Chapter 44: Golden Rings and Red Patterns

Chapter 44: Golden Rings and Red Patterns

The moonlight was serene, reflecting on the shallow bay. The pale blue lotus flowers were in full bloom, casting bizarre and shimmering shadows on the bottom of the pool.

Sang Ying took deep breaths for a long time and finally calmed down a bit, feeling that the cultivation was not so painful anymore.

She slowly released her grip on his finger, leaving clear bite marks on his fair finger bones.

With glistening tears still clinging to the corners of her eyes, she trembled her eyelashes and heard the young man's words. Still dazed and confused, she was caught by his grasp on her hand.

She looked up blankly and met his molten gold vertical pupils. She was startled, and it took her a few seconds to realize that they were his eyes.

Her hand was led to cover her lower abdomen, her palm pressed against her skin, with a slightly bulging curve.

...I am yours now.

Sang Ying belatedly realized what he meant, and her ears immediately turned red. This dragon is really...!

But I was really curious. So this is how we cultivate together?

Just like in the cultivation manual she had seen, she really ate it all, and the fire elemental spiritual power she had attracted was exceptionally abundant. She felt very full.

The dragon's tail had smooth, beautiful scales like jade, but the golden ring at the end of the tail had disappeared, now hanging loosely on the girl's fair wrist.

Thinking about this, Sang Ying felt a little incredulous. The dragon's tail she had seen before didn't look cute at all, except for its color. How could it have been eaten?

Sang Ying couldn't see it, but when she gently stroked it with her fingers, she could feel its strong presence even through her skin, making it impossible to ignore. Curious, she gently pressed her lower abdomen.

A muffled groan suddenly fell from above, and the young man's fingers grabbed her hand.

"Don't move."

Sang Ying looked up, somewhat displeased. "You pulled me over here yourself. And what's it to you if I touch my own stomach?"

Seeing that she had stopped crying and was even in the mood to bicker with him, the young man took her hand and gently kissed it. "Junior sister, how are you feeling? Does it still hurt?"

Sang Ying blinked. It was very painful when he first started cultivating, but it was probably because he had improved after learning, so it wasn't as painful as last time. He didn't seem to be injured either, and it didn't hurt as much as he was talking now.

She felt very strange. The cold dragon tail was wrapped around her legs, and the other dragon tail had completely eaten her. She felt that it was difficult for her to even move, as if she was nailed there.

Enveloped in the fragrance of sandalwood, only the rich fire elemental energy from the surroundings continuously flowed in.

So this is what joint cultivation is... Sang Ying understood. It's not that difficult if it's like this.

The dragon's tail remained motionless, and after getting used to its presence, Sang Ying even found it somewhat docile.

She sniffed, her voice muffled and slightly nasal from crying, and reached out for him to hold her. "I want to sit up, you're pressing on me."

"Junior sister, are you sure?"

What's there to be uncertain about? Sang Ying nodded matter-of-factly and snorted, "It was one thing when you were the junior brother at Minghua Mountain and you were a little superior to me, but now that you're cultivating, what gives you the right to be superior to me? Hurry up and pick me up."

Xie Lingyu glanced at her lightly, said nothing, put her hands on her hips, picked her up, and let her sit in her lap.

As soon as he let go, the girl fell and before she could even sit up properly, she suddenly let out a sob, her fingers gripping his shoulder, her eyes reddening.

He kindly reached out to help her up. Sang Ying recovered after a while and looked up, "You naughty dragon, what mischief have you gotten yourself into now? It hurt so much just now."

Xie Lingyu chuckled softly, "Junior Sister hasn't even finished eating yet and you're already trying to take charge, and you're blaming me for being mean?"

Sang Ying was stunned. She hadn't finished eating? But she was already very full.

As if sensing her confusion, the young man took her hand and moved her over, placing her on the dragon's tail.

Sang Ying did indeed feel her fingers touch a section of a dragon's tail. It felt empty, with some lotus dew on it, which was enough to prove that the young man was not lying.

Sang Ying froze, her face paling again. Helplessly, she tugged at his hair and muttered softly, "Xie Lingyu... really can't eat anymore."

Xie Lingyu gently kissed the corner of her lips, soothingly saying, "Okay, let's stop here for today."

Hearing him say that, Sang Ying finally felt relieved and found a comfortable position to stay in his arms, absorbing the rich fire elemental spiritual energy around her.

She lay there lazily like a dozing cat, her eyes half-closed. After a while, the young man suddenly bit her earlobe. "Junior sister took the initiative but did nothing, only caring about sleeping?"

