Chapter 118 Your Excellency Has Quite Many Identities

"You...you're planning a rebellion?"

Su Wan almost jumped up on the spot after hearing Wei Jingzhuo's words.

Wei Jingzhuo put his finger to his lips and shushed her, saying, "Awan, you can't say these things out loud."

Su Wan nodded quickly, ran to the window, and peered out the window.

Her and Wei Jingzhuo's room was in a secluded courtyard, a quiet and elegant setting. No one else was allowed in without permission. Night had fallen; moonlight cast deep shadows on the ground, a gentle breeze rustled the trees, and occasionally a few withered yellow leaves drifted down.

Even though she couldn't see anyone, she was still worried. She closed the window. Then she ran to another window and closed it.

Being hunted down is a minor matter; Wei Jingzhuo is highly skilled in martial arts, and even his bodyguard Lin Qingfeng is an expert. Dealing with assassins is no problem. Rebellion, however, would be disastrous; failure would mean certain death.

At that time, there will be no place for them in the world.

After closing the window, she ran back to Wei Jingzhuo's side: "Why did you suddenly say that? Is it because of the stolen imperial edict?"

Wei Jingzhuo said, "Tell me first, why does that Eunuch Yang hate you so much? Aren't you his cousin?"

Su Wan blushed slightly and raised her hand, making a cutting motion: "Didn't I already tell you? I'll cut it..."

Wei Jingzhuo initially looked confused, but then suddenly had a sudden realization.

Yang Gonggong was a eunuch.

He felt a chill run through him and looked down at his lower body.

Su Wan quickly explained, "Ah Jin, don't take it to heart. He came the night before my wedding and tried to assault me. I just punished him a little."

Wei Jingzhuo paused for a moment, then said quietly, "This little punishment is fine..."

Seeing that he seemed hesitant to speak, Su Wan asked, "What's wrong? Why are you speaking so haltingly?"

“Ah Wan, you don’t know how deep his hatred for you is,” Wei Jingzhuo raised his hand and touched her cheek. “When he returns to the capital, he will definitely exaggerate the story of the stolen imperial edict.”

"So, they're talking badly about us in front of the emperor?" Su Wan roughly understood. "What if we catch the person who stole the imperial edict first and return it?"

Wei Jingzhuo's eyes lit up, and he put his hands on her shoulders, saying, "Awan, this is a good idea."

"What's good?" Su Wan was a little confused.

Wei Jingzhuo stood up and announced to the outsiders, "Lin Qingfeng."

Lin Qingfeng pushed open the door and entered, clasping his hands in greeting, "What are your orders, my lord?"

"Catch up with Yang Yaozu's convoy and secretly put the imperial edict back."

Lin Qingfeng nodded, turned around, and left.

Su Wan then realized what was happening and grabbed Wei Jingzhuo's sleeve: "So it was you who asked Lin Qingfeng to steal it."

She vaguely guessed that the person who stole the imperial edict must have some connection with the General's Mansion. After all, ordinary thieves wouldn't dare to steal anything from the General's Mansion, let alone an imperial edict. She just never expected that the person who stole the imperial edict was Wei Jingzhuo.

Wei Jingzhuo turned around and pulled her into his arms, saying in a deep voice, "Yes, I did it. I will never let you leave my side."

Su Wan felt his arms were holding her very tightly, as if he wanted to meld her whole body into his. She felt a little short of breath and pushed against Wei Jingzhuo's chest with both hands, saying, "Ah Jin, be gentle."

Wei Jingzhuo remained unmoved, supporting the back of her head with one hand and lowering his head to forcefully kiss her tender lips.

Su Wan was already struggling to breathe, and with her lips firmly sealed, she soon felt dizzy. She clenched her fists and punched Wei Jingzhuo's shoulder several times before he finally removed his lips.

"Don't be so rude." Su Wan gasped for breath, glanced quickly at Wei Jingzhuo, and then lowered her head again.

She felt her cheeks burning. Her heart was pounding like a bunch of rabbits were running around inside.

Wei Jingzhuo's voice was a little hoarse: "Awan, my feelings for you are genuine, this isn't something I said lightly. I'm willing to go alone to the Western Rong army's camp for you, to stand before the enemy..."

"I know, I know," Su Wan replied in a flustered manner, pushing against Wei Jingzhuo's chest with both hands.

Wei Jingzhuo seemed to sense her resistance and whispered, "Awan, you don't want to?"

Su Wan first shook her head, then nodded, then shook her head again. She didn't even know what she was thinking; her mind was blank.

She certainly acknowledged Wei Jingzhuo's sincerity. A man willing to risk his life for her was definitely someone she could trust and rely on. Moreover, he was her rightful husband, someone Cui Mama had openly and legitimately brought from the Su family.

She panicked because it was all too sudden; she wasn't mentally prepared.

This feeling is like a shut-in girl at home, wearing pajamas and slippers, not washing her hair or brushing her teeth, snuggled in bed watching a romantic drama, with fast food containers and snack wrappers scattered all over the floor. Suddenly, the door opens, and her favorite idol appears in the doorway.

Yes, it was that moment of helplessness.

"Ah Jin, I do... No, no, that's not what I meant, I meant..."

Before she could even begin to stammer, Wei Jingzhuo had already picked her up and carried her to the bedside.

Su Wan's body was tense, her eyes closed, constantly reassuring herself: This day would come sooner or later. It wasn't like she had to be prepared. Anyway, Wei Jingzhuo was aroused, and she was also somewhat excited by the kiss. The timing wasn't exactly inappropriate; in short, the two of them rolling around on the bed a couple of times would suffice.

She was still muttering when Wei Jingzhuo suddenly stopped moving.

At first, Su Wan thought she was just too nervous, causing Wei Jingzhuo to misunderstand that she was unwilling. But when she opened her eyes, she saw that Wei Jingzhuo's face was backlit by the candlelight, and in the shadows, the tenderness and affection from before vanished.
