Su Wan jumped off the carriage and said to Chu Mingyao, "Sister Chu, what's going on? Doesn't your word carry any weight?"
Chu Mingyao blushed slightly, took her hand and walked forward, saying, "When I got here, I told them about Ge Fanghai's conspiracy, but the generals thought I was also from Southern Chu and that my words were not credible."
Su Wan said, "These idiot generals actually don't trust Sister Chu."
Chu Mingyao sighed softly and whispered to Su Wan, "When Father Emperor married me off to the Western Rong, he did have some ulterior motives. Now that the Western Rong has stopped fighting with the Great Jin, and I have already married His Highness, I naturally cannot have my cake and eat it too."
Su Wan comforted her, saying, "Sister Chu, it's alright. You stay in the formation, and I'll talk to them."
She instructed her guards to look after Chu Mingyao, and then walked on foot to the front lines of the two armies.
The army Wei Jingzhuo brought consisted of seasoned warriors, each one tall and robust. She appeared exceptionally petite and inconspicuous walking among the troops. Some soldiers who didn't recognize her were puzzled, wondering whose young lady she was.
Halfway there, Wei Jingzhuo rode back, jumped off his horse beside her, and pushed up his butterfly mask, saying, "A-Wan, what brings you here?"
Su Wan said, "Things aren't going well, how can I sleep? I'll talk to them."
Wei Jingzhuo put his arm around her waist, lifted her onto the horse, and said, "It doesn't look good to walk like this. Sit on my horse, I'll lead it."
Su Wan used to ride a horse with Wei Jingzhuo, with his arms on either side, which made her feel especially safe. This time, sitting on it herself, she felt like she was going to fall off, so she quickly and nervously gripped the reins and squeezed the horse's belly with her legs, saying, "Then please go slowly."
Wei Jingzhuo smiled and nodded, leading his warhorse towards the front of the battle. Soldiers followed behind, holding the banner of the Jade-Faced General.
The generals of the Western Rong army opposite them couldn't help but focus their attention on Su Wan when they saw that the Jade-Faced General was actually leading a woman's horse.
As they got closer, they saw Su Wan's appearance clearly and exclaimed in surprise.
"It's the goddess! It's the goddess!" In the midst of the army, Commander Luna leaped out on his horse in delight, dismounted, and shouted back, "Warriors, the goddess has arrived!"
After saying that, he lifted his battle skirt and knelt on one knee before Su Wan: "Greetings, Goddess."
King Danmoji of the Western Rong was grateful to Su Wan for curing his heart ailment, and specially issued a royal decree: "To see the goddess is to see me."
The Western Rong army all knew that their commander, Luna, had seen the goddess. Since he said it was the goddess, he couldn't be wrong. Everyone immediately knelt on one knee.
