couldn't help but feel sorry for Shen Yuheng.

“Brother Wei, I’ve prepared myself mentally for this day,” Shen Yuheng said, leaning back in his chair with a complicated expression. “But now that the moment has come, I realize it’s all been in vain.”

From the time Shen Yuheng learned that Jiang Xinglan was the research consultant to the official start of filming, it was only three or four days, and he had been looking forward to this gaze falling on him for nine years.

He had been trying to calm himself down for the past few days, but everything changed when Jiang Xinglan appeared on the scene.

Those emotions that had been suppressed all surfaced, some joyful, some apprehensive, and some worried.

"However, don't worry, Brother Wei, it won't happen again." Shen Yuheng made up his mind.

He absolutely refused to appear before Jiang Xinglan in such an unprofessional manner.

"Fine, you'd better keep your word!" Wei Yu said, "Otherwise..."

Wei Yu had originally planned to say something to "threaten" Shen Yuheng, but he suddenly remembered that Shen Yuheng was now the boss, his direct superior...

Wei Yu quickly changed his tone and said sullenly, "I believe in you, good luck! I'll go back to the studio first and come pick you up later."

"Okay, sure." After Wei Yu left, Shen Yuheng looked through tomorrow's shooting schedule, intending to briefly review the experiments involved.

The first is to transfer cell suspension.

---

When Jiang Xinglan arrived at the front of the laboratory building, there were still a few staff members doing the final tidying up.

Following her memory, Jiang Xinglan walked to the laboratory where the filming was being conducted.

The door is open.

Although Jiang Xinglan did not see anyone, the lit lights, the sterilizing laminar flow table, and the humming sound of the laminar flow table fan all proved that someone was indeed present.

Jiang Xinglan slowed her steps and leaned inside for a glance.

I saw Shen Yuheng wearing a lab coat, intently using a pipette to transfer cell suspension into a new culture medium.

However, he frowned, as if troubled by something, and put down the pipette to look through his notes.

Jiang Xinglan coughed lightly.

Hearing the noise, Shen Yuheng looked up.

He had no idea he would see Jiang Xinglan.

Shen Yuheng's eyes widened slightly. After realizing what was happening, he immediately stood up, so fast that he almost overturned the chair behind him.

"Can we come in?" Jiang Xinglan asked.

"Of course!" Shen Yuheng nodded hurriedly and walked over.

Having received permission, Jiang Xinglan then turned her gaze to the lab coats hanging on the wall, seemingly judging their cleanliness level.

Shen Yuheng knew that Jiang Xinglan had a slight obsession with cleanliness when it came to lab coats, so he spoke up, "These lab coats were washed by someone, but I haven't worn them yet. If Professor Jiang doesn't mind..."

“That’s serious,” Jiang Xinglan said, casually picking up a lab coat and putting it on. “But Professor Shen’s idea is good. Preparing several lab coats is good for dealing with emergencies.”

“To avoid taking the wrong one, we usually write our names on our chests,” Jiang Xinglan glanced at Shen Yuheng’s chest pocket. “What do you think, Lin Yuan?”

“Okay, I’ll write it down in a bit,” Shen Yuheng nodded.

At this moment, Shen Yuheng truly felt like a complete novice entering the laboratory, while the person in front of him was a senior female student sent by his supervisor to help him familiarize himself with the lab.

Jiang Xinglan first went to the laminar flow hood, turned off the fan, and said to Shen Yuheng, who was following closely behind, "There is no need to turn on the fan when the laminar flow hood is performing ultraviolet sterilization."

"good."

The two arrived at the place where Shen Yuheng had just been operating, and Shen Yuheng was taking notes in his notebook about the key points of operating the clean bench that Jiang Xinglan had just mentioned.

Suddenly, a very faint scent of cedar wafted to my nose, refreshing and delightful.

Shen Yuheng looked up from his notebook and onto Jiang Xinglan, who had already found a stool and sat down next to him.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Xinglan asked.

"No, it's nothing." After saying that, Shen Yuheng quickly lowered his head, pretending to take notes to hide his panic.

He felt that if Jiang Xinglan sat any closer, she could even hear his heartbeat.

At this moment, Shen Yuheng completely forgot what he had promised Wei Yu half an hour earlier.

