Chapter 12 Giving Birth to a Little Master

In July, the Northwest is already cool at night, with mountain winds howling and bringing a touch of chill.

Looking at Wei Jingzhuo lying on the ground, Su Wan couldn't bear to leave him to die out of professional conscience. Besides, it was so late at night; where could she go by herself?

Wei Jingzhuo cannot die now, and she does not intend to live with the reputation of a widow. After all, the widow of the deposed crown prince is also someone who could lose her life at any time.

After seeing that Granny Cui had disappeared, she turned around and looked at Wei Jingzhuo lying on the ground.

The soft moonlight shone on his unconscious face, making him appear less cold and more refined, like a gentle and elegant young nobleman, aloof and distant.

She knew it was all a lie. This man was absolutely ruthless and merciless when he got physical.

Even while unconscious, he still frowned and gripped his longsword tightly.

Even at this point, he remained on guard. This shows how wary he was in normal times.

She placed her fingers on Wei Jingzhuo's wrist, listening quietly to his pulse. It was sometimes slow and sometimes fast, seemingly disordered, weak and feeble, which was clearly a sign of poisoning.

But she wasn't entirely sure yet and needed to make a final confirmation.

Further treatment was impossible in this place; there were no IV stands or lighting in the open area. She stayed by Wei Jingzhuo's side in the darkness until the rapid sound of wheels turned the corner at the foot of the mountain, and Granny Cui arrived in a horse-drawn carriage.

Wei Jingzhuo was unconscious, and even if they escaped like this, the two women would be powerless to resist the assassins they encountered on the way. At Su Wan's suggestion, they decided to take him back to the village for treatment first.

The two of them helped Wei Jingzhuo onto the carriage and returned to their residence in Shigang Village. Once inside the room, they helped Wei Jingzhuo to bed, and Su Wan lit a candle.

Granny Cui didn't wait a moment longer and hurried out to find a doctor.

Su Wan leaned down and slowly approached Wei Jingzhuo's lips, carefully examining the bloodstains at the corners of his mouth that he hadn't yet wiped away.

The guard Lin Qingfeng had just returned from outside and had only stepped into the room when he witnessed this scene, which startled him so much that he almost lost his footing.

Realizing he had disturbed his masters' good time, he suppressed his question and quietly turned to leave.

Once outside, he wiped the sweat from his forehead.

Fortunately, I managed to hold back from making a sound. It would have been a real sin to ruin my master and Miss Su's wedding night.

That would be good too. If Master and Miss Su were to have a little master soon, that would be even better.

Those who have always followed their master all hope that he will soon have an heir. It seems that choosing a wife for their master was the right thing to do; they are now just waiting for their future young master.

Su Wan was completely unaware that someone had come in; she was currently looking down intently at the bloodstains.

Warm breath sprayed onto the handsome man's face, and the unconscious man's eyelashes trembled slightly.

She raised her hand, wiped some blood from the corner of his mouth, smelled it, and nodded knowingly.

It turns out they really were poisoned.

She took out some detoxifying medicine from the pharmacy.

Although she doesn't know what kind of poison he was given, since Wei Jingzhuo has survived until now, the poison must be slow-acting.

She could only resort to conservative treatment. First, she gave him some detoxifying medication, and then administered intravenous detoxifying fluids daily to gradually dilute the toxins in his body.

Let's see how it goes in two weeks.

With a plan in mind, she began to take action.

Just as she brought the medicine to his lips, Wei Jingzhuo suddenly opened his eyes, his entire being instantly filled with intense killing intent. He swiftly reached out and grabbed her neck.

Su Wan gripped the man's wrists with both hands, struggling desperately. Her face gradually turned purple, and her breathing became rapid.

The Wei Jingzhuo before her had no warmth in his eyes, only bloodlust; he looked at her as if she were a stranger.

She tried her best to pry Wei Jingzhuo's hand, but she couldn't budge him an inch.

Gradually, she began to hallucinate. She knew that if she didn't find a way to stop Wei Jingzhuo, she would be doomed.

She decisively took a syringe from the pharmacy and, with a groping motion, plunged it into his arm.

The pain in his arm made Wei Jingzhuo momentarily dazed, and he loosened his grip.

Su Wan quickly took a deep breath and forcefully inserted another needle. Only then did the ruthlessness in Wei Jingzhuo's eyes gradually fade. When his eyes regained their rationality and he saw the person in front of him clearly, he quickly let go.

"Cough! Cough!" Su Wan gasped for breath as soon as she was freed, and said angrily, "If I had known you were going to kill me, I shouldn't have cared about whether you lived or died!"

After saying that, she glared at him fiercely.

If it weren't for the fact that the two of them were now in the same boat, she wouldn't care whether this person lived or died.

At worst, if he unfortunately dies, she'll dig a hole and bury him.

Wei Jingzhuo's face was pale. He closed his eyes to hide his violent emotions from just now. After calming down, he apologized to Su Wan: "I'm sorry... I was rude just now."

Upon seeing the five clearly visible finger marks on her slender, fair neck, he couldn't help but frown.

Su Wan didn't want to pay any attention to him. She got up and went to the window, breathing in the fresh air. Only then did she feel like she had finally come back to life.

Wei Jingzhuo seemed to realize he was in the wrong. He took a breath, thought for a moment, and said, "It won't happen again. If you're still angry, how about you pinch me instead?"

Does this person even want a future?

Dream on!

What else could she do to strangle him? What if she kills him? Who would be her henchman then?

Knowing how angry she was, Wei Jingzhuo tried to get up, but as soon as he moved, a series of sharp pains, like being pricked by needles, came from his chest.