Sang Ying lifted her eyelids, touched her full dantian, and felt satisfied:

"Xie Lingyu, let's stop our cultivation here for today. I feel I've absorbed enough elemental spiritual energy."

The young man suddenly pinched her cheek, his voice low and somewhat gloomy, "Junior sister, you're already thinking about ending it before it even started?"

Sang Ying was truly dumbfounded, raising her eyes in shock: "The cultivation hasn't started yet? What were you doing all that time?"

"These are just preparations to get my junior sister to accept me, now..."

Cool fingers hooked around her waist and lifted her up. The young man pinched her cheek and lifted her up, then kissed her hard.

"Waaah!"

Sang Ying was speechless from his kiss, her eyelashes trembling.

She had gotten used to it, but now it was completely out of her control. She gripped his arm tightly, her nails turning white from the effort.

The rich scent of sandalwood enveloped her, and in the reflection of her eyes, which were suddenly veiled with a hazy mist, he slowly kissed her, saying, "This is true cultivation, junior sister."

"Xie Lingyu..."

Her voice stammered slightly: "Didn't that cultivation book just say to eat it? What are you doing?"

The young man chuckled softly beside her ear, kissing her gently as he replied, "Junior sister is still the same as before, unwilling to read long texts, only looking at pictures, and always needing to hear others read them aloud."

He kissed her as he whispered in her ear the text from the book.

Despite the close proximity of the voices, Sang Ying couldn't hear anything clearly. All she could hear were the sounds of water elemental energy fluctuations, which attracted even more fire elemental energy. Water and fire merged together, becoming indistinguishable.

The Azure Dragon swam in the vast lotus pond, its tail stirring up waves. The scent of lotus dew in the air grew stronger, blending even more closely with the fragrance of sandalwood.

The water elemental energy was so powerful that it attracted dark clouds.

Rain began to fall outside the bamboo garden sometime earlier, pattering into the pond and striking the lotus flowers within, making them sway precariously.

Sang Ying had absolutely no experience with kissing, let alone something this difficult. Sitting in his lap, she couldn't stand his kissing her so much, and although she wanted to stop him, she couldn't. With tears in her eyes, she grabbed his arm, trying to make him stop kissing her.

But he kissed her so fiercely that he didn't give her a chance to speak at all, and her voice was stuck in her throat.

While kissing her, he didn't forget to cultivate, guiding the two completely different spiritual energies to merge and permeate his meridians and limbs.

After an unknown amount of time, Sang Ying suddenly bit his shoulder, her eyelashes trembling helplessly.

Her once clear and beautiful amber eyes were now unfocused and blank, as if she couldn't find her way. Her fingernails left several marks on his arm.

After being bitten hard on the dragon's tail, the young man finally stopped cultivating. He breathed heavily and gently massaged her slightly twitching dantian with his palm to help relieve her discomfort from cultivation.

Sang Ying opened her eyes after a while, her eyelashes fluttering. She belatedly realized what had just happened, her ears turning bright red. She raised her hand and punched him, "You bad dragon! I was just about to say something, but you wouldn't let me."

The young man held her waist, his golden eyes reflecting the red veil and moonlight behind her. He looked at her and chuckled, "You didn't cover your mouth, so why can't you say anything?"

Sang Ying was embarrassed and annoyed. He hadn't covered her mouth, but he had been kissing her the whole time, so she hadn't had a chance to speak.

She slammed her head against his shoulder, indignantly saying, "Even if that's what the book says, couldn't you kiss me a little more gently?!"

“If I were really fierce,” Xie Lingyu pulled her hand and placed it on the dragon tail, getting her hands covered in lotus dew, “Junior Sister should have finished eating by now.”

Sang Ying blushed and gave a soft hum, "Alright, I'm done cultivating and I'm going to sleep."

She tried to get out of his arms, but a cool dragon tail wrapped around her. He pulled her into his embrace and asked in a low voice, "How did you know you had finished your cultivation, Junior Sister?"

Sang Ying was taken aback, raised her hand to gesture, unsure how to describe her feelings just now. After a moment, she whispered, "Didn't you stop?"

She poked his shoulder and snorted, "Don't try to go back on your word. You said you'd do it once, and that's what you mean."

"This is just time for my junior sister to rest."

He grabbed her hand and pulled it in front of them, twirling the gold ring on her slender white wrist with his fingertips, letting her see the clear, pure gold without a single impurity.

