Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Feng Ran quickly succumbed to the kiss. Her heart was fragile and soon began to ache. She cried and tried to push Shen Shiqian away, but he kissed her even more fiercely, leaving several red marks on her neck from the Alpha.

Shen Shiqian was so moved that he became fierce. Reluctantly, he let go of her and sighed, "Ranran, I love you. Please believe me."

Feng Ran was a little dizzy, but looked at him cautiously and expectantly, her pink and rosy cheeks like a ripe apple: "Then... can we go on a date?"

Shen Shiqian was in a good mood: "Of course."

Feng Ran looked at him and thought to himself, "Since you can't make a decision, then I'll arrange it for you."

Friday school ended earlier than usual, and Feng Ran skipped the last self-study period and went to the Wormwood Bar at 79 Eternal Square, following the address given by Fran.

The shop's decor was retro and dimly lit. It was rather deserted and empty since it wasn't open yet. A few people were gathered in twos and threes in front of the bar. Fran was sitting lazily against the bar, looking tired and sleepy.

Feng Ran walked up to him, glanced at the man behind the bar, and then looked at Fran: "Did you stay up all night again, Fran? Cheer up, we have important matters to discuss today."

Fran let out a painful sob, feeling guilty and sad: "I'm sorry, I think I messed up."

Feng Ran looked at him amusedly: "What's wrong? Did the negotiations fail?"

Her eyes suddenly sharpened as she moved closer to Fran: "There's a smell of blood. Did they attack you?" She affectionately patted Fran's head and took out a small mechanical device, placing it in his hand: "Alright, alright, you're really not suited for this kind of thing. Take this and watch it carefully."

She then looked at the others near the bar: "Did Fran misrepresent the message? Although it's nominally a negotiation, anyone with common sense should know that I don't want to hear a rejection."

“Raul, Liux, Cheng Fei…” Feng Ran’s gaze swept around, finally settling on the man behind the bar: “You’re the one in charge here, Jiang Lan.”

Raul, who appeared to be the youngest, was the first to speak out: "Fran, you traitor! You always spill the beans! What good has this sickly woman done for you? Aren't you always the one who hates nobles? What, she picked you up..."

"Raul."

Jiang Lan glanced at him indifferently, and Raul shut his mouth indignantly.

Jiang Lan: "Won't you introduce yourself first, Miss?"

Feng Ran glanced at Fran, and Jiang Lan explained, "He is very loyal to you. Apart from a false name and a false identity, he hasn't said anything. Just like the false identity you gave him, it's seamless."

Feng Ran: "I thought you would gladly accept help from someone in this situation, but you are so hostile towards me. Does that mean that my sending Hilde to prison has been exposed?"

Liux glared at her fiercely: "You admit it, huh!"

Feng Ran: "He provoked the wrong person first, so he deserved it, didn't he? At least I spared the lives of the others in your strongholds, which is already quite merciful, isn't it? But it seems that not all space pirates are idiots."

The only woman in the pirate crew present, Cheng Fei, pulled out a pistol and moved close to Feng Ran, pressing the dark muzzle against her forehead, staring at her menacingly: "Say that again?"

Feng Ran remained calm and composed: "Really? You have no intention of cooperating. What a pity."

An eerie chill instantly enveloped the small bar. Cheng Fei, an Omega, could barely hold her gun under extreme pressure, collapsing to the ground, struggling to breathe, and even her thoughts gradually becoming numb.

The small mechanical device in Fran's hand flashed red, its tip began to spin, and it started spraying soothing medicine, forming a small buffer barrier.

Betas couldn't sense pheromones, but Feng Ran's manipulation and release included more than just pheromones. The pressure also came partly from mental energy. Betas, who couldn't produce pheromones, were at the very bottom of the mental energy system, so they naturally couldn't withstand the pressure from the absolute top Enigma. As a result, everyone present, except for Feng Ran and Fran, looked grim. The most composed one, Jiang Lan, was actually a Beta at the very bottom of the chain. He couldn't even withstand the pressure and bent over because he had scratched a bloody handprint on the bar.

Fran, clutching the small machine, looked tremblingly at Feng Ran: "Feng Ran..."

Feng Ran: "What, are you going to plead for them?"

Fran shook his head: "Don't waste your mental energy like that, it will worsen the inflammation."

Feng Ran glanced at the others: "Tch, consider yourself lucky." She withdrew her mental energy and pheromones, squatted down and took the gun from Cheng Fei's hand. Seeing that the other's face was both red and white, she held the trigger and twirled it in her hand a few times, shattering a glass ornament on the side of the bar. The shards ricocheted and left a bloody mark on Cheng Fei's face.

Feng Ran: "I really hate having a gun pointed at me. I hope you remember that. After all, I've never been very patient when it comes to teaching people."

The chilled rum pheromones in the air hadn't dissipated yet when Feng Ran tossed the gun into the wine glass in front of Jiang Lan, casually tidied his hair, and looked at Fran again: "If they don't want to, then so be it. Let's go. I never stop people from courting death."

Fran: "Is that all?"

Feng Ran: "Yeah, after all, they've all been targeted by Shen Shiqian. I have other options, so there's no need to make things difficult for myself. I'm not in a hurry, I have plenty of time to take it slow."

"Please wait a moment."

Jiang Lan wiped her fingers with a napkin, looking at Feng Ran with a calm yet distant expression.

"May I hear the specifics of your proposed collaboration with us? I apologize on behalf of the members for their rudeness, and I promise to give it serious consideration."