"Do it again for me to see," Jiang Xinglan said, seeing that he had almost remembered it.

"Oh, okay."

Shen Yuheng glanced at the things on the lab bench and quickly sorted out his thoughts.

First, I picked up the pipette, clumsily knocked off the tip, replaced it with a new one, and then redid it according to my own understanding.

Then, maintaining his grip on the pipette, he looked at Jiang Xinglan with some trepidation, awaiting her evaluation.

"Alright, put the pipette down." Although Jiang Xinglan's tone was calm, Shen Yuheng still felt a little pressured.

"It seems our classmate Shen wasn't paying attention in class." Jiang Xinglan rarely cracked a joke, easing the somewhat serious atmosphere.

Upon hearing this, Shen Yuheng touched his ear, feeling somewhat embarrassed.

Jiang Xinglan did not notice Shen Yuheng's subtle movements.

Her gaze fell on the pipette casually placed on the table. "Can a pipette be placed horizontally on the lab bench? Especially with the tip attached."

Almost as soon as Jiang Xinglan opened her mouth, Shen Yuheng realized his mistake. He quickly picked up the pipette, removed the tip, and hung it on the pipette rack.

"I'm sorry, it was my oversight." Shen Yuheng's tone was full of apology.

"The reason why pipettes can be so precise is because of their intricate internal structure. If placed horizontally, liquid can easily flow back into the pipette, thereby damaging the instrument."

After explaining, Jiang Xinglan comforted her, "However, everyone forgets this when they first enter the lab. Just pay more attention in the future."

"Did Teacher Jiang also make such oversights at the beginning?" Shen Yuheng asked without thinking.

Only after saying it did I realize that my words seemed somewhat inappropriate, and I wanted to say something to remedy the situation.

Jiang Xinglan nodded calmly, "Of course, it's really convenient to just put it anywhere, isn't it?"

"So how was it changed later?" Shen Yuheng scrutinized her expression and pressed for an answer.

He really wanted to know more about her.

Jiang Xinglan glanced at him but didn't answer. Instead, she picked up the pipette she had just used and asked, "Do you know how many settings a pipette has?"

Two gears.

"So, in your opinion, what are the characteristics of a culture medium as a liquid?"

Shen Yuheng thought for a moment, "It's quite thick, has poor fluidity, and high viscosity."

"Hmm, that's right," Jiang Xinglan said, replacing the pipette tip with a new one. "So, what do you think we should do when aspirating this kind of liquid?"

“Reverse pipetting,” Shen Yuheng blurted out.

“It seems I’ve wronged you,” Jiang Xinglan laughed. “Being able to say reverse pipetting off the top of your head doesn’t mean you weren’t paying attention in class.”

"Key points of reverse pipetting." Before Shen Yuheng could reply, she immediately asked the next question.

Before Shen Yuheng could even feel the joy in his heart, he was caught off guard by Jiang Xinglan's question.

But he quickly realized what was happening and began to recall what he had written in his notebook, replying, "While ensuring the nozzle is tightly sealed, use the second setting for aspiration and the first setting for drainage, maintaining a slow and steady motion throughout."

"If multiple pipetting is required, after the first drainage, hold the tube in place and aspirate the fluid again."

For every sentence Shen Yuheng spoke, Jiang Xinglan did the following step.

After demonstrating the entire process, Jiang Xinglan removed the gun barrel. "That's the general procedure. Is there anything you don't understand?"

"there is none left."

Jiang Xinglan handed the pipette to Shen Yuheng, "Shall we try again?"

Shen Yuheng grasped the lower half of the pipette handle.

Jiang Xinglan loosened her grip, and Shen Yuheng tightened his grip, taking the pipette from her.

Although there was no physical contact, Shen Yuheng still felt his heart was about to jump out of his chest.

Shen Yuheng composed himself and, under Jiang Xinglan's watchful gaze, completed the operation once again.

"Hmm, much better this time, you're starting to look like a researcher," Jiang Xinglan praised.

"Thank you, Teacher Jiang." Shen Yuheng's eyes sparkled, shining brightly.

"Is there anything else you need to practice?" Jiang Xinglan asked.

“Yes, there are still some,” Shen Yuheng said truthfully. “Is Teacher Jiang going to… come with me?”

I thought you needed me to stay here.

