Su Wan anticipated that Jiang Yan would chase after them, so she pushed Wei Jingzhuo and ran, shouting as she ran, "Monster! There's a monster!"
The tiger was dozing on a rock outside the yard when it heard the noise coming from inside. It opened its eyes, raised its head, and turned its ears.
After seeing Jiang Yan, Su Wan found the tiger to be quite handsome and not scary at all. She pushed her cart and ran past the tiger, saying, "Run! Otherwise, you'll be killed!"
The tiger couldn't understand her words, bared its fangs, growled at her, and lowered its head to lick its paws.
Jiang Yan also chased after him from the courtyard. He had lost his mind and instead of going through the gate, he crashed into the courtyard wall, causing it to collapse.
A flying rock struck the tiger on the head, enraging it. The tiger pressed its four paws to the ground and leaped up to pounce on Jiang Yan. Before Jiang Yan could even raise his hand, the tiger's two massive paws were already on his chest, pinning him to the ground, and the man and tiger rolled together.
Su Wan ran to the entrance of the herb garden without looking back, panting heavily from exhaustion.
Hearing the collapse of the courtyard wall and the roar of a tiger, Chu Mingyao and Lin Qingfeng rushed to the door to see what was happening. Seeing Su Wan pushing Wei Jingzhuo over, Lin Qingfeng exclaimed and stepped forward to stop the cart.
Chu Mingyao stepped forward to help Su Wan up and asked, "What's wrong, little sister?"
Su Wan rested one hand on her knee and pointed behind her with the other, saying, "Strange...monster."
Chu Mingyao patted her back: "Little sister, what did you see? Why are you so panicked?"
Lin Qingfeng stepped forward and said, "Mistress, don't panic. I'll go and stop them."
Su Wan tried to stop him, but Lin Qingfeng had already gone out the door. She stopped shouting, grabbed Chu Mingyao's hand and placed it on the handle of the cart, leading Chu Mingyao to run towards the front yard, saying, "Monster, Patriarch Jiang."
Chu Mingyao was confused and was about to ask again when a tiger roared behind her, sounding miserable, as if it had been seriously injured.
Su Wan's expression changed. She hadn't expected the tiger to be defeated so quickly. She said, "Let's run!"
The two ran a few more steps when Lin Qingfeng came running up from behind them like a gust of wind, snatched the cart from their hands, and said, "He really is a monster. I'll push. Mistress, run!"
The three of them pushed the cart out of the moon gate, and Chu Mingyao turned around to close the door: "Wait until I lock the door."
Su Wan grabbed her wrist and said, "No, he doesn't use the door."
Just then, the sound of a house collapsing came from behind. Su Wan could tell that the sound wasn't coming from this direction, so she knew that Jiang Yan had lost track of them and wouldn't be chasing them for the time being.
She whispered to Chu Mingyao and Lin Qingfeng, "Let's not make a sound. Jiang Yan is very sensitive to sound and movement."
The three of them quietly pushed the cart forward. Lin Qingfeng said, "Is that really a person? I would believe it if you said it was an evil ghost from the underworld."
“He took performance-enhancing drugs,” Su Wan replied. “An overdose of drugs would cause that.”
Knowing that neither of them had ever seen the demon army in person, she briefly recounted her experience fighting the demon army and what she had seen and heard in the treatment room.
Chu Mingyao touched her chest and said, "Thankfully, Seventh Brother is alright."
She had lost several loved ones during this period, leaving her feeling depressed. Hearing news of Chu Yi brought her some comfort.
Su Wan said, "Brother Chu is very clever and will definitely be able to evade the pursuit of Patriarch Jiang. We don't need to worry about him; let's protect ourselves first."
Lin Qingfeng asked, "Since ghosts and monsters are impervious to swords and spears and possess immense strength, how should we deal with them?"
Su Wan said, "I don't know either. The Jiang family's main medicine seems to be even more potent, as it's not affected by capsaicin. We can only hide for now. We also need to tell the people here to take cover as soon as possible."
Chu Mingyao said, "I'll go and remind the children to hide in a room first."
Chu Mingyao left, and Lin Qingfeng stood guard not far away. Su Wan parked the stroller in the corridor and reached out to check Wei Jingzhuo's breathing and pulse. Seeing that Wei Jingzhuo was alright, she was relieved and then checked the straps securing him to the stroller.
The collapse of the house in the backyard has been stopped for a long time, and it is unknown where Jiang Yan is.
She wanted to push Wei Jingzhuo back to the consultation room, but she didn't know where Jiang Yan was, and the sun was about to set.
Walking in the dark is scary enough, but with a monster lurking somewhere else, she figured it was best not to take the risk. Wei Jingzhuo's life was in her hands; every decision was crucial.
Just as I was about to sit down and rest, I heard a series of exclamations from not far away, followed by screams.
Lin Qingfeng said, "Jiang Yan ran into someone."
Su Wan quickly pushed the cart away, saying, "Get away from where the sound is coming from."
Those who encountered Jiang Yan were likely doomed, and she had no power to save them. The only thing she could do was escape with Wei Jingzhuo.
After walking along the corridor for a while, Chu Mingyao ran out from around the corner with several girls, who were the candidate goddesses she had met before.
As they met, they heard screams echoing from the distant courtyard. The girls were all pale-faced, covering their mouths, afraid to cry out. Chu Mingyao asked Su Wan, "What should we do next?"
Su Wan was now thinking about getting away from Jiang Yan as much as possible, and said, "The entire Jinhua Mountain is now surrounded by floods... Are there any caves or anything like that on the mountain?"
A girl said, "Goddess, we can hide in the underground forge."
Su Wan asked, "The forging room?"
The girl said, "It's right below the artificial hill, but it requires the goddess's resurrection pendant to open."
Su Wan remembered the artificial hill she saw when she went outside after waking up, and quickly pushed the cart: "Let's go."
The group hurried to the artificial hill. The girl ran to the hill and pointed to a spot, saying, "It's here. The masked fake goddess and Uncle Jiang opened the artificial hill here."