Feng Ran: "It's nothing serious, just like this guy." She reached out and teased Fran's chin. Fran rolled his eyes at her but didn't do anything.

"The content is simply, accept my protection,"

"Accept me, dominate me."

"this……"

"Wind Ignites".

"Miss Fengran," Jiang Lan chuckled lightly, "Are you plotting a rebellion?"

Feng Ran squinted as she recalled the mudslinging that Jeno Carlos and the Imperial Council had thrown at her, and then looked at Jiang Lan and affirmed, "It's worth considering, after all, I've decided to stand against Shen Shiqian."

"Your target is Shen Shiqian?"

"You could say that."

Jiang Lan sighed: "The White Sand Star Pirates can be of use to you, but I need to know your next plan and what you intend to do with them after you break out of prison and rescue Hilde."

In the dim indoor light, Feng Ran's eyes shone with an unusual brightness, like a hawk eyeing its prey, gleaming with a cold light.

"I don't have much of a grudge against that guy. As long as he doesn't come to provoke me, I won't bother dealing with him. Of course, I'm happy to fight him. Fran is eager to use him as a test subject. If he's no longer useful, we'll just get rid of him. The Empire can arrest him once, and they can arrest him a second time. Please make sure to pass this on to him."

"As for my plan, if you are sure you want to cooperate, the prison break will be arranged tomorrow, so you need to make arrangements for the escape starship and escape route tonight. I will prepare a temporary base for you on Laplace. You all better go to Laplace, otherwise I can't guarantee that your other bases will not be wiped out."

Liux: "Tomorrow? How can that be possible! Our starships don't have clearance; it'll take at least three days to evade the Empire's surveillance system!"

Feng Ran: "It's just a pass. I can grant you the berthing rights at the port. You can just disguise yourselves as passenger ships and sneak in openly."

"The team split into two groups: one group infiltrated the central prison to rescue people, while the other group kidnapped and took hostages."

Jiang Lan frowned: "Who are you kidnapping?"

Feng Ran pointed to himself: "Shen Shiqian's fiancée, that is—me."

Raul: "Ahem! What did you say? That Shen Shiqian? He actually has a fiancée? No? You? You..." He took a deep breath, momentarily speechless, and secretly glanced at Fran: "Really?"

Fran nodded dismissively, pleased with their reaction; he was used to it, but seeing others react so strongly gave him a sense of nonchalant superiority.

Feng Ran: "Because the kidnapping needs to be carried out under Shen Shiqian's nose, we need a few bolder individuals to take me hostage to buy you time to leave Qiliya. As long as Shen Shiqian doesn't come after you personally, shaking off the Imperial Police will be a piece of cake for you."

Cheng Fei, abandoning her previous arrogant attitude, looked at her warily: "Is it necessary to go to such extremes? It's hard to say whether the military will intervene, but a kidnapping will definitely make Shen Shiqian hold a grudge, right?"

Feng Ran: "The Public Security Police and the Ministry of State Security are within the sphere of influence of the Parliament. He may not necessarily take action, but once he makes a choice, it will be the first step towards utter ruin, won't it?"

It is indeed inconvenient for the military to interfere in the work of the parliament. Shen Shiqian's inaction is of course justifiable. However, once the distinction between public and private interests is involved, and once he is put in the position of making that choice, his inaction will be labeled as selfish betrayal. Even if no one knows that such a kidnapping incident has occurred in the dark, Shen Shiqian himself will have such a perception. The seeds of doubt and self-doubt are all omens of collapse.

Let her see for herself what Shen Shiqian will choose.

Jiang Lan closed her eyes: "I have no objection."

Feng Ran: "Then you can kidnap me tomorrow, and I'll send you the location." She thought of something else interesting and suddenly smiled brightly, "Hmm, how's your acting?"

Feng Ran: "I'm not completely clean with Shen Shiqian either. Sometimes I need to use special methods to clear my name. If my acting is bad and I give myself away, it will be a huge loss."

Jiang Lan: "I understand, I'll be careful."

"Fran, you should get ready too. You're going to Laplace with them tomorrow."

Fran immediately deflated: "But my experiment..."

Feng Ran: "I need you to negotiate. Don't worry, I'll let you come back after this is over. You'd better perform well this time, and don't let anyone look down on you again."

"good."

Feng Ran: "Have you learned the art of negotiation?"

Fran suddenly perked up, as if he'd been daydreaming in class and been called on by the teacher: "What's the trick?"

Feng Ran took the gun, which was soaked in wine, from the wine glass, unloaded the bullets, held it in her hand, and made a shooting gesture towards the dartboard on the distant pillar. She gently raised her hand, and the bullet that appeared out of thin air hit the bullseye, but because the force was too light, it fell to the ground after hitting the bullseye, making a crisp tinkling sound.

Feng Ran: "Of course, we should fully demonstrate our strength."

Fran curiously reached out to pry open her hand, and there were several more bullets in Feng Ran's palm. It was like magic, and he asked, "How did you do that?"

Feng Ran opened and closed her hands, and the bullet disappeared again. She smiled and said, "It's a little bit of a special ability that I recently learned."

Although compared to when I was 24 and could escape death by teleporting through space, I can only move some small things now, it's still a pleasant surprise that I awakened early. I really want Shen Shiqian to see it too.

She was in a good mood and completely ignored the ghostly expressions on the faces of everyone else present except Fran.