Jiang Xinglan's words made Shen Yuheng's heart race again.

"I really want you by my side," Shen Yuheng thought to himself, "No, no, what do you mean by 'I thought'?"

Just as he was about to lose his mind, Shen Yuheng came to his senses and asked, "What do you mean?"

"Weren't you a little nervous during today's shoot because I was there?" Jiang Xinglan said matter-of-factly. "But that's normal. It's natural to feel that way when facing professionals."

Shen Yuheng's active and somewhat frantic heart was struck by these words as if by a heavy hammer, and he fell to the ground with a thud.

He lowered his eyes, which were filled with an indescribable loneliness.

"However, I will be on set frequently, and in order not to affect the filming schedule, I feel it is necessary for me to help you get used to my presence in advance."

Shen Yuheng thought about it and wondered if these words meant that he and she would have more time to spend together.

Even time spent alone together.

A secret joy welled up in Shen Yuheng's heart.

"Okay! Thank you, Teacher Jiang!"

He didn't need to get used to Jiang Xinglan frequently appearing around him.

What he really needed to do was to get Jiang Xinglan used to his presence around her.

When Wei Yu came to pick up Shen Yuheng, he saw the two of them walking out of the laboratory building side by side.

From a distance, the atmosphere seemed quite good; at least Shen Yuheng was chatting and laughing.

Wei Yu was somewhat surprised, "What's going on!"

"I don't know," Assistant Chen shrugged. "Brother Chen said he wanted to practice on his own, so he kicked me off the stage. Later, Teacher Jiang came, and I went up on stage."

"He told you to come down, so you came down?" Wei Yu scolded. "What if someone sneaks in? Next time something like this happens, just stay a little further away."

"You need a pass to get in and out of here, it's not that easy to sneak in!" Shen Yuheng said with a smile as he walked over.

"Wow, you're so refreshing!" Wei Yu teased. "What, I've only been gone a short while, and you've already made progress?"

"I guess so," Shen Yuheng thought for a moment, "It's like getting a temporary pass."

"Really?" Wei Yu asked skeptically. "You're not just wishful thinking, are you?"

Just then, Jiang Xinglan's car passed by.

Wei Yu watched as she slowed down, rolled down the window, and nodded slightly to Shen Yuheng.

Only after receiving a response from Shen Yuheng did he roll up the car window and drive away.

Wei Yu stroked his chin, watching the car disappear into the night, lost in thought.

He nudged Shen Yuheng, who was standing beside him, with his elbow. "This is a major breakthrough for you, isn't it? I'm a grown man, standing here, and she sees me as if I'm invisible."

"No way, didn't she just nod to you?" Mingming could barely suppress her smile, but she still stubbornly insisted.

"Was that a greeting to me?" Wei Yu said irritably.

“She was going past me to greet you.” Wei Yu emphasized the word “you”.

"Ahem," Shen Yuheng coughed a few times, leaving behind the words "I see through it but I won't say it!" before getting into the car.

"You're the kind of person who gets the benefits and then acts innocent!" Wei Yu rebuked.

Shen Yuheng didn't reply. After getting into the car, he leaned back in his seat, looking much more relaxed.

The smile in the corner of his eye revealed his inner joy at that moment.

Shen Yuheng took out his phone, took a picture of his temporary pass, erased the important information, and then posted it as an update.

[Shen Yuheng V: Temporary pass, GET! #StarTrailFragments#]

[@珩星星球: Thanks for the hard work filming!]

Shen Yuheng refreshed the page, looking at the comments and replies from his fans.

Even after seeing some extreme comments, Shen Yuheng couldn't help but sigh, "Hengxing fans are really good people!"

Sitting next to him, Wei Yu chimed in, "Your fans are really considerate. Because this time the filming was done near the research institute, several fans who always follow the filming said they wouldn't be staking out the area this time."

He was well aware of what Wei Yu was saying.

He recalled that at the beginning of the year, even though the list of performers for the New Year's Eve gala had been finalized, they hadn't made a big fuss about it.

It wasn't until after the show aired that she began to release this long-suppressed joy.

I am so fortunate to have such a lovely group of fans.

But all I can do is focus more on playing each role well, so as not to let them down.

