Chapter 1 Awakening

"Sister, I've finally met you." His voice choked with emotion, and he forced back his tears.

These past few days he has been looking for an opportunity to visit his elder sister, but he has always been stopped by the servants.

If he hadn't overheard the servants saying that his sister hadn't eaten for three days, he wouldn't have ignored his second uncle and aunt's warnings and forced his way in.

Su Wan felt a sharp pain in her wrist where he was gripping her tightly, and she couldn't help but hiss.

This kid has a really strong grip; she almost couldn't resist kicking him away.

Su Yuze was completely unaware that his actions had hurt Su Wan, and asked with concern, "Is Sister feeling unwell anywhere?"

Su Wan couldn't help but pull her hand back: "Su Yuze, if you don't let go, you're going to break my wrist."

The original owner was delicate and precious, with fair and tender skin that would bleed at the slightest touch.

Su Yuze hurriedly let go, glanced down, and saw several red marks on her wrist.

Su Wan: "..."

This child is such a sweet little angel, but this steamed bun looks so unappetizing. It's rock hard in my hand, like a stone.

Suddenly, I really miss the carefree days before I transmigrated, when I could eat and drink whatever I wanted.

Su Yuze scratched his head sheepishly. He knew the steamed buns weren't pretty or tasty, but there was nothing he could do; they were what he ate every day.

But what really angered him was that his second uncle and aunt planned to have his cousin marry into the Zhao family in the capital instead of his older sister.

But the elder sister is going to marry a man who is about to die.

Thinking of this, Su Yuze clenched her small hands tightly, hating herself for being too weak and useless, unable to help her older sister in any way.

Su Wan had been watching his actions closely and knew he was blaming himself again, so she patted his shoulder. Then she glanced towards the door and, seeing that the maid hadn't gone far, lowered her voice and asked, "When is the wedding?"

"tomorrow."

After saying that, Su Yuze looked dejected.
