She had used this trick on Yang Yaozu when she first transmigrated. Using it again now was simply a matter of practice making perfect.
The short constable had no idea there was someone hiding in the house. Su Wan's hairpin pierced the back of his neck. The constable fell straight to the ground without even making a sound, dropping his torch and keys.
Chu Mingyao jumped up, covering her mouth, and said, "You killed him?"
Su Wan grabbed the short constable's foot and whispered, "I just pricked an acupoint to make him unable to speak or move. Come and help me."
Chu Mingyao rushed over, grabbed the short yamen runner's other foot, and the two of them together dragged the short yamen runner behind the door.
The sound of the key falling startled the tall constable who was dozing by the door. He turned around and looked at the door, noticing the torch had fallen to the ground, illuminating the floor, but the short constable was gone. He exclaimed in surprise, "Third brother, what are you doing?"
Hearing the tall constable outside asking a question, Su Wan quickly whispered to Chu Mingyao, "Quick, the second step."
Chu Mingyao understood and said in a sweet and coquettish voice, "Brother, he's having a good time here. Come on over."
The tall constable was taken aback and strode towards the room, saying, "Third brother, are you crazy? Come out here! If the master finds out, he'll kill us."
Su Wan, clutching another hairpin, hid behind the door, intending to do the same thing.
The tall constable rushed over. She had barely stood behind the door when he burst into the room and immediately saw the short constable lying on the ground and Chu Mingyao squatting beside him.
Su Wan realized something was wrong and quickly raised her hairpin to stab the tall yamen runner in the back of the neck.
The tall constable, seeing what was happening, was already on guard. Just as Su Wan rushed out, he turned and blocked her attack, striking her wrist and sending the hairpin flying.
Su Wan's wrist throbbed with pain as she clutched it and stepped back. Chu Mingyao stood up and rushed to Su Wan's side, anxiously asking, "Sister, what should we do?"
The tall constable recognized Su Wan as the woman who had caused trouble in the main hall and whom Ge Fanghai had been chasing. He sneered, "What a coincidence! So you were hiding in this room. As long as I hand you over to the magistrate, I can claim my reward."
Although the short constable had already fallen to the ground, he thought that the two weak women were easy to deal with and wanted to claim the credit for himself, so he didn't shout loudly.
While pulling Chu Mingyao back, Su Wan took out a whistle from her pocket.
Before he could even blow, the tall constable had already collapsed to the ground like limp mud. Chu Yi appeared behind him.
He calmly said, "You two have caused such a big mess in just a short time since I left."