---

The following days of filming did not proceed as Director Liu had initially anticipated—that Jiang Xinglan would frequently stop the filming to fix experimental details, causing delays in the schedule.

On the contrary, everything went exceptionally smoothly, and Jiang Xinglan's high standards did not affect the filming schedule.

This actually helped to gradually bring the atmosphere of the entire filming set closer to that of a real laboratory.

With this academic atmosphere, it became relatively easier for the actors to get into character.

Especially Shen Yuheng, several times Director Liu would have a moment of disbelief, thinking that the person appearing on the monitor was the real Lin Yuan.

Therefore, Director Liu found Jiang Xinglan around noon on Sunday.

"Teacher Jiang, thank you so much for your guidance these past few days. Thanks to you, the filming progress has been much faster."

"My presence here is merely to oversee the details; the real credit goes to Director Liu and the entire cast," Jiang Xinglan said politely.

“Teacher Jiang, there’s no need to decline. You have indeed made a great contribution,” Director Liu said, looking at the shooting schedule in his hand. “It just so happens that today is the weekend, and there is only one scene this afternoon that has nothing to do with the laboratory. Teacher Jiang can leave work early and go home to get some rest. Next week’s shooting schedule will not be easy.”

Since Director Liu had put it that way, Jiang Xinglan couldn't refuse. "Then I'll accept the crew's kindness. If there are any changes, please let me know immediately."

“Okay,” Director Liu said cheerfully. “Don’t worry, Teacher Jiang, we will definitely ask you for help if we are really unsure.”

As Jiang Xinglan drove home, she still felt a sense of novelty.

"So this is what it feels like to skip work?" Jiang Xinglan gripped the steering wheel, nodded, and muttered to herself, "It's actually quite... enjoyable!"

As she spoke, Jiang Xinglan stepped on the gas and sped up. Before returning to Luyuan, she went to pick up the things she had ordered.

---

On set, Wei Yu stood in front of Shen Yuheng with his arms crossed. "Your sweetheart left work early. So, did she say hello to you this time?"

Shen Yuheng glanced at him upon hearing this, then continued looking down at the script. "No."

“See! I told you, she…” Before Wei Yu could finish speaking, Shen Yuheng interrupted, “because this suggestion was originally mine.”

Wei Yu was speechless for a moment, stammering for a long time without figuring out what to say.

"How come I never noticed before that you have a bit of a romantic side?" Wei Yu asked, puzzled.

"Hmm? Is this what you call being love-struck? I just think that even actors can take a break when they don't have scenes to film, but she, as a consultant, is on set almost all day," Shen Yuheng said logically. "As one of the lead actors, I suggested to the director that she take half a day off. Isn't that the most basic consideration?"

"Fine, I can't argue with you!"

"That's because I'm right!" The curve of Shen Yuheng's lips betrayed his good mood. He flipped through the script in his hand with this joy, preparing for the next scene.

Yunlu International, Luyuan.

Jiang Xinglan parked the car in the garage and went directly into the living room via the elevator.

Jiang's parents hadn't returned yet. When Aunt Wu saw Jiang Xinglan, she was a little surprised. Seeing that she was carrying some things, she quickly went up to her and asked, "Xinglan, why are you back?"

Jiang Xinglan avoided Aunt Wu's outstretched hand and said while changing her shoes, "It's okay, it's not heavy. I'll put it in the tea room later."

Aunt Wu didn't care about any of that and just took it directly, saying, "Why are you being so particular with me!"

"Then you can take this!" Jiang Xinglan handed over the tea leaves in her hand.

After the two put their things in the tea room, Jiang Xinglan went straight back to her room to tidy up and change her clothes before returning to the living room.

At this moment, Aunt Wu was about to go out.

"What's wrong, Aunt Wu?" Jiang Xinglan asked.

"You've finally come back, I'm going to the supermarket to buy some groceries!" Aunt Wu waved her car keys. "But next time Xinglan is coming back, let me know in advance so I can prepare."

She glanced at the time and said, "I don't know if it will still be new or exciting now, I'm off!"

“Aunt Wu, I’ll go with you,” Jiang Xinglan said, standing up.

"No, no!" Aunt Wu quickly waved her hand in refusal.

"What do you mean you don't need to?"

Jiang Yunye stepped out of the elevator and happened to hear this, so he asked.

