Chapter 151 Breakthrough

Su Wan complained, "You've talked for so long, but you still don't have any ideas."

Chu Yi smiled and reached out to brush the snowflakes off Su Wan's hair, but Su Wan turned her head away. Chu Yi had no choice but to withdraw his hand and said, "Two and a half miles east of here, there is a small mountain. One side is an insurmountable cliff, and there is only one path leading up the mountain. If we can get there, we can hold our ground."

Su Wan tilted her head and said, "What if the enemy surrounds the mountain?"

"Then there's nothing I can do," Chu Yi said with a resigned expression. "We can only hope that your husband will come to save us."

Su Wan looked up speechlessly, and after a long while said, "Ah Jin doesn't know what happened here, so how could he possibly come?"

Chu Yi smiled and said, "I'm not a god, this is all I can do. The enemy is just ahead, everyone prepare for battle."

Su Wan's guards and Chu Yi's attendants drew their swords.

A gust of wind swept through, clearing away the snowflakes swirling in front of Su Wan.

She saw a huge tent not far ahead, with a campfire burning at the entrance. Several soldiers carrying spears and shields were moving around the tent. Inside the tent, there were also shadowy figures moving about, seemingly a dozen or so soldiers.

Next to the tent, there were rows of weapon racks with shields, swords, and spears on them.

Chu Yi drew an arrow, nocked it on the bowstring, pulled the bowstring taut, and with a whoosh, the arrow flew out, striking a soldier in front of the tent in the throat, who fell to the ground.

The others raised their swords and lunged forward, engaging the soldiers who rushed out of the tent in combat.

Su Wan and Chu Mingyao, who did not know martial arts, could only watch the fighting from a distance.

The shouts of battle and the clash of swords alerted the other tents nearby. Chu Yi swung his sword, felling a soldier, and pointed eastward, shouting to Su Wan and Chu Mingyao, "Run east quickly, or it will be too late!"

Su Wan grabbed Chu Mingyao and ran, with the captain of the guards and several other highly skilled guards protecting them.

Chu Yi picked up a shield and shouted to the others who were fighting, "Don't linger in battle! Pick up your shields to block enemy arrows, and retreat while fighting!"

The words had barely left his mouth when several sharp whistles echoed through the snowstorm as more than a dozen arrows shot from the same direction. The two Southern Chu warriors, unable to find their shields, were each struck by two arrows and fell to the ground screaming in agony.

Chu Yi raised his shield to block an arrow, and seeing more than ten enemy soldiers emerge from the snowstorm in the distance, he knew he could not continue fighting, so he quickly turned around and chased after Su Wan and the others.
