The 2003-04 regular season has come to a close. After six months of fighting side by side, the Nets have forged a deep bond of friendship.
At the beginning of the season, the Nets lost several games. The team gradually gelled and played several tough games. They also had conflicts with several teams, the most serious of which was with the Pacers, in which four key players were suspended. As for the fines, they were minor issues. Stockton only knew the amount of his fine from the league's announcement, but these announcements were suspended once they reached the Nets.
Nets owner Zhang Wei paid for all the players' meals and told them, "If this happens again, keep doing it for me!"
Speaking of which...
Zhang Wei doesn't appear in public often, and his ordinary face didn't leave much of an impression on the Nets players, except for the time he helped a player pay a fine, which made him seem particularly generous.
A season spent together was filled with joy and surprises!
Mourning once again displayed his iron-willed prowess, Hill returned from a serious injury, and Stockton uttered the words "Old soldiers never die, they just gradually fade away" at the beginning of the season, which had a heroic feel to it, like the mournful cry of "The wind is howling, the Yi River is cold, the hero goes forth and never returns."
Wei Guo has set some records that are hard to break this season.
Unfortunately, Wei Guo failed to break his record of 100% free throw percentage this season. His free throw percentage this season was only 97.1%, a decrease of 2.9 percentage points from last season.

Wei Guo has won the scoring title and the blocks title for three consecutive seasons. This is also his second time winning the rebounding title. As for the steals title, it is his first time. In fact, Wei Guo ranks in the top five in the league in all five of these statistics every season.
and...
The enemy discovered that Wei was still progressing, and that was what made Wei so terrifying!
Wei Guo, who became the regular season MVP in his rookie season, has improved every season, both on offense and defense, as evidenced by his steals title this season.
These five statistics are easy to focus on. As for other statistics, there is no need to elaborate, such as field goal percentage, three-point percentage, free throw percentage, efficiency rating (pER)... Wei Guo is number one in all of these rankings.
The league also has a very interesting list: the missed shots list!
This list cannot be generalized. When you take more shots, the number of missed shots will inevitably increase. Allen Iverson ranks first on the list with 14.4 missed shots per game, Tracy McGrady ranks second with 13.6 missed shots per game, LeBron James ranks sixth with 11 missed shots per game, Carmelo Anthony ranks ninth with 10.3 missed shots per game, and Kobe Bryant ranks tenth with 10.2 missed shots per game.
If you scroll down this list, you'll also find the name Wei Guo.
Wei Guo's 6.9 missed shots per game rank 99th in the league, just a little short of falling out of the top 100. Even with the Nets, Wei Guo's missed shots are not the most, with Kenyon, a power forward, averaging 7.1 missed shots per game, ranking first on the team.

With the regular season over, the playoff bracket has been determined, based on the Eastern and Western Conference standings: first place will play the eighth, second place will play the seventh, and so on.
Western Conference standings:
Timberwolves: 58 wins, 24 losses
Lakers: 57 wins and 25 losses
San Antonio Spurs: 56 wins, 26 losses
Sacramento Kings: 55 wins, 27 losses
Dallas Mavericks: 52 wins and 30 losses
Rockets: 51 wins and 31 losses
Grizzlies: 45 wins, 37 losses
Denver Nuggets: 43 wins and 39 losses
Eastern Conference standings:
Brooklyn Nets: 69 wins and 13 losses
Pistons: 61 wins, 21 losses
Pacers: 51 wins, 31 losses
Miami Heat: 45 wins and 37 losses
Magic: 44 wins and 38 losses
Pelicans: 41 wins, 41 losses
Milwaukee Bucks: 37 wins and 45 losses
Knicks: 35 wins, 47 losses
The Western Conference teams are relatively evenly matched, with the top six teams having very close records, meaning the final standings weren't determined until the very end of the regular season. In contrast, the Eastern Conference teams are vastly different, with the Nets and Pistons leading by a wide margin, while the Bucks and Knicks, with winning percentages below 50%, both made the playoffs.
The Heat and Magic were somewhat of a surprise.
Of all the point guards in the league, Kidd is definitely in the top tier (T1). Nash, Marbury, and Davis would all be in the second tier (T2). As for shooting guards, McGrady is also in the top tier (T1), along with Kobe, Iverson, Carter, Peja...
The Magic boast two Tier 1 superstars, Kidd and McGrady, yet their record is only fifth in the Eastern Conference, much to the dissatisfaction of fans. However... these strong teams all aim for the playoffs. They can easily finish the regular season and let the playoffs decide the outcome. Upsets have happened before, and there are no truly weak teams in this league.
......
As the Nets prepare for the playoffs, everyone seems to be selectively forgetting one thing.
The question is about Wei Guo's future with the Nets. Wei Guo only signed a one-year contract with the Nets, and based on the experience of the previous two seasons, he will most likely transfer again next season.
But none of that matters. What matters is whether the Nets can win the championship this season.
This is Stockton's last chance. Even if the Nets fail to win the championship this season, he will choose to retire. And the promise Wei Guo made to him last year should now be fulfilled.
Stockton didn't sleep a wink the night before the playoffs began.
It's not that he doesn't want to sleep...
He tossed and turned, unable to sleep. He had come close to the championship countless times in his career, but back then Jordan was an insurmountable mountain. Even in the two years after Jordan retired, Hakeem Olajuwon's Rockets were ridiculously strong.
When Jordan retired, Olajuwon aged, and the Utah Jazz duo became the Utah Oldies, the championship seemed increasingly distant. But now... the Nets are the biggest favorites to win the title. Their roster is fearless against any team, and the team atmosphere is excellent—from the head coach to...
"My dream is about to come true!"
At daybreak, Stockton roared, waking his sleeping wife.
"Old Si..."
Stockton's wife scolded him playfully, "What's wrong with you now?"
There are many players who can't sleep like Stockton, including Mourning, Hill, Jefferson, Zoran... The playoffs are about to begin!