Upon hearing Jiang Yunye's voice, Jiang Xinglan went straight to the entrance hall. "Now that you're back, let's go to the supermarket together to buy some things."

"Oh, you're back. What a rare guest!" Jiang Yunye raised his eyebrows.

"Alright, stop dawdling," Jiang Xinglan snatched the car keys from Aunt Wu's hand and pushed Jiang Yunye out. "Aunt Wu, just send us whatever you want to buy!"

"Can you two handle this?" Aunt Wu asked doubtfully.

Jiang Yunye, who was arguing with Jiang Xinglan about letting him go back to his room to put something away, immediately said upon hearing this, "I don't know if she can do it, but I definitely can! I even hired a teacher to teach me how to cook!"

The car keys were handed to Jiang Yunye, who straightened his clothes. "Aunt Wu, send me the list, don't send it to Jiang Xinglan, she doesn't know anything."

Jiang Xinglan didn't bother arguing with him, put on her shoes, and followed him into the elevator.

"What time is it? You're already off work?" Jiang Xinglan asked.

"The project is progressing smoothly, and Xingye Entertainment is fine too, especially with Chen Rui around!" Jiang Yunye fiddled with his car keys. "But what about you? Why are you back?"

"I'm free today, and didn't you say your parents miss me and wanted me to come back sometime?" Jiang Xinglan asked.

"Hmm?" Jiang Yunye thought for a moment, "Oh, right, that's right, you don't know how many times Mom has nagged about it."

During dinner in the evening.

Lin Zhi kept putting food on Jiang Xinglan's plate, saying, "Look at you, you've gotten so thin! I thought you'd have some free time after taking on that filming project, but it turns out it's even more tiring than being in the lab!"

“There’s only about half a month left before filming is finished,” Jiang Xinglan ladled a bowl of soup for Lin Zhi and placed it in front of her. “You’ve gotten to know the crew pretty well these past few days, so things will be a bit easier from now on.”

"That's alright," Lin Zhi said, taking a sip of soup. "But why did you decide to come back today? Even though it's Sunday, weren't you supposed to be arranging next week's filming schedule?"

“It’s been moved to next Monday. They finished filming this afternoon and had to go for training, so I came back,” Jiang Xinglan explained. “Besides, I heard from my brother that you told him several times to come back, so I came back to see you.”

"When did I say that?" Lin Zhi suddenly realized what she meant and looked at Jiang Yunye. "Jiang Yunye, wasn't it because I kept telling you to find a girlfriend recently that you wanted to use Lanlan as a shield?"

Jiang Yunye, who was picking up food with his chopsticks, froze, then forced a smile. "No! I just noticed that Jiang Xinglan hadn't been back for a while, so I asked her to come back and visit!"

"Heh." Lin Zhi sneered.

"You're my child, how could I not know what you're thinking? Let me tell you, you should find a girlfriend at your age!" Lin Zhi brought up the old topic again.

Jiang Xinglan and her father exchanged a glance and began to watch the show.

Unexpectedly, Jiang's mother's next sentence dragged Jiang Xinglan into the conversation as well.

"However, Lanlan, you should also consider it," Lin Zhi said earnestly. "Your Uncle Song's son is returning to China next month. He's researching medical devices. Why don't you find some time to meet him?"

"Cough cough cough!" Jiang Xinglan, who was drinking soup, struggled to keep herself from spitting it out.

"Mom, I'm not in a hurry, let's not think about these things for now!" Jiang Xinglan said, wiping her mouth with a tissue. "Besides, my brother isn't even married yet, why should I be in such a rush!"

"Don't try to fool me, you two!" Lin Zhi said. "You're twins, and there were less than 20 minutes between you!"

Jiang Xinglan and Jiang Yunye exchanged a glance and said, "Mom, my research hasn't yielded any results yet, so I really don't have the energy to dedicate to others. Let's wait until later."

“Yes, me too!” Jiang Yunye added immediately. “I just took over the company recently and I’m so busy that I don’t have time to spend with my girlfriend.”

“Your mother means that you should pay more attention to yourselves and get to know people who are suitable,” Jiang’s father said at this moment. “When you two get busy with work, you forget everything! Don’t end up not recognizing anyone except data reports, proteins, and cells.”