Sang Ying's eyes widened. So that meant she hadn't even finished cultivating once?!

Before she could say anything more, the young man grabbed her waist and kissed her again, and Sang Ying's eyes quickly welled up with tears.

Sang Ying was speechless again.

The surrounding fire elemental energy was abundant, and it was drawn in by the water elemental energy, converging into her body. She couldn't possibly absorb so much energy, so the young man helped her refine it, and then introduced new energy, in a continuous cycle.

Another half hour of cultivation passed, and her cultivation level rose from the third level of Foundation Establishment to the fourth level. However, Sang Ying was unaware of this. She only knew that she was dizzy, her vision was blurry, and she had no strength at all.

And she felt so thirsty, tears were streaming down her face, and her voice was hoarse from crying.

In a daze, I felt my jaw being gently pried open, and warm tea was brought to my lips, moistening them slightly.

"Open your mouth."

Sang Ying obediently opened her mouth and drank the water from his hand. She felt a little better, but her mind was completely dazed from the kiss. She blinked, like a wronged kitten, "My wound hurts..."

An hour has passed. She has always been delicate, and even though she was very careful, she was still a little injured.

Xie Lingyu picked her up, took out the prepared Fairy Spirit Ointment, dipped his fingertip in the ointment and applied it to her wound, then scooped out some more and pushed it into the wound.

The wound felt cool after the medicine was applied, and the pain subsided. Just as Sang Ying was about to relax, the dragon's tail wrapped around her again, and she grabbed his arm.

"I...I don't want to be kissed anymore."

He just keeps kissing me!

The young man gently pecked at her earlobe, coaxing softly, "But doesn't the baby like it too?"

Sang Ying was still not fully conscious. She blinked in a daze, and when she heard him call her that, she succumbed to his charm again. She hummed softly and then fell silent.

Seeing that she was really out of strength, the young man picked her up and changed her position, then took her favorite pillow and placed it behind her back.

The fire elemental spiritual energy she cultivated was rich and abundant. After an unknown amount of time, Sang Ying had eaten her fill. She was just a little bit of spiritual energy away from breaking through when the young man stopped.

She half-opened her blurry eyes and called out to him, "Xie Lingyu..."

The young man, however, held her small face, his eyes gloomy, and asked slowly, "Junior Sister, why do you know so much about Xu Baishen?"

Sang Ying's mind was a complete mess, and she didn't pay any attention to what he said. She just grabbed his hand with her fingers, like a lost kitten, helplessly saying, "Xie Lingyu, hurry up..."

Now, the young man loosened his grip on the dragon's tail and stepped back.

The fire elemental energy had completely left her, leaving her feeling neglected. Sang Ying was almost going crazy. She was so close to breaking through, and when she opened her eyes to look for him, her voice was trembling with tears, "Waaah... Xie Lingyu..."

The young man let her throw herself into his arms, lifted her small face, met her confused and anxious eyes, and continued to ask, "How did you know that Xu Baishen has a scar on his back and two small moles?"

Sang Ying tried her best to process what she heard, racking her brains. Xu Baishen, the injury—she couldn't understand it at all. She sobbed, "I don't know... I asked Lengmian to find out the information. He wanted to take over the sect from me, so I..."

Her eyes were red and tears welled up, her fingers gripping his tightly. "Xie Lingyu, sob, I hate you..."

Before the familiar words could be finished, the young man kissed her lips, pressing them deeply into his mouth.

The dragon's tail coiled around her, and a surge of rich fire elemental energy engulfed her, completely submerging her. Sang Ying was satisfied; she was just a hair's breadth away from breaking through her cultivation level. Her beautiful amber eyes lost focus, and her consciousness became a blur.

She had no idea what happened after that. She had broken through too many realms in her cultivation, and her divine sense was too tired. She only vaguely knew that the sky outside seemed to be getting brighter.

The young man pressed his lips against hers and fed her the rich sandalwood nectar, mouthful after mouthful.

"Ugh." Sang Ying regained some consciousness and tried to push him away, but the dragon's tail was tightly wrapped around her. She didn't stop until she couldn't drink anymore, and her lower belly was bulging.

The hazy sunlight shone through the red gauze curtains.

The young man pulled her into his arms, kissed her cheek, and lifted her slender white wrist, presenting it to her like a treasure, his voice lazy and husky.

"Junior sister, look."

Through the dim light, Sang Ying groggily opened her eyes and saw a rich, eerie red pattern slowly emerging on the golden ring.
