Kore and Niles Lach's eyes widened and their mouths gaped open, completely frozen in place.
Their faces turned pale, and their bodies trembled slightly. A tense atmosphere filled the air around them, as if time itself had frozen.
Corey's heart was pounding. He was breathing heavily, his fingers gripping the table tightly, as if he needed to do so to maintain his balance.
Niles Lach coughed lightly, trying to break the awkward silence.
But even when Niles Lak opened his mouth, he didn't know what to say, because his mind went blank, as if all his thoughts had been overwhelmed by the shocking news.
Their eyes met, then quickly looked away.
They all understood that they needed time to sort out their thoughts. Therefore, the atmosphere in the meeting room remained quiet, like a sluggish clock, waiting for them to readjust their mindset and reignite their momentum.
After a long and repeated explanation and confirmation from Darren Jonah, Corey and Niles Lacker finally accepted this astonishing fact.
Then, Elder Darren Jonah, along with Corey and several elders and Grand Marshals from the commoner faction, returned to the Imperial homeworld to begin their scheme.