"Dad, you're so funny," Jiang Yunye said, pursing his lips. "But I understand. If a suitable one comes along, I'll definitely seize the opportunity!"

Jiang Chen and Lin Zhi silently shifted their gaze to Jiang Xinglan.

"I understand!" Jiang Xinglan quickly raised her hand, giving her assurance.

"Then I'll be looking forward to meeting your girlfriends and boyfriends." Lin Zhi's tone was full of satisfaction, but she spoke again when she thought of Song Huai.

"Lanlan, why don't you meet Song Huai? You're practically in the same industry, so even if you can't develop a business together, you can at least expand your network!"

Jiang Xinglan glanced at her father, who nodded at her, "That's what I meant too."

“Alright, let’s meet up when we have time.” Jiang Xinglan agreed. The instruments for early detection of Alzheimer’s disease have been continuously optimized, so let’s treat this as an academic exchange.

If all else fails, you can always make an excuse to cancel.

Jiang Xinglan's little scheme couldn't be hidden from Lin Zhi at all. "You should decide when you're free first, so you don't say you're too busy and cancel later."

"Uh." Jiang Xinglan was speechless.

“Song Huai won’t be back in China until next month, which will coincide with the end of your filming. Let’s meet then!” Lin Zhi set a time for Jiang Xinglan.

"Mom, I hope Song Huai won't suddenly bring a girlfriend back like Zhou Cuo did!" Jiang Yunye suddenly asked.

"You brat, would I make the same mistake twice!" Lin Zhi retorted directly. "It was Song Huai who asked his dad to help inquire if he could see Lanlan."

"Hmm?" Jiang Xinglan raised an eyebrow. Song Huai, what's going on this time?

I haven't been in contact with him for so many years. Could it be that he really wants to discuss medical devices with me?

If that's the case, Jiang Xinglan became somewhat interested.

---

Not long after Jiang Xinglan left, Li Luo picked up Professor Zhao and they arrived at the film set together.

When the two arrived, Shen Yuheng was filming his last scene of the day.

Li Luo and Professor Zhao stood by the monitor watching Shen Yuheng's performance.

As he looked at her, Li Luo suddenly clicked his tongue and said to Professor Zhao beside him, "Don't you think Professor Shen's current demeanor..."

He stroked his chin, hissed, and said, "Doesn't she look a bit like my junior sister?"

Professor Zhao looked at it carefully for a while before agreeing, "It seems there is a bit of that."

Director Liu stood to the side, mainly watching the monitor, but still keeping an eye on Li Luo and Professor Zhao.

Especially Li Luo, although he is Jiang Xinglan's senior, he is also the main person in charge of their project, which is equivalent to his direct superior.

Hearing their conversation, Director Liu breathed a sigh of relief and chimed in, "Well, you two don't know, but Professor Jiang has been here almost all day these past few days. Not to mention Yu Heng, I feel like the atmosphere here is almost as good as Professor Jiang's lab."

Li Luo looked around and nodded. "You know what, it actually does have that feel to it!"

"Moreover, I heard from the staff that after filming, Yuheng would often practice the experimental procedures on his own, and Professor Jiang would guide him on several occasions."

"Oh?" Li Luo's eyes widened slightly, somewhat surprised. The filming hadn't even lasted a week, and they were already giving private coaching?

Li Luo and Professor Zhao exchanged a glance, then moved closer to Director Liu and asked, "Just the two of them?"

"Well... I didn't notice, but I guess so." Director Liu said somewhat casually, "As the lead actor, it's only natural that Yuheng often consults with Teacher Jiang, even if it takes up Teacher Jiang's time."

At this point, Director Liu became a little embarrassed, "Once filming wraps up, I must give Teacher Jiang a big red envelope!"

"Then I'll thank Director Liu on behalf of my junior sister," Li Luo said with a smile.

"Oh, it's only right," Director Liu waved his hand. After confirming that there were no problems with the scenes to be filmed, Director Liu sent the actors off to training.

Today's training was relatively simple, so it ended quickly.

However, Shen Yuheng still approached Professor Zhao, "Professor Zhao, I have another question."

"Okay, go ahead."

“Actually, it’s not really a problem, but I’m a little unsure,” Shen Yuheng said. “I don’t know if you’ve read the script. Lin Yuan in the play experiences too many failures. I’ve been thinking about what these failures really mean to him.”

“That’s a very good question,” Professor Zhao said, a hint of appreciation in his eyes. “So how do you think he would view failure?”

Professor Zhao casually found a stool to sit down, then pointed to the stool next to him, "Sit down and talk."

“I think he might be treating this failure as a signpost, a signpost that can warn himself and others that ‘this road is blocked’,” Shen Yuheng pondered for a moment, then continued, “and then continue to experience failures, continue to mark this road as blocked, until he finds the right road.”

“Your understanding is not wrong,” Professor Zhao said, his eyes filled with even more admiration. “But you must remember that failure is a result in itself. Who says that failure is necessarily a bad result?”

"Thank you, Professor Zhao, I understand!" Shen Yuheng's eyes lit up. That's right, who says that failure is always a bad outcome?

Someone had told him long ago that whether the choices he made in life were right or wrong was his own decision.

"You're welcome, Yuheng. Keep it up, I believe in you," Professor Zhao said meaningfully.

Shen Yuheng took Professor Zhao's words as encouragement for him to play the role of Lin Yuan well, and he sincerely thanked Professor Zhao again.

Seeing that the two had finished chatting, Li Luo stepped forward with the photo and said, "Teacher Shen, are you free now? I wonder if you could sign this for me?"

"Of course!" Shen Yuheng answered readily.

Li Luo then handed the photo to Shen Yuheng, saying, "Thank you, Teacher Shen."

But as Shen Yuheng was signing, he suddenly remembered that when he and Jiang Xinglan walked out of the lab that day, she had asked him if she could have an autographed photo, saying that she would ask him to sign it after she got the photo.

Could this be the only one...?

This thought instantly filled Shen Yuheng's mind and wouldn't leave, causing his signature to become somewhat hesitant.

When Shen Yuheng handed back the signed photo, a hint of inquiry inadvertently appeared in his eyes.

Li Luo noticed the probing look in Shen Yuheng's eyes, but misunderstood and thought that Shen Yuheng thought she was his fan, so she said, "It's for someone else. Thank you again, Teacher Shen!"

But this answer seemed to confirm Shen Yuheng's idea.

Shen Yuheng felt as if he were trapped in a net called bitterness, unable to breathe.

He was really looking forward to the day he would sign her autograph.

---

When Jiang Xinglan returned to the film set the next day, she wondered if it was just her imagination.

She always felt that Shen Yuheng's gaze towards her was a little...resentful?

Jiang Xinglan shook her head, instantly dismissing the thought; it must be her imagination!

However, she didn't have time to think about it carefully right now, because she had more important things to discuss with Director Liu.

Suddenly, Jiang Xinglan's phone vibrated. She opened it and saw that Director Liu had posted the latest shooting schedule in the group chat.

Jiang Xinglan stopped to check. The scene of the successful experiment, which was originally scheduled to be filmed today, had been moved to next week.

Jiang Xinglan blinked, and for the first time ever, she felt unsure of what to do.

She had originally planned to discuss this matter with Director Liu, but now that it has been changed, there's no need for her to make another trip.

She strolled leisurely through the building and unknowingly walked up to a classroom.

The door was left open for filming, as if to warmly welcome her long-unseen visitor.

Jiang Xinglan looked up at the door number on her left—B205.

Shen Yuheng was waiting to film at the shooting location when he caught a glimpse of Jiang Xinglan's figure briefly flashing past the front door before reappearing at the back door.

It looks like aimless wandering.

Shen Yuheng came out and saw her staring blankly at a doorplate.

He tiptoed over and stood quietly beside her.

“I remember there’s a question I haven’t answered for you yet,” Jiang Xinglan said.

"Hmm?" Shen Yuheng searched through all the memories related to her, but couldn't find the answer to the question she had mentioned.

Jiang Xinglan walked in on her own, and everything in the laboratory was exactly as she remembered.

Jiang Xinglan looked up at Shen Yuheng, "Theoretically, it's correct, but as you said, it's for unknown marks, and this is just dye."

Jiang Xinglan tried to break free, but couldn't. She saw the disapproval in Shen Yuheng's eyes and compromised, "Okay, I won't touch you then."

Only then did Shen Yuheng slowly release his grip.
